It is really becoming a major wonderment as to why so many political leaders are profoundly feeble-minded. If someone is going to be a leader, they need to have the mental capability to fit their demanding job.
During the last decade, the American people have increasingly put into office people who are more and more incompetent. Some of them could not operate a hot dog stand, and yet they are given roles that control the fate of our nation.
The new norm is that it’s natural for the US president to speak in gibberish. The liberal media knows that there is something wrong with President Joe Biden, but they ignore it because they only care about power. Since Biden does not write the words on his prompter, we may have freshmen interns setting policy for the executive branch.
Putin must reflect at least once a week on the reality that America’s nuclear arsenal is controlled by someone who is senile. It would be my hope that a guy who probably spends 10 minutes each day deciding what flavor of jelly to put on his toast would have some level of oversight.
If Biden is taken out, I had hoped that some other group would also have the launch codes. In the United States, a single person is authorized to make the decision to use a nuclear weapon—the president. Biden is not required to consult with any advisors before issuing a launch order. No one in the Defense Department, Congress, or the judicial branch can lawfully prevent the use of nuclear weapons once the president’s order is given.
Of course, in the event of a true emergency, someone would be moving the vice president to one of those aforementioned command facilities, though not the same one as the president. That is so, in the event the president was taken out, the VP could be quickly entered in as acting-President and go through the process of selecting a new presidential code.
We don’t have hours to put the VP into power. In a 500-missile emergency of a Russian submarine attack, we may only have 10 minutes to act. The nightmare scenario in my mind is Biden’s staff screaming at him to issue the launch codes, and he just stares into space and says, “I could really go for two scoops of vanilla ice cream right now.”
California Senator Dianne Feinstein has been in the news because she has gummed up the Senate Judiciary Committee by not being in Washington DC. She is 89 years old and has health issues. She has rebuffed calls for her to not just temporarily remove herself from her Committee role but step down from her job entirely before her term is up in 2024.
I would hope that she would step aside for the sake of the nation. The truth is that there are several people who need to retire because they are simply too old for the job. Some of the people required to force Feinstein out of office are near to her same age.
Rep. Nancy Pelosi appeared to imply that she thinks calls for Feinstein to resign over her vote absences on health grounds are sexist. Since Pelosi suffers from similar drawbacks to her health, sexism is going to be used rather frequently.
Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnel is a legislator I wish would resign. He has messed up enough races in his own party to give control of the Senate to the Democrats. Voters keep sending him back because they want government money that he can bring to the state. What may be good for Kentucky has been a disaster for the nation.
The election of Penn. Senator John Fetterman set a new low in a person’s willingness to elect mentally challenged people. He cannot function as a normal person. It may sound harsh to say, but he is nothing but a puppet that says words that are printed out for him.
If they had pulled Howdy Doody out of mothballs in the Detroit Institute of Arts and ran him in Fetterman’s place, it may have been an improvement. Soon after coming to the office, Fetterman had to seek mental health treatment to combat depression caused by his stroke.
Hillary Clinton currently does not hold any public office. In 2016 we nearly had her as president. The only factor that saved us was that she was such a nasty person that the American people decided to go with Donald Trump.
The reason why we have so many mentally challenged people in office is that we are getting the type of people we deserve. As our nation loses its morality, we are led by people who reflect our weakness.
“When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn” (Proverbs 29:2).
I like to bring this piece out at least once a year. If you have Jewish friends with whom you have shared the Good News of Yeshua – this might be a good thing to print out for them.

Ever since I was a small child growing up in a Jewish home in Bethesda, MD, I remember having a hunger inside to really know the truth about Jesus Christ. My family was more “culturally” Jewish than religious. We went to synagogue on the High Holidays. My parents did send me to school in the synagogue, and I was confirmed (not Bat Mitzvah’d) at the age of sixteen.
While growing up my parents allowed me to occasionally go with friends to Vacation Bible School and Pioneer Girl events at their churches. I remember helping neighbors decorate their Christmas trees, and I remember a feeling of sadness that we did not have this in our home. My father used to say to us: “Jesus was a good man, and if the world would live by His teachings it would be a wonderful place – but, He wasn’t who He said He was.”
This confused me throughout the years because it was a contradiction in terms. A good man….but he wasn’t who He said He was? That meant that he was a good man, but a liar? This is what sent me on my quest to find out the truth about this “man” who completely changed history.
In synagogue, during class, I would raise my hand, and when called on, I would ask, “Who is Jesus?” The teacher would be more than a little annoyed at me. She would say, “Shhh…we don’t talk about Him! We are Jewish!” I remember getting my first Bible in the synagogue at confirmation. Obviously, it was only the Old Testament. I would read it at night in bed…I didn’t understand it, but somehow it made me feel warm and happy just holding it.
I grew-up, got married and had children. I kept having this gnawing feeling inside that I wasn’t “right” with God, and that I really didn’t know how to raise my kids the right way. I wanted to be a godly woman – I didn’t know exactly what that meant, but I did want to be a really good mom. I decided that the Catholic Church was where I needed to go to find God. A VERY old priest who began Catholic instruction with me, did not remember me week to week! He would say, “Have we met?” I think that he was a bit senile.
I just wasn’t feeling that I was going to have my questions answered in the Catholic Church, so I quit going.
A couple of years later there was a tragedy in my family; a woman I was very close to committed suicide. I lived in a high rise apartment building when this happened. In the hallway, a couple came up to me and introduced themselves. They told me they had heard what happened and how sorry they were. They said that they would like to help us during the funeral. They wanted to make food for us and also offered to watch the kids during the funeral. I didn’t know this, but they were Christians.
After the funeral, I was so upset with God. I remember walking up and down many flights of stairs—yelling at God….asking Him how He could let this happen. The Christian couple were making us dinner and planned to bring it over. I was crying so much, and really didn’t want company, so I decided to knock at their door to get the meal. When I went in, I began to cry like a child.
Everything came pouring out of my heart. John (the husband), sat me down. He began to tell me about Jesus. He told me about His love for me. He told me about salvation. It was miraculous, because everything was so clear! I told him I wanted Jesus to live in my heart. I told him that I was ready to repent of my sins and follow Jesus as my Lord and my Savior. John led me in prayer that night to my glorious Messiah Yeshua!
I had searched for God for many years… He came to me that night—a night that stands alone in my memory—forever. My rebirth date was January 2, 1983.
I had never really appreciated being a Jew until I met Yeshua on that incredible night. I lost most of my family when they found out about my believing in Jesus. But the Lord allowed me to lead my dad to Him on the night of his death. I have another article about that amazing night, and also a miracle in my mom’s life as well. I will post that piece another time.
Praise Yeshua! He knew that my heart hungered to know Him. His faithfulness is beyond our comprehension. I cannot imagine life without Him!
The Gift From God to Assure Me That Yeshua IS the Messiah of Israel
Originally written in 2015, I bring this article out every few years. And I pray that some of my people might happen upon it, and believe in their hearts that Yeshua was and IS the long awaited Messiah of the Whole world.
If you have Jewish friends who are searching for truth, perhaps this article would open their eyes!
This story makes my heart leap inside my chest whenever I tell it. Being Jewish, it was miraculous enough that the Lord opened my eyes to Jesus, and helped me see Him with my heart. But what transpired a couple of weeks later was truly a gift from Him.
After the glorious night of my salvation all I wanted to do was read my Bible. I honestly forgot to eat meals sometimes because I was so absorbed in His Word. I wanted to please Him in every way. Almost instantly I knew that He wanted me to stop doing certain things. I had an aversion to off-color TV shows and movies. Soap operas were gone forever, and I had been addicted to them for years.
I saw the world differently. It was like He gave me new vision, like I was seeing people through His eyes. I wanted to stop every person I saw and ask them, “Do you know Jesus?” I was even able to discern people who loved Him. It was a certain look in their eyes. When I would finally ask if they knew Him, the answer was almost always, “Yes” and if not, it gave me an open door to tell them about Yeshua and His love for them.
My Jewish parents and siblings were not so thrilled. Well, perhaps that’s an understatement. They thought I was completely meshugana (crazy in Yiddish). But I quietly treasured in my heart that I knew the truth, and I prayed that my family would one day know it as well.
A week before my water baptism, I spoke to a lady at a Messianic congregation in Maryland – Beth Messiah. I was very excited to know other Jews who knew the truth about Messiah Yeshua. She was as excited as I was. She asked me if I had looked at Isaiah 53. I had not, but I told her that I would look after our conversation. She told me that she would mail to me literature about Beth Messiah.
Isaiah 53. OY! How did I miss that for so many years? It was an accurate description of Yeshua being led to Calvary to be slaughtered for the sins of the world. I read it over and over. I could not believe that such a picture of the Crucifixion was in my Old Testament that entire time.
I wanted to obey Him in all things. My friend told me about baptism, and how He wanted us all to be baptized after we were born-again. I told her that I wanted to be baptized—the sooner the better. Then the day of my baptism came.
As I came up from the water, I uttered some words which I did not understand. I felt that God wanted me to remember these words so I kept repeating them quietly to myself. The next day I received an envelope from Beth Messiah. There was a cover page which told about the congregation. I saw the first words which I had said “H’brit Chadashah” on this page.
My heart was beating so fast. Beside the words was the translation: “The New Testament.” I realized that I had spoken Hebrew! I was not Bat Mitzvah’d -only confirmed in my synagogue, so I did not learn Hebrew.”Then I saw the next word I had said “Yeshua” which means Jesus.
But the last word I had said was not there. It was “mannah” and I had to know what it meant. I called the home of my rabbi. His wife answered. I told her who I was and that I found a word and thought it was Hebrew. I told her it was “mannah.” She said, “Of course that is Hebrew. It is manna, the bread from heaven.”
Well, I almost passed out. I had said in Hebrew: “The New Testament of Jesus is the bread from heaven!” What a glorious gift to receive from Him; a confirmation that what I believed was TRUE, and given to me in Hebrew.
I told a Baptist minister this story. He told me that in 38 years of hearing “tongues” stories, mine was the first one he believed. He said that it was done in accordance with Scripture. He told me that he would never forget it.
All things are to glorify God and edify the Body of Christ!

This article will show you that not only is Bono not a Christian, but he is from the dark side.
When I was drawn by the Lord in 1983, it was a powerful and supernatural event. I had searched for the truth about God for most of my life. On that unforgettable night, He opened my eyes and my heart, and I remember saying to the person sharing Salvation with me “This is it!! It’s so clear to me now!”
I am not saying that we all have to have a dramatic, two feet off the floor experience. But I do believe that it should be a memorable time when a person finally realizes that they are a wretched sinner – unable to save themselves -and that God is HOLY and HE does the saving.
Another thing I remember is that I could not get enough of His Word. I would forget to eat food because I was immersed in His Word, and could hardly break away from it. I was told to start with the Gospel of John and I did. Then I went through all four Gospels. His Holy Word became the most important thing in my life.
I also had an immediate aversion to things that I had liked. I knew that He did not want me watching Soap Operas any longer. No one told me that except the Holy Spirit. I could not watch stand up comedians on HBO who were vulgar. It made me feel dirty, and I had never before given it a thought.
I knew that when I went to church, I should be hearing about sin and repentance. It was ALL about Jesus and Him crucified, and the Love that sent Him to that cross. I yearned to hear a preacher open up the Word to me in a deeper way. The couple who had led me to the Lord were charismatics, so I went to my first church with them.
I was brand new in Christ, but I still knew that the sermons I was hearing were leaving me empty. One Sunday night I saw Charles Stanley preaching on TV, and I considered him a gift from Jesus to me at that time of my walk with Him. When he preached, he backed everything up with Scripture. He spoke of sin and repenting and growing in Christ. I considered him to be my pastor in those early years.
I wonder about the walk of those with itchy ears; what went wrong in their walk that they would be this deceived?
“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables..” 2 Timothy 4:3-4 (KJV)
As I look around today, I see this passage of Scripture so clearly coming to pass. Perhaps there have always been many with itching ears, but I think that it is much worse in these last days. Were these people truly saved? How could they be so deceived? Did they attempt to come to God via the well traveled and very wide gate that God warns us to avoid? How can someone who has the Holy Spirit living within them, want their ears to be tickled with heresies? It makes no sense.
THE EMERGING CHURCH LIES
Rob Bell and Brian McLaren are two of the most well known leaders of the Emerging Church. Both men believe that there is no literal hell, and they teach this heresy to their people. Rob Bell, who wrote “Love Wins” preaches only about the love and mercy of our God. He is NOT preaching from the whole Word, because if he was, he would also preach on sin, the holiness of God, and repentance.
To truly lead a person to Christ, that person must agree with God that he/she is a sinner, in dire need of a Savior. They must understand that NOTHING they do will get them into heaven. Salvation is the work of God. He sent His one and only Son to die on that horrid Cross, to pay the penalty for sin for all people. BUT…..a person must receive His gift to be saved.
Bono is Loved by Emerging Church leaders
Have you been fooled by this rocker, who talks about his love for Jesus, but in reality shows his love for Satan during his performances? He has an alter ego named “MacPhisto.” Did you know that MacPhisto is in The Screw Tape Letters, by C.S. Lewis. The book’s characters are demons, and MacPhisto is a demon who works hard at communicating with baby Christians to get them away from God!
“But U2 is much more than a popular rock band. U2 has a great influence in the emerging church and the contemporary worship movement. U2’s lead singer Bono is praised almost universally among contemporary and emerging Christians. Phil Johnson observes that “Bono seems to be the chief theologian of the Emerging Church Movement” (Absolutely Not! Exposing the Post-modern Errors of the Emerging Church, p. 9).
“Bono played a far more significant role on the formative years on those who became emergent than anyone else, from a human standpoint. Bono, in the 1980s, was, if not worshipped, then absolutely adored by millions of Christian youth who were hanging on his every word. They saw his cool kind of Christianity. He helped lead people into what eventually became the emerging church. Bono has led people into a version of Christianity that is so slippery, so undefinable, so liberal, yet he is considered the main icon of the emerging church” (Joseph Schimmel, The Submerging Church, DVD, 2012).” source
WHAT HAS BEEN SAID ABOUT BONO FROM EMERGING CHURCH LEADERS
Eugene Peterson, author of The Message, says U2 has a prophetic voice to the world and says Bono is a prophet like John the Baptist (foreword to Get Up Off Your Knees: Preaching the U2 Catalog).
Brian Walsh believes that U2’s lyrics should be used for seminary training and as commentaries alongside the Bible, and that U2’s concerts should be studied to see “how worship really happens in a postmodern world” (Get Up Off Your Knees).
Mark Mulder has taught a U2 course at Calvin College and he observes that the school shares Bono’s view that the world will not be destroyed but will be renewed (“Calvin College on U2,” Christianity Today, Feb. 2005).
Brian McLaren and Tony Campolo say that Bono is moving the world toward the kingdom of God and increasing the kingdom of God in the here and now (McLaren and Campolo, Adventures in Missing the Point, 2003, pp. 50, 51).
Bill Hybels interviewed Bono at Willowcreek Community Church’s Leadership Summit in 2006 and that interview has been shown in thousands of churches all over the world.
Rick Warren invited Bono to Saddleback Church to help launch his P.E.A.C.E. program.
Rob Bell testifies that the first time he really experienced God was at a U2 concert (Velvet Elvis: Repainting the Christian Faith, p. 72).
Emerging leader Steven Taylor calls Bono “a worship leader” and on his blog promotes “Seven Things I Learned from Bono about Worship Leading.”
Christianity Today almost worships U2. When Episcopalian ministers Raewynne Whiteley and Beth Maynard published “Get Up Off Your Knees: Preaching the U2 Catalog,” Christianity Today responded with a review entitled “The Legend of Bono Vox: Lessons Learned in the Church of U2.” source
U2’s CHRISTIANITY
The members of U2 do not support any specific church or denomination. Very rarely do they attend church at all. But one church that Bono will attend from time to time is Glide Memorial United Methodist Church located in San Francisco. Bono attended a special service back in 1992, to honor Bill Clinton’s presidential election.
“Speaking at a meeting connected with the 1972 United Methodist Church Quadrennial Conference, Cecil Williams, pastor of the Glide Memorial Methodist Church, said, “I don’t want to go to no heaven … I don’t believe in that stuff. I think it’s a lot of – – – – [vulgarity].” A Jewish rabbi is on William’s staff. Williams was the Grand Marshall of the San Francisco Gay Pride parade and the chairman of his board was a homosexual. He has been “marrying” homosexuals since 1965 and says, “I have not married a single couple at Glide who weren’t already living together” (Williams, speaking at the Centenary United Methodist Church, St. Louis, quoted in Blu-Print, April 25, 1972). Long ago William’s church replaced the choir with a rock band, and its “celebrations” have included immoral dancing and even complete nudity. After attending a service at Glide Memorial, a newspaper editor wrote, “The service, in my opinion, was an insult to every Christian attending and was the most disgusting display of vulgarity and sensuousness I have ever seen anywhere.” source
Bono believes that heaven and hell are here and now. He does not believe in a literal hell as is described in the Word of God.
The members of U2 do not believe Christianity should have rules and regulations. “I’m really interested in and influenced by the spiritual side of Christianity, rather than the legislative side, the rules and regulations” (Edge, U2: The Rolling Stone Files, p. 21).
HELL IS REAL, AND IT’S NOT THIS SIDE OF ETERNITY
“The punishment of the wicked in hell is as never ending as the bliss of the righteous in heaven. Jesus Himself indicates that punishment in hell is just as everlasting as life in heaven (Matthew 25:46). The wicked are forever subject to the fury and the wrath of God. Those in hell will acknowledge the perfect justice of God (Psalm 76:10). Those who are in hell will know that their punishment is just and that they alone are to blame (Deuteronomy 32:3-5). Yes, hell is real. Yes, hell is a place of torment and punishment that lasts forever and ever, with no end. Praise God that, through Jesus, we can escape this eternal fate (John 3:16, 18, 36).” source

Are those in the Emerging Churches saved but extremely shallow and immature? Or is it possible that they never were saved in the first place? I can’t make that call, but it distresses me greatly to watch people who name the name of Jesus as their Savior, following after false teachers who preach a different gospel.
I do know that the false teachers will be judged harshly.
James 3:1 clearly states it:
“My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.”
When I speak truth about false teachers to their followers, I am attacked and accused of judging. We will go in circles about this, but it always comes back to being told that I am a judgmental and mean spirited person. I always show them the scriptures which clearly condemn the heresies, but they will not look at God’s Word; or if they do look, they take it completely out of context. Sometimes I feel like ignoring these types, but then I remember that the Lord wants us to always speak truth.
I do hope that this article has provided enough evidence as to why the Emerging Church leaders consider Bono to be their Icon. The itching ear crowd has brought to themselves teachers who feed their carnal needs — and have rejected the Word of God.
Do you have itching ears? Do you remember a time that you finally saw yourself as a sinner in need of a Savior? Can you think back to the time that you asked Jesus Christ to come into your heart and be your Lord and Savior?
2 Corinthians 13:5 says:
“Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?”
If you cannot remember such a time, and the words of this article are making you uncomfortable, it’s not too late! Today may be the day of your Salvation:
“For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” 2 Corinthians 6:2 (KJV)
I felt strongly that the Lord wanted me to bring back an article from five years ago. This article is especially important in these last days. We are seeing more and more ‘Christians’ pushing for a One World Religion. Are these people truly Christians and have just had a lapse in judgment? Only God knows that.
One of my favorite passages of Scripture is from the book of Acts:
“And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so” (Acts 17:10-11).
I think about the brethren from Berea, and how they received the preaching; the NASB says “With much eagerness.” I can just picture them leaning forward so as not to miss a word of what was being preached, but what made them noble in the eyes of the writer of Acts, was their complete reliance on, and devotion to God’s Word. They searched the Scriptures daily to make sure that what they had been told, matched up with God’s Holy Word. Oh, that we would all be like the Bereans!
Unfortunately, many in the church are led by their emotions. This is why people like Joel Osteen and Kenneth Copeland, and many other so-called preachers can pack in thousands of people on a Sunday morning. These congregations hold onto every word spoken by these types of preachers; never thinking to open up their Bibles to see if the sermons line up with God’s Word. If they did, they would immediately see that “Your Best Life Now” is not found anywhere in the Word of God. They would find that speaking in tongues in church, without an interpreter, is forbidden in God’s Word.
But the charismatic preachers tell their people what they want to hear, and the people trust them. Most probably never pick up a Bible to read what God says about these matters. The “Itchy ear crowd” are easily deceived.
“That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive” (Ephesians 4:14).
Unity
Jesus spoke of unity in the spirit and unity of the brethren. He was not speaking of uniting with others who held beliefs which were opposed to His teachings. When He said that He was the only way to the Father, He meant it! Teachings which oppose the Word of God are heretical, and should be avoided by the child of God.
Pope Francis has aligned himself with Universalist Unitarian churches and other religions which deny the inerrancy of Scripture. I have never heard this pope speak of sin and repentance. Actually, I’ve not heard anypope speak of these essentials of our faith! But Pope Francis takes this to a whole new level. See what this universalist website writes about this pope whom they love:
“If the Pope embraces reconciliation with Candomblé, with real, human, interface between leaders, why shouldn’t Catholics also embrace practitioners of Vodou? Or indigenous African religions? Or modern Paganism, for that matter? Indeed, the Pope’s new attitude is needed more now than ever before. We live in a world where human beings, fueled by religious beliefs, are persecuting and killing one another in increasingly disturbing incidents. What better time for a Pope to emphatically embrace an interfaith mission? A mission that had been blunted during the Papacy of Benedict, but now, hopefully, will bear new fruit.”
From God’s Word
“I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed” (Galatians 1:6-9).
It is so apparent from the Scriptures above, that we mustadhere to God’s Word. Unity with another gospel is forbidden, and it is for our safety and our well being that God tells us these things!
Martin Luther and the Catholic Church
“Born in Eisleben, Germany, in 1483, Martin Luther went on to become one of Western history’s most significant figures. Luther spent his early years in relative anonymity as a monk and scholar. But in 1517 Luther penned a document attacking the Catholic Church’s corrupt practice of selling “indulgences” to absolve sin. His “95 Theses,” which propounded two central beliefs—that the Bible is the central religious authority and that humans may reach salvation only by their faith and not by their deeds—was to spark the Protestant Reformation. Although these ideas had been advanced before, Martin Luther codified them at a moment in history ripe for religious reformation. The Catholic Church was ever after divided, and the Protestantism that soon emerged was shaped by Luther’s ideas. His writings changed the course of religious and cultural history in the West.” [1]-source
The Great Reformation was so critically important for the Word of God to be understood and obeyed. The Catholic Church had corrupted the Word, and after the Protestant movement grew, the Catholic Church was responsible for slaughtering millions of those who were not obedient to the RCC. This is when the Jesuits came into being as the military arm of the Vatican. I would encourage the reader to do a study of the crimes committed throughout the centuries by the Vatican and its popes. Most people are oblivious to the history of the RCC.
Pope Francis is calling Protestants Back to the Fold
“It is indeed disturbing to see so many evangelicals unaware of the Vatican’s strategy for bringing the world under the dominion of the papacy. The Vatican has made a concerted effort since 1965 to bring their “separated brothers’ back home to “holy mother the church.” In his 1995 encyclical Et Unum Sint, Pope John Paul II said he intends “to promote every suitable initiative…to increase the unity of all Christians until they reach full communion” and “to encourage the efforts of all who work for the cause of unity.”
The pope’s stated desire is “to gather all people and all things into Christ, so as to be for all—an inseparable sacrament of unity… expressed in the common celebration of the Eucharist.” During a week of prayer for Christian unity Pope John Paul II said, “I gladly take this opportunity to call the attention of all believers to the ecumenical commitment that marked VC II. The council rightly defined the division among Christians as a scandal. The council Fathers felt the need to beg pardon of God and of their brethren for the sins committed against unity.”
He asked Catholics “to cultivate an authentic spiritual ecumenism” through the Virgin Mary [not through the Lord Jesus]. The success of the pope’s push for unity can be seen by the announcement made last year by the Archbishop of Canterbury. He urged all Christians to recognize the Pope as the supreme authority of a new global church (6/99 CRN News). In a document called The Gift of Authority, he describes the Pope as a “gift to be received by all the churches.”
It would do us all well to heed the words of C.H. Spurgeon, “Ignorance has been one of the grand agents of Popery ever since her establishment; by it, the eyes of men have been so blinded that they can scarcely discern between good and evil, and follow implicitly any guide even until they fall into the ditch of perdition.
The Vatican’s ecumenical movement goes beyond the unity of all professing Christians. Their strategy is to bring all religions under the power and influence of the papacy. Pope John Paul II has been traveling the world to build bridges to all non-Christian religions. In a recent speech he said, “Christians and Muslims, we meet one another in faith in the one God…and strive to put into practice…the teaching of our respective holy books.
Today, dialogue between our two religions [Roman Catholicism and Islam] is more necessary than ever. There remains a spiritual bond which unites us and which we must strive to recognize and develop.” Even Mother Theresa had the ecumenical spirit as noted from her book Servants of Love. She stated, “we went every day to pray in some temple or church. The Archbishop gave us permission to do so. We prayed with the Jews, the Armenians, the Anglicans, the Jains, the Sikhs, the Buddhists, and the Hindus. It was extraordinary. All hearts united in prayer to the one true God.
As we watch the Vatican we can see a seductive strategy for uniting all Christians. They masterfully and deliberately redefine biblical terms to make them more vague, ambiguous and acceptable to both Catholics and Protestants. An example of this is the 1999 Lutheran-Roman Catholic “Joint Declaration on the Doctrine of Justification.” In the declaration, Rome uses equivocal and indefinite words to affirm the doctrine of “justification by faith alone” but, at the same time, continues to affirm the anathema’s that condemn all who believe this doctrine. We must not be misled. Rome has not changed its position on things that really matter! Instead they take advantage of professing Christians who lack discernment or who are unwilling to contend for “the faith.” -source
Catholicism is a Cult
Strong words, you say? I believe these words accurately describe this demonic institution. The RCC has led more people to hell than any other church in the world. They teach that to get to heaven, you must work for it. This is NOT the Gospel of Christ! They deify Mary, and call her a co-redemptor with Jesus. Mary was a little Jewish handmaiden who needed a Savior as much as you and I!
I must say that I have known born-again Catholics, but for whatever reason, they chose to remain in the Catholic Church.
Evangelical Community Moving Away from Sound Doctrine
As the Vatican continues its quest to bring back the Protestants to the Catholic Church, it seems that many Evangelicals are falling away from the Truth of the Word. This renders them vulnerable to being deceived. Many leaders in these churches would trade sound doctrine for “unity” but not the kind of unity of which Christ spoke. What has light to do with darkness? Can you see the perfect storm developing for the body of Christ at this time?
“As the ecumenical movement gathers momentum, we must be strong and continue to contend for the faith, no matter what others might do or say. Let us pray for our evangelical leaders to return to the authority of Scripture for every issue of faith. Let us use God’s Word to lovingly admonish any church leader who encourages unity with apostates or unbelievers. And finally, let us resist the pressure to participate in any activity or event that will deliberately suppress or compromise biblical truth for the sake of unity. We must return to the infallible, inerrant and inspired Word of God to heed its warnings and obey its commands. The Bible exhorts us to test all teachers and spirits (1 John 4:1,6). We are to expose false teachings and the evil deeds of darkness (Eph. 5:11). Christians are to lovingly confront and rebuke false teachers (Titus 1:9, 13). We are to separate from those who persist in teaching error (Romans 16:17; Titus 3:10). If we ignore these exhortations we may be disqualified for service (2 Timothy 2:20), or worse yet, be identified with the false teachers themselves (2 John 10-11).” source
Pope Laying the Groundwork for One World Religion
“For now, Pope Francis just seems to be laying the groundwork for the one world religion that is coming. There is a 900-year-old prophecy that indicates that Pope Francis could be the last Pope. If that prophecy is true, then it will be very important to watch the actions of this Pope very carefully.– source
What Are We to Do?
First, we must understand that all of God’s prophetic Word will be fulfilled. Nothing we can do will stop that. What we can and must do is to continue to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with as many people as we can. Show them love and pray for openings to share truth with the lost.
Try to stay calm. I do know that this is very hard. But God is in control and He is with us always. We know how this story ends, and for that we should be so grateful!
