REPOST: The Insanity of Mormonism: Everything You’ve Ever Wanted to Know About This Bizarre Cult
This verse instantly jumped into my head:
Gal 1:8 “But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.”
I was raised in the most Mormon populated community outside of Salt Lake City: Boise, Idaho so I know a lot about Mormonism. They are very tricky because the pretend to be, and claim to be, Christians. Jesus’s name is even in the title of their church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) so they must be Christians, right?! They are anything but and they are leading millions straight to Hell.
Very clever with their Jesus claims and their wide and deep family programs (which is an admirable trait and should be practiced in real Christian churches). They have proliferated because they fill a need for family and community fellowship like almost no other organization/business, plus they come across as the most American of faiths. What’s not to love?! But they are an abomination before the Lord.
Thank you Geri for this article. Mormonism is syncretism, which is everywhere, and the result is the same. If you do not know the Lord, if you are not indwelled by His Holy Spirit, if you follow another Jesus, you can not enter the kingdom of Heaven.
We know for certain our Lord’s sheep will not follow another shepherd, they only follow His voice.
I’m sad about The Chosen, not only have they embraced Mormonism, they have embraced Catholicism too. They are a universalist production that has co-opted the story of Christ for profit and fame. They claim they aren’t trying to deliver an accurate depiction of Jesus…and I say you can’t have it both ways. Use His name, use His story, use His glory and then misuse it to the point of blasphemy against Him and you will have to account to Him. He surely isn’t to be exploited or trifled with, our God will not be mocked.
