Is the risk of Tiananmen Square Coming To Ottawa?

By Judi McLeod

ruckers in Freedom Convoy 2022 are gaining world attention with some countries beginning to abandon Covid Mandates like a dreaded Plague.

With their leader in hiding and the truckers still occupying the nation’s capital, the Canadian Government and key provincial leaders are becoming more desperate by day to find a way out of their own manufactured mess and return the masses to the fear mongering of a bought-and-paid-for mainstream media.

Now that their hole-ridden tugboat is sinking, they’re calling on Ottawa police to save them from drowning:

It wasn’t the truckers and their supporters who abandoned downtown Ottawa residents, Coun. McKenney!

“On Wednesday, Chief Peter Sloly said policing alone might not be enough to end the protest. (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation,  Feb. 2, 2022)

“This is a national issue, not an Ottawa issue,” Sloly said. “I am increasingly concerned there is no policing solution to this.”

“Sloly said options being considered include requesting military aid, negotiation, a political response, a court injunction or the forced removal of protesters. But all approaches come with significant concerns, he said, including rioting, injury and death.”

Why even consider bringing on “significant concerns”, including Tiananmen Square-like rioting, injury and death”?!

“Residents downtown have been abandoned during a national crisis and an occupation of our city.—Somerset Coun. Catherine McKenney

It wasn’t the truckers and their supporters who abandoned downtown Ottawa residents, Coun. McKenney!

Suggesting that they would be called in is nothing short of out and out fear mongering.

Sloly:”This demonstration has been intolerable, unprecedented. The range of illegal, dangerous and unacceptable activities is beyond the ability to list,” he said.

“Bringing in the military would come with its own “massive risks,” Sloly said. He said he was aware of only two such military interventions in the past hundred years: the Oka Crisis in 1990 and the October Crisis in 1970 that involved attacks by the Front de libération du Québec (FLQ).

“I don’t have a singular mandate in this city, this province or this country, to negotiate the end to any demonstration,” Sloly said.

“There always needs to be an element outside of the police for any truly successful end to any demonstration, particularly one of this size.”

“Daniel Minden, a spokesperson for the Minister of National Defence, told CBC the Canadian Armed Forces are not currently involved in law enforcement and have no plans to be.

he buck stops with the police and not the Canadian Armed Forces.

Suggesting that they would be called in is nothing short of out and out fear mongering.

So CBC has FINALLY noticed that Freedom Convoy 2022 is so much more than the Justin Trudeau-described “FRINGE”!

“The protest has involved people across the country, as well as from other countries, who are frustrated with the response to the COVID-19 pandemic from all levels of government. (CBC)

So CBC has FINALLY noticed that Freedom Convoy 2022 is so much more than the Justin Trudeau-described “FRINGE”!

“The longer the demonstration persists, the more the risks will increase, said Sloly. (CBC)

“But clearing protesters out comes with its own dangers, he added, and police have neither the “lawful authority” nor the “practical capability” to block access to a city the size of Ottawa.

“The chief also referenced similar protests against COVID-19 mandates, including attempts to contain a trucker blockade in southern Alberta.

“What happens here affects there and what happens there affects here,” Sloly said. “They were not effective and they created additional … potentially life-threatening safety issues.”

Are Ottawa Police now taking conspiracy shots at the protesting truckers?

“Ottawa police say they’re now aware of a significant contingent from the U.S. funding and participating in the protests, while police work to thwart those efforts.”  (CBC)

Will they next be smearing protesters as “racists”, “misogynist”, and as Viva Frei pointed out in yesterday’s Tweet, ‘kitchen-sinkists’?

Bringing up the rear, Fat-cat Ontario Premier Doug Ford is in on the ongoing government hypocrisy

Bringing up the rear, Fat-cat Ontario Premier Doug Ford is in on the ongoing government hypocrisy.

“You know, I hear you. I hear the protesters. The province hears the protesters. The country hears the protesters,” Ford said at a press conference Tuesday morning in Ajax, Ont. (Global News, Feb 1, 2022)

“Now it’s time to let the people in Ottawa get back to their lives. These businesses that have been closed for a while now — the restaurants want to reopen.” <click to watch

What about businesses in Toronto and myriad other cities and towns in Ontario “closed for more than two years by the policies of this hypocritical premier?

“Crowds have thinned out considerably on Parliament Hill and the surrounding area, where anti-COVID restrictions demonstrators have been protesting for days. (Global)

“But those that remain say they are staying put until all the restrictions are lifted, with the president of the Ottawa Gatineau Hotel Association saying some protesters have been extending their stays at hotels, or are asking to rebook for the coming weekend.”

Just like his pal PM Trudeau, Ford, escalating rather than deescalating the fight against the overreach of government, remains defiant and spiteful to the end

You took their money, Ottawa Gatineau Hotel Association.  Why turn any intel you garner from them over to a retaliatory government?

“The disruption caused by the protest has caused some businesses in Ottawa to close indefinitely, just as the provincial government eased COVID restrictions Monday allowing various facilities to reopen, including gyms and indoor dining at restaurants and bars.(Global)

At only 50% capacity for gyms, restaurants and bars who’ve had to struggle against bankruptcy for more than two years.

“The premier again condemned the presence of # and confederate symbols at the protest over the weekend, and the desecration of the National War Memorial.” (Global)

“Both Canada and the United States now have a vaccine mandate in place for cross-border truckers.

“A reporter also asked the premier whether he supports that mandate.

“People may disagree one side or the other, but I’m going to support getting vaccinated and that’s no shot against the truckers,” Ford said.

Like hell!

“I think the world of the truckers. I’ve supported them from day one and appreciate and am very grateful of everything they’ve done and continue to do throughout this pandemic.”(Global)

“He noted that the vast majority of truck drivers are vaccinated.”

Just like his pal PM Trudeau, Ford, escalating rather than deescalating the fight against the overreach of government, remains defiant and spiteful to the end.

Up for election in June, he should remember that truckers and their supporters will be going to voting booths, too.

“The Last Refuge reminds us: “When the Chinese communists decided it was time to rid themselves of the dissident protests in Tiananmen Square, the local military encircled the student and academic activists in an effort to protect them..  However, the ruling Chinese officials were not happy, and sent for the Mongolian army divisions, those without familial connections in the movement, to do the dirty work.  The rest of history you likely know.(Conservative Tree House, Feb. 2, 2022)

“In Ottawa, Canada, again another exhibition of confronting hardline totalitarian leftists, the voices of those within the Freedom Convoy movement are similarly not going to be deterred.  The protestors want the government COVID dictates removed, they want vaccine passport rules dropped, they want mandated vaccinations and forced medical procedures stopped, and they want their freedom back.

“Into this equation and confrontation, The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and local law enforcement are also unlikely to want to bring blood and violence upon the streets.  However, the hardline leftists will not allow dissent to challenge their power. As history repeats, the local police are now opening the possibility of bringing in the military.

“Whether Prime Minister Justin Trudeau triggers the use of the Canadian military to attack peaceful protestors within the city of Ottawa under the auspices of his authority and the national state of emergency, is yet to be determined.  It’s hopefully unlikely that Justin Trudeau will order the military to open fire on truck drivers and their supporters.” Source

What is a ‘PROGRESSIVE CHRISTIAN CHURCH’ and How to Know if You Are in One

Several years ago, my husband and I began attending a local Evangelical, non-denominational church, and we loved it. We cherished the sense of community we found among the loving and authentic people we met there, and the intelligent, “outside the box” pastor who led our flock with thought-provoking and insightful sermons. Sadly, the church started going off the rails theologically, and after about a year and a half, we made the difficult decision to leave. Today that church is a self-titled “Progressive Christian Community.”

Back then I had never heard of “Progressive Christianity,” and even now it is difficult to pin down what actually qualifies someone as a Progressive Christian, due to the diversity of beliefs that fall under that designation. However, there are signs—certain phrases and ideas—that seem to be consistent in Progressive circles. Here are 5 danger signs to watch for in your church:

 1. There is a lowered view of the Bible

1. There is a lowered view of the Bible

One of the main differences between Progressive Christianity and Historic Christianity is its view of the Bible. Historically, Christians have viewed the Bible as the Word of God and authoritative for our lives. Progressive Christianity generally abandons these terms, emphasizing personal belief over biblical mandate.

Comments you might hear:

  • The Bible is a human book…
  • I disagree with the Apostle Paul on that issue…
  • The Bible condones immorality, so we are obligated to reject what it says in certain places…
  • The Bible “contains” the word of God…

2. Feelings are emphasized over facts

In Progressive churches, personal experiences, feelings, and opinions tend to be valued above objective truth. As the Bible ceases to be viewed as God’s definitive word, what a person feels to be true becomes the ultimate authority for faith and practice.

Comments you might hear:

  • That Bible verse doesn’t resonate with me….
  • I thought homosexuality was a sin until I met and befriended some gay people….
  • I just can’t believe Jesus would send good people to hell….

3. Essential Christian doctrines are open for re-interpretation

3. Essential Christian doctrines are open for re-interpretation

Progressive author John Pavlovitz wrote, “There are no sacred cows [in Progressive Christianity]….Tradition, dogma, and doctrine are all fair game, because all pass through the hands of flawed humanity.” Progressive Christians are often open to re-defining and re-interpreting the Bible on hot-button moral issues like homosexuality and abortion, and also cardinal doctrines such as the virgin conception and the bodily resurrection of Jesus. The only sacred cow is “no sacred cows.”

Comments you might hear:

  • The resurrection of Jesus doesn’t have to be factual to speak truth….
  • The church’s historic position on sexuality is archaic and needs to be updated within a modern framework…
  • The idea of a literal hell is offensive to non-Christians and needs to be re-interpreted….
4. Historic terms are re-defined

4. Historic terms are re-defined

There are some Progressive Christians who say they affirm doctrines like biblical inspiration, inerrancy, and authority, but they have to do linguistic gymnastics to make those words mean what they want them to mean. I remember asking a Pastor, “Do you believe the Bible is divinely inspired?” He answered confidently, “Yes, of course!” However, I mistakenly assumed that when using the word “inspired,” we both meant the same thing. He clarified months later what he meant—that the Bible is inspired in the same way and on the same level as many other Christian books, songs, and sermons. This, of course, is not how Christians have historically understood the doctrine of divine inspiration.

Including the Word "Love"

5. Including the Word “Love”

Another word that tends to get a Progressive make-over is the word “love.” When plucked out of its biblical context, it becomes a catch-all term for everything non-confrontative, pleasant, and affirming.

Comments you might hear:

  • God wouldn’t punish sinners—He is love….
  • Sure, the Bible is authoritative—but we’ve misunderstood it for the first 2,000 years of church history…
  • It’s not our job to talk to anyone about sin—it’s our job to just love them….

5. The heart of the gospel message shifts from sin and redemption to social justice

The heart of the gospel message shifts from sin and redemption to social justice

There is no doubt that the Bible commands us to take care of the unfortunate and defend those who are oppressed. This is a very real and profoundly important part of what it means to live out our Christian faith. However, the core message of Christianity—the gospel—is that Jesus died for our sins, was buried and resurrected, and thereby reconciled us to God. This is the message that will truly bring freedom to the oppressed.

Many Progressive Christians today find the concept of God willing His Son to die on the cross to be embarrassing or even appalling. Sometimes referred to as “cosmic child abuse,” the idea of blood atonement is de-emphasized or denied altogether, with social justice and good works enthroned in its place.

Comments you might hear:

Comments you might hear:

  • Sin doesn’t separate us from God—we are made in His image and He called us good….
  • God didn’t actually require a sacrifice for our sins—the first Christians picked up on the pagan practice of animal sacrifice and told the Jesus story in similar terms….
  • We don’t really need to preach the gospel—we just need to show love by bringing justice to the oppressed and provision to the needy…

Identifying the signs is not always obvious—sometimes they are subtle and mixed with a lot of truth. Progressive Christianity can be persuasive and enticing, but carried out to its logical end, it is an assault on the foundational framework of Christianity, leaving it disarmed of its saving power.

We shouldn’t be surprised to find some of these ideas infiltrating our churches. Jesus warned us, “Watch out for false prophets” who “come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves” (Matthew 7:15). So if you spot any of these 5 danger signs in your place of worship, it might be time to pray about finding fellowship in a more biblically faithful church community. Source

No doubt, there are some who have been offended by this article. I would rather “offend” you with TRUTH, than tickle your ears with a lie.

Years ago, I wrote articles about Rachel Held Evans – a leader in the Social Justice False Gospel movement. Rachel died at 37 years old leaving her family devastated. Here are a couple of articles about the errant teaching of Social Justice:
