Authorities are investigating after an explosion destroyed the Georgia Guidestones in Elbert County, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said.
They said “unknown individuals” detonated an explosive device at around 4 a.m. on Wednesday. The Elbert County Sheriff’s Office responded to discover the explosion destroyed a large portion of the structure, they said.
According to multiple people nearby, the explosion was heard in the area and even shook their homes. Some shared images showing debris near the stones.
11Alive’s Dawn White reported from the scene in Elbert County in the evening that crews had gone in to level the remaining standing parts of the Guidestones.
Video from the scene showed construction equipment and the stone blocks in a rubble heap.

Georgia slabs called satanic by some torn down after bombing
ATLANTA (AP) — A rural Georgia monument that some conservative Christians criticized as satanic and others dubbed “America’s Stonehenge” was demolished Wednesday after a predawn bombing turned one of its four granite panels into rubble.

The Georgia Guidestones monument near Elberton was damaged by an explosive device, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said, and later knocked down “for safety reasons,” leaving a pile of rubble in a picture that investigators published.
Surveillance footage showed a sharp explosion blowing one panel to rubble just after 4 a.m. Investigators also released video of a silver sedan leaving the monument.
After prior vandalism, video cameras connected to the county’s emergency dispatch center were stationed at the site, said Elbert Granite Association Executive Vice President Chris Kubas.
The enigmatic roadside attraction was built in 1980 from local granite, commissioned by an unknown person or group under the pseudonym R.C. Christian.
“That’s given the guidestones a sort of shroud of mystery around them, because the identity and intent of the individuals who commissioned them is unknown,” said Katie McCarthy, who researches conspiracy theories for the Anti-Defamation League. “And so that has helped over the years to fuel a lot of speculation and conspiracy theories about the guidestones’ true intent.”

The 16-foot-high (5-meter-high) panels bore a 10-part message in eight different languages with guidance for living in an “age of reason.” One part called for keeping world population at 500 million or below, while another calls to “guide reproduction wisely — improving fitness and diversity.”
It also served as a sundial and astronomical calendar. But it was the panels’ mention of eugenics, population control and global government that made them a target of far-right conspiracists.
The monument’s notoriety took off with the rise of the internet, Kubas said, until it became a roadside tourist attraction, with thousands visiting each year.
Brothers and sisters in Christ, something is not allowing me to finish this article. We all know that AP is Leftist. I just wanted the readership to know that the GGS was leveled.
MARANATHA!
Praise God for this !!!! I pray that it will NEVER be rebuilt!!!!
The media has some good news for a change almost downright inspirational. My next thought is who actually has title to that property & what’s next for it? There’s no doubt the rock pile was satanic. All written on it was antithesis of everything Biblical while suggestively mimicking the image of the 10 commandments & its content glorifying man alone. Anyone claiming otherwise is ignorant of Biblical teachings & easy prey for Satan’s deceptions & insatiable appetite for souls.
I don’t know who holds the deed to that property, but HERE is what I would love to happen: A very wealthy Christian would buy that land and construct the Largest CROSS ever to be built in the world!!
The media has some good news for a change almost downright inspirational. My next thought is who actually has title to that property & what’s next for it? There’s no doubt that new age rock pile was satanic. All written on it was antithesis of everything Biblical while suggestively mimicking an image of the 10 commandments however its content glorifies sinful man alone. Anyone claiming otherwise is ignorant of Biblical teachings & easy prey for Satan’s deceptions & insatiable appetite for souls. A real Christian nation would have ground that monstrosity into highway pavement decades ago, the idea being it was an affront to the teachings of our God & Savior whom we as a Christian nation supposedly serve. We didn’t take it personally, glad someone finally did.
Dale, I’ve been writing and warning about the pure EVIL of those slabs of granite with such devilish words carved into it. Many believe that Ted Turner had a hand in purchasing the granite to build the GGS. Here is one of many pieces I wrote on that satanic rock: https://grandmageri422.me/2022/07/06/the-georgia-guide-stones-population-control-and-the-coming-antichrist-we-are-so-close-now-2/
Hi Geri. Why waited after 42 years, then BOOM! Hey, I’m not complaining. I’m clapping my hands. YAY!!!!
Some say that it was lightning.
Some say that is was God.
Some say that was explosive device.
Some say that was a missile (yeah right).
I don’t know, but you know what? I’m happy that happened. This stones was evil. My friend of mine’s friends have visited there and they felt evil presence.
Geri, why now? I’m mean why now this happened? Could be a sign? I don’t know.
This is my opinion, it could be God telling us that time is short and pay attention?!!
God bless
Jim, look at my latest piece on this and scroll down to the bottom. You’ll see what I believe really happened and why.
It is so hard not to respond to evil with evil, even if it is only harsh language. From 1 Peter 3:8-9, “be courteous; not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.” I’d love to see Christians speak with what I would call powerful gentleness. If any of us vandalize monuments we don’t like, would the world see any difference between us and the world? It is so hard to not cheer when reading that this evil shrine was destroyed, especially after reading of church buildings in France and Canada and Nigeria and China being defiled or burned. Yet I can almost hear a paraphrase of Romans 2:22, You who abhor idols do you vandalize temples? I want no fellowship with darkness. Rather, I pray I can keep this little light of mine shining. Thank you, Geri and Tim for providing a place to rant for calm folks and the not so calm alike. ScottT
You are so welcome, Scott!
Elated it is gone. Dont understand how owner of the site is unknown.granite is strong so odd it isnt to be repaired. But limelight would be on it if repaired. Then perhaps schwab and gates had it brought down as depopulation is well in progress in time release death jabs so mission accomplished. But it seemed built for the future after goals met. Just glad it is no more.
I’m very glad that it is down too. I was thinking a lot about this today and a thought came into my head which was scary. Maybe we are close to the population being culled as the first devilish commandment on GGS declared: “Maintain humanity under 500 million in perpetual balance with nature.” Maybe while this is being accomplished, they felt that the GGS was too obvious – too “in your face” with what they plan.
Amen and thank you. I first thought of that. Possibility.
