Beth Moore: False Teacher Leading Many Astray

“Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee” (Ezekiel 28:17).

Of course, we know that this passage of Scripture speaks of Lucifer, the most beautiful of all of God’s angels.  Why am I beginning this article with this Scripture? I want the reader to understand that “beauty” has led many down a road to destruction.

Beth Moore is a beautiful woman. She is a very charismatic person. She attracts people. She attracts Christian women who attend her seminars. But just as Satan spoke to Eve in the Garden, Beth Moore speaks to women all over the world, and like Satan, she is twisting the Word of God. Beth Moore is not rightly dividing the Word of Truth.  She is dangerous.

Contemplative Prayer

From gotquestions.org

What is Contemplative prayer?

Answer: It is important to first define “contemplative prayer.” Contemplative prayer is not just “contemplating while you pray.” The Bible instructs us to pray with our minds (1 Corinthians 14:15), so, clearly, prayer does involve contemplation. However, praying with your mind is not what “contemplative prayer” has come to mean. Contemplative prayer has slowly increased in practice and popularity along with the rise of the emerging church movement—a movement which embraces many unscriptural ideas and practices. Contemplative prayer is one such practice.

Contemplative prayer begins with “centering prayer,” a meditative practice where the practitioner focuses on a word and repeats that word over and over for the duration of the exercise. The purpose is to clear one’s mind of outside concerns so that God’s voice may be more easily heard. After the centering prayer, the practitioner is to sit still, listen for direct guidance from God, and feel His presence.

Although this might sound like an innocent exercise, this type of prayer has no scriptural support whatsoever. In fact, it is just the opposite of how prayer is defined in the Bible. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” (Philippians 4:6). “In that day you will no longer ask me anything. I tell you the truth, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete” (John 16:23-24). These verses and others clearly portray prayer as being comprehendible communication with God, not an esoteric, mystical meditation.

Contemplative prayer, by design, focuses on having a mystical experience with God. Mysticism, however, is purely subjective, and does not rely upon truth or fact. Yet the Word of God has been given to us for the very purpose of basing our faith, and our lives, on Truth (2 Timothy 3:16-17). What we know about God is based on fact; trusting in experiential knowledge over the biblical record takes a person outside of the standard that is the Bible.

Contemplative prayer is no different than the meditative exercises used in Eastern religions and New Age cults. Its most vocal supporters embrace an open spirituality among adherents from all religions, promoting the idea that salvation is gained by many paths, even though Christ Himself stated that salvation comes only through Him (John 14:6). Contemplative prayer, as practiced in the modern prayer movement, is in opposition to biblical Christianity and should definitely be avoided. – source

Beth Moore teaches that Contemplative prayer is good and right. She is part of the Emergent Church movement.  This ungodly movement is filled with New Age beliefs and practices.  Contemplative prayer is encouraged in these churches. Watch Beth Moore as she leads people into this mystical practice:

Did you see how many thousands of people this woman is misleading?  The enemy of our souls is using Beth Moore to bring lies to the church; and many believe her lies to be truth.  She seldom uses Scripture, but when she does, she twists it to give credence to her words.

Did you see that Beth Moore recommends “Jesus Calling?”  I wrote an article about this New Age book which many believers rave over and recommend to their friends.

Article on New Age Roots of Jesus Calling

Watch Justin Peters speak about Jesus Calling and Beth Moore:

Beth Moore and her extra Biblical Visions

Beth Moore believes that God gave her a vision that all of Christendom will come together (that includes Roman Catholics)  She is pushing this ecumenical view more and more:

Roman Catholicism is a “works based” religion. It is NOT Christianity. There may be some in the Catholic church who have come into a relationship with Jesus and are born again – but their salvation could not have come from the teaching of their priests!  Those evangelicals who are returning to Rome are SO deceived!

Beth Moore also teaches that the churches which are rabidly anti-Israel i.e. Lutheran, Methodist, Episcopalian (and others)- are part of the body of Christ. It is her belief that ALL of the denominations are part of His body. This is outright heresy! She is deceived and she is deceiving millions of people!

I have come to trust Apprising Ministries for their discernment in exposing false teachers.  If you click on this link, it is filled with information on Beth Moore. They have marked her as a “false teacher.”

Brethren, apostasy abounds and Beth Moore is a big part of it – especially for women in the church.  If you have been a follower of Beth Moore, I pray that this article has persuaded you to turn away from her teaching.

We MUST be like the Berean church. Everything we hear, we must compare to Scripture to see if it is true.  Do not believe extra Biblical visions or so-called words of knowledge. Everything we need to know from God is in His Holy Word!

“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron” (1 Timothy 4:1-2)

The MOST Jewish Thing I Ever Did Was To Believe In Jesus

A Jewish follower of Yeshua. His video is found in this article

There is a Rabbi from Israel who believes that he was called by God to bring Jews back to right Jewish thought and teaching.  Who are these “wayward” Jews?

To Rabbi Singer, they are Jews like me who have received the One who was promised to us.  The Rabbi believes that somehow we were brainwashed and snatched away from the “truth” of the Old Testament.

I was approached years ago by an Israeli writer. She said that Rabbi Singer desired to speak with me. She wanted to set up the meeting.  I graciously declined after reading about the work of the Rabbi.

I wonder if Rabbi Singer has read Isaiah 53 from the Old Testament?

The Sin-Bearing Messiah

Isaiah 53    (YES – from the OLD Testament)

 “Who has believed our report?
And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
 For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant,
And as a root out of dry ground.
He has no form or comeliness;
And when we see Him,
There is no beauty that we should desire Him.
He is despised and rejected by men,
A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.
And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him;
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.

 Surely He has borne our griefs
And carried our sorrows;
Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten by God, and afflicted.
 But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.
 All we like sheep have gone astray;
We have turned, every one, to his own way;
And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

 He was oppressed and He was afflicted,
Yet He opened not His mouth;
He was led as a lamb to the slaughter,
And as a sheep before its shearers is silent,
So He opened not His mouth.
 He was taken from prison and from judgment,
And who will declare His generation?
For He was cut off from the land of the living;
For the transgressions of My people He was stricken.
 And they made His grave with the wicked—
But with the rich at His death,
Because He had done no violence,
Nor was any deceit in His mouth.

Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him;
He has put Him to grief.
When You make His soul an offering for sin,
He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days,
And the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand.
 He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied.
By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many,
For He shall bear their iniquities.
 Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great,
And He shall divide the spoil with the strong,
Because He poured out His soul unto death,
And He was numbered with the transgressors,
And He bore the sin of many,
And made intercession for the transgressors.”

A Jewish person reading this article might say:

“But followers of Jesus have persecuted and killed us for many centuries!”  The confusion behind the suspicious attitude which most Jews have is not without good reason.

But what my people do not understand is that many of the same people who persecuted and killed them, likewise persecuted and killed the true followers of Jesus Christ. I am speaking here of the “Catholic church” which I have rightly called a Cult in many of my articles.  Jewish people must understand that the Vatican has NOTHING to do with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

But how about Martin Luther and John Calvin and their anti Semitism?

As a Messianic Jew, I was shocked and saddened to learn that these “fathers” of  the Great Reformation held anti Semitic views.  For years, I avoided quotes from these men; and I must admit that I held more than just a bit of anger towards them.

It was only when the Lord revealed to me that as long as people are in this body of flesh, we will still sin. God used these men to to show the world that the doctrines of Catholicism were not from the Bible.  Jesus brought the Covenant of Grace (saved by Grace through Faith).  The Catholic church teaches a “Works-based” salvation.

But as a Jew, I will still avoid quoting from Luther and Calvin. It still stings when I read  the words from these men.

But actually God did reveal His Messiah in the Old Testament as clearly shown in Isaiah 53. There is still a blindness in part to the eyes of the Jewish people. And because of this partial blindness, the most beautiful thing happened to the world.

The Gentiles, who were for centuries kept out of the Kingdom of God, were miraculously brought into God’s Kingdom through Grace! But please see the warnings given to the Gentiles to not be “haughty” and boast – God said it best with this warning from Romans 11:

 “For if the first fruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches.  And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree,  do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you”    (emphasis mine).

Romans 11:11-31

Israel’s Rejection Not Final      (I will bold certain words and phrases for the sake of understanding)

 I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? Certainly not! But through their fall, to provoke them to jealousy, salvation has come to the Gentiles.  Now if their fall is riches for the world, and their failure riches for the Gentiles, how much more their fullness!

For I speak to you Gentiles; inasmuch as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry, if by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh and save some of them.  For if their being cast away is the reconciling of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?

 For if the first fruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches.  And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree,  do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you.

 You will say then, “Branches were broken off that I might be grafted in.”  Well said. Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear.  For if God did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either.  Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off.  And they also, if they do not continue in unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.  For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, who are natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?

 For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.  And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written:

“The Deliverer will come out of Zion,
And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob;

 For this is My covenant with them,
When I take away their sins.”

 Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers.  For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.  For as you were once disobedient to God, yet have now obtained mercy through their disobedience,  even so these also have now been disobedient, that through the mercy shown you they also may obtain mercy”

Conclusion

I am praying that many Jewish people will read this article in hopes that they might read the New Testament  and discover that Jesus (Yeshua) was and IS their long awaited Messiah.  I pray that they will discover the Jewishness of Jesus and of His Apostles!

The Ten Commandments given to Moses was to show God’s Chosen His standards and Holiness.  The Jewish people in the Old Testament  were never able to keep all of God’s commandments.  How many times did they take unto themselves gods from other countries? And when Moses was receiving the Ten Commandments, the Israelites were fashioning and worshiping a golden calf!

Think about King David.  Was there even one Commandment that David was able to keep?   No, but God still called David “A man after His own heart.”  Why?  Because of his repentance and how he mourned over sinning against God.

When Yeshua (Jesus) came to earth, He brought the Commandments to a new level. He told  his followers that if they even lusted after a woman, it was the same as adultery.  He told them that being angry at another person was just like killing them.

Yeshua was showing the people that there was no way to keep every Commandment.  But repentance (changing one’s mind about sin) and trusting the death and Resurrection of Yeshua as payment in full for one’s sins – THIS is what reconciles a person to God the Father.  The letter of the Law killed, but the Covenant of Grace brought by Yeshua gives Life everlasting.

I pray that the Jewish people who have read this piece, will have been drawn by God  and their eyes opened to the truth. Yeshua is the only way to our Father in heaven.

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me”  (John 14:6).

If you are Jewish and you feel a tugging on your heart, I will show you how to become a Jewish follower of Yeshua:
