The Island of Misfit Toys by Pete Garcia

Several weeks ago, many of us got a major shock when we found out the Omega Letter website was finally closing its doors after seventeen-year run online. Upon hearing the bad news, one of the member faithful commented in the forums, well, sh*$. Probably not the most Christian response one could give, but perhaps the most human.

For many, the Omega Letter had long been a church to the churchless. It was a respite for the weary. A lighthouse on an island amongst a sea of internet ministries. The light the Omega Letter helped shine, provided direction, clarity, and safe-passage for those trying to navigate the often-murky waters of how bible prophecy fits into our world today. The Omega Letter was also a house of prayer; where many could help lift each other up and help bear each other’s burdens in these last days. In those regards, many in the member forums became like family.

Jack Kinsella’s sudden death in 2013 rocked many within the Pre-Tribulation/ Dispensational communities. He was well known and well respected for his astute insights and articulate prose. Many wondered if the OL doors would have shuddered even back then, but we (the staff writers) kept writing. We continued to do so long as the family decided to keep the lights on. Even as devastated as many within our small (and shrinking) communities were about the loss of Jack (along with all the other solid Bible teachers we have lost as of late), the world never noticed.

There was no media coverage. No biographies in the New York Times or other papers of note. No mention at all except for those from within the Pre-Trib community. It was as if the world never even noticed. I am sure from their perspective; people like us at the Omega Letter are just a bunch of backwards, knuckle dragging, bible-thumpers. I am also sure from the mainstream churches perspective that we are on the fringe. We are truly like the island of misfit toys that no one wants or cares about, the proverbial tin-foil hat brigade.

Perhaps that is all true as well.

Many of us (myself included) are poor, broken, flawed, and unwanted. In and of ourselves, we have little strength (or chance) to stand against the overwhelming rising tide of apathy and evil that is sweeping across our land. It was along this vein by which a world, whom is increasingly being given over to its own demise, that we should become a safe harbor for the shipwrecked and destitute. It was not heaven or perfection the Omega Letter offered, but a refuge from the storm for those weary of wandering. A warm, cozy place they could sit and stay a spell. What Jack began, we carried on for another five years in his honor. The fact that the OL ran for 17 years is a testament to the integrity and ministry Jack left behind.

I would like to think Jack is beaming down on us from Heaven right now, proud that his life and legacy continued for as long as it had after his death. That the readers and writers faithfully continued to contribute in this labor of love, devoting hundreds of hours of study, prayer, and research into this little corner of the internet. We fearlessly put our thoughts and ideas to pen and paper each day, contributing to a family who, for the most part, we have never met. Moreover, with the Omega Letter’s closing, most of us will go our own separate ways. Some of us will continue to write in our own venues, but we individually, will never have the same magic we had together collectively.

Speaking personally, writing can be a heavy burden when done faithfully, consistently, and honestly. I would devote many hours each week to give the very best analysis and insight I could with the limited time I had in which to do it. And as always, I did so gratis. That is not to brag or to pat myself on my back for the seven-years and over 350 articles published. I did so because this was where God wanted me to serve. I think we all believed this to be a labor of love, one in which we all served willingly.

With that said, this is my final article for the Omega Letter.

It seems just as surreal saying this, as I am sure it is many of you reading this. Thank you (the faithful readers) for supporting the Omega Letter over the years. A heartfelt thanks to Jack, Gayle, Kari, the Kinsella family, and my fellow OL writers (Alf, Wendy, JL, Steve, Rebecca, Frank, and Ed) for a wonderful experience and journey over the years. Thanks for continuing for another five years when it would have been so much easier to just let the website close back in 2013.

Lord willing, I will continue with my own little island refuge for the time being for anyone who cares to stop by and stay a spell (www.rev310.wordpress.com). You can also read my articles at Rapture Ready and Rapture Forums when they post them. Let me close with my favorite passage, and I hope that it brings you much joy and peace in the time we have left, as it has done for me over the years.

Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2nd Corinthians 4:17-18

Until we meet again, Maranatha!

Pope Francis: “The Devil Made Us Do It!”

Some of the readers of this piece are not old enough to remember Flip Wilson’s comedic character, Geraldine.  On the Flip Wilson show which aired in the 70’s, Geraldine would always use the same excuse for her behavior:

“The devil made me do it!”

Now, stories are emerging that Pope Francis knew about the bishops sexual abuse and even attempted to cover it up.

From neonettle.com

**My commentary will be indented.

Pope Francis has blamed The Vatican child abuse scandal on Satan, who he claims is working hard to undermine the Roman Catholic Church.

Now, let me get this straight.  Satan is working hard to expose the sexual child abuse by bishops and other Vatican leaders? So if we follow that line of thinking, then none of us should have any consequences to our actions UNLESS the devil works hard to expose us, right? And then, we have the right to say “Satan exposed my sins!”  Brethren, remember who the Bible calls the author confusion!

The Pontiff has once again deflected the Catholic church’s pedophilia problem onto the devil and had urged Catholics around the world to recite a specific prayer every day in October to try to beat him back.

So NOW the head of the Vatican is pleading with Catholics all over the world to say a prayer against Satan – essentially to shut Satan up about the pedophiles in the Catholic church.  REALLY?  Pope Francis is recruiting Catholics to be part of this insanity?

‘(The Church must be) saved from the attacks of the malign one, the great accuser and at the same time be made ever more aware of its guilt, its mistakes, and abuses committed in the present and the past,’ Francis said.

This is pretty slick.  Francis continues to blame Satan for “revealing” the horrific and perverted offenses of the clergy; but throws in a bit about the guilt, mistakes (MISTAKES?) and abuses of said clergy.  Does any of this make sense? Perhaps Francis could blame Satan for tempting these guilty pedophiles.  But he blames the evil one for uncovering the SINS!

According to the DM: Since he was elected in 2013, Francis has made clear that he believes the devil to be authentic.

In a document in April on holiness in the modern world, Francis mentioned the devil numerous times.

Obviously, this news source is not Christian – so therefore they mock Francis for saying that the devil is real.  What hit me square between the eyes about Francis reiterating that the devil is real – he almost NEVER mentions our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!  Mary, who Catholics believe is co-Redemptrix with Jesus is mentioned numerous times in Catholic masses.

‘We should not think of the devil as a myth, a representation, a symbol, a figure of speech or an idea. This mistake would lead us to let down our guard, to grow careless and end up more vulnerable,’ he wrote in the document.

Oh, the irony!  Francis exclaims to the Catholic people that they truly need to believe in the devil.  He should know him intimately – after all,  he WORKS for him!

The Church has recently been hit by one sexual abuse scandal after another, from Germany, to the United States, to Chile.

At the same time, a deepening polarisation between conservatives and liberals in the Church has played out on social media.

Francis’ use of the term ‘the great accuser’ to describe Satan hit a raw nerve with one of the pope’s harshest conservative critics, Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò, the Vatican’s former ambassador to Washington.

In an 11-page statement published on August 26, Viganò launched an unprecedented broadside by a Church insider against the pope and a long list of Vatican and US Church officials.

He accused Francis of knowing about sexual misconduct by a former US cardinal with male adult seminarians but not doing anything about it.

Viganò, concluding that his former boss had singled him out as the devil in disguise, complained in his next statement that Francis ‘compared me to the great accuser, Satan, who sows scandal and division in the Church, though without ever uttering my name’.

On Sunday, a top Vatican official issued a scathing open letter accusing Viganò of mounting a ‘political frame job devoid of real foundation’ and contesting his accusations against the pope point by point.

Brethren, none of this surprises me.  If you missed my article on homosexuals and pedophiles in the Catholic church – here is the link:

“St. Sebastian’s Angels: A Network of Gay Catholic Priests”

Francis is so convinced that Satan is ultimately to blame for both the sexual abuse scandals and the divisions within the Church that he has enlisted the aid of St Michael the Archangel.

Can you imagine the reaction of our Lord Jesus – knowing that His Warrior Archangel, Michael, who by the way is not a “saint” is being called upon to stop Satan from uncovering sin? BLASPHEMOUS.

Michael is mentioned several times in the Bible as the leader of the angels who ousted Lucifer, the fallen angel, from paradise.

Catholics are being asked to recite the rosary daily in October and conclude it with a prayer to St Michael that was said after Mass until 1964 but then fell into disuse.

The prayer reads: ‘St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.

Be our defence against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan, and all evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.’

Michael is NOT a “saint” he is the Archangel and leader of the armies of God.  And the definition of “saint” to Catholics is completely wrong.  Catholics deem only those who have done so-called miracles to be named “saints” and then they make graven images of these people.  We know that in the Bible, all of us who are born again are His saints!

Here is an article from neonettle.com from September.  The title of the piece is sufficient for the reader to understand that Pope Francis is either possessed or completely out of his mind:

I would like to conclude this piece with an observation which I believe we should all be aware of.

We know that the Vatican is NOT the Church of our Lord Jesus Christ.  They are a works based “cult” and the Bible clearly tells us that we are under the new Covenant of Grace.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast”   (Ephesians 2:8-9).

The corruption of many of the popes of the Vatican, would astound most Christians. I strongly advise the reader to take time and research the history of the popes.

Because the evil one is the father of lies and the author of confusion, it should not surprise us that Catholicism has been at the forefront of the Pro-Life movement since Roe Vs. Wade was passed in 1973.  This somehow has given credence to that false institution because people will always bring up their involvement in Pro-Life.

Being Pro-Life is commendable and a wonderful thing. But it does not negate the fact that Catholicism is a cult.

I pray that more and more people will have their eyes opened by our Lord, and they will come out of the Catholic church and into the Love, grace and forgiveness of the Lord Jesus Christ.

How Can I Be Saved?

Shalom b’Yeshua

MARANATHA!
