The Talmud may or may not state that. Some say it was removed long ago. Be that that it may, the Talmud is not cannon nor inspired by the Spirit. It might as well be a comic book.
To think GOD does not protect the Jewish people and preserve a remnant, is counter to Scripture.
Here are just a few of hundreds of scriptures that say just that:
Jeremiah 31:35-37 (NASB)

There are TWO words that war replete throughout scripture concerning Jacob (Israel/ Jews):
“Everlasting covenant”
GOD made that covenant with people not land. The Land use covenant is a totally different covenant. Even still that covenant is made to the Jews. It is their land:
Psalm 105:8-11 (NASB)
8 He has remembered His covenant forever, The word which He commanded to a thousand generations,
9 The covenant which He made with Abraham, And His oath to Isaac.
10 Then He confirmed it to Jacob for a statute, To Israel as an everlasting covenant,
