We have all seen the commercials by the Humane Society which show us the terrified eyes of animals (mostly dogs) who have been abused and neglected. Anyone with a heart, upon seeing these commercials, will be greatly affected. I know that I am almost brought to the point of tears.
But do you realize that these same people who produce these commercials, are rabid abortion proponents? Where is the heart break for tiny human beings – torn apart in their mother’s wombs? Now, they are attempting to deliver the dead babies in one piece so that their parts may be sold to companies and universities for profit.
I ran across a website with pictures of various animals in the wombs of their mothers. The tiresome and “inhumane” mantra of the pro-death camp has always been “The fetus is not a real human being until it is delivered.” That is even being disputed now. They are pushing for legislation which allows the baby to be murdered outside of the mother. Believe it or not, some are saying that up to five years old would be acceptable.
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14). (Emphasis mine)
This warning from our Holy God is to His people. It is NOT directed to the unsaved. Do you name the Name of Jesus as your Lord and Savior? You say yes, but did you know that part of Salvation is Repentance? As a matter of fact, the Word says that we must “Repent” first and then believe. Repentance means a change of mind.
Before you came to Christ, did you change your mind about sin; about your own sin, and about sinfulness in general? Did you realize how much our God hates sin and that it separates Him from people? Are you a changed person since you came to Christ?
Is money more important to you than pleasing God? Is that why you may be one of millions of so-called Evangelicals who are supporting a man like Donald Trump?
I’m sorry to ask so many questions in this piece, but these are such important questions to ask of oneself. Our Republic hangs in the balance. Yes – America as we have known her, teeters on becoming a different country. We will no longer be a country as our founders established with the help of God. Our Constitution will be torn to shreds and regarded as “outdated” and worthless.
We will be a country who hates God, and this will be the norm. Those who love Him and believe His Word, will be considered the enemy. Be sure that our “new” government will punish believers harshly. We will probably be killed. Oh, you didn’t think that your ungodly choice for president had such ramifications? Well, it does. It shows God that you are not with Him. These are hard words to type, but I feel that the Lord wants me to write them.
In 2008, I met a woman who claimed that she was a born again believer in Christ. We had such wonderful talks about the Word. One day we talked about the upcoming elections. She said to me that she was going to vote for Obama. She joked that she was voting her “purse.” I asked her if she knew about his close ties to Planned Parenthood. She did. She said “God will take care of the rest of it” REALLY? Well, actually she was more right than we both realized. God WILL take care of matters in America when His people will not humble themselves, and turn from their wicked ways. It’s called JUDGMENT.

The voting starts Monday, and the stakes couldn’t be higher.
Two out of three Americans know we are on the wrong track, going in the wrong direction. We are heading steadily towards implosion. We’ve murdered some 58 million babies. We have five Justices on the Supreme Court who have decided that the Bible is wrong and they know better than God how to define marriage. We have taken on $18 trillion in debt and there’s no end in sight. We are surrendering to Russia, China, North Korea, Iran and ISIS. Our tax code is corruptingly complex and killing jobs and opportunity. We can’t — or won’t — control our sovereign borders. Our schools are a mess. Violence, drugs and pornography are epidemic. The list goes on and on.
Americans are hurting, frustrated, and many are angry. The question is: Who can get us turned around and heading in the right direction? Can anyone?
As I wrote on this blog last August, I’ve been praying about this and studying the Scriptures for many months, asking the Lord for clarity, and here is what I have concluded — America needs a Josiah. A President cannot save America from all our troubles, but leadership matters. Above all, we need a sweeping spiritual revival throughout the Church, based on the principles found in 2 Chronicles 7:14. We need a Great Awakening among those who don’t know Christ personally. We need God to wake up a lost nation from their spiritual slumber to earnestly seek the Lord for individual and national forgiveness and restoration. I’m praying for such sovereign moves of God.
At the same time, I’m praying God raises up a President like Josiah, the one-time King of Judah whom the Bible describes as one of the most humble, strong, wise and impressive leaders of all-time. Obviously, we don’t want a theocracy. So I don’t literally mean America needs a king. And I’m not saying America needs a Pastor-in-Chief or a Theologian-In-Chief. We’re not looking for someone perfect. That will have to await the Second Coming. But before you vote, I strongly encourage you to read the Biblical accounts of Josiah. I believe you will find qualities in his life, his faith, his leadership and his passion for and commitment to making bold, sweeping, transformational change that are benchmarks of the kind of leader we need right now.
Will the Lord have mercy on our nation and raise up a Josiah? I honestly don’t know. We don’t deserve one. The Lord would be justified in turning us over to those who are corrupt and/or those who could lead us to tyranny. That said, I do see several possible candidates who — even with their weaknesses and flaws — could emerge as such a leader, especially with much prayer and wise counselors around them. They include (in alphabetical order) Ted Cruz, Mike Huckabee, Marco Rubio and Rick Santorum. In a previous column, I described them as the “Final Four” that I was watching closely. Will one of them emerge over the next few weeks as the leading candidate in the presidential race? We will see.
That said, I have to be honest with my readers that there is one candidate on the Republican side who is definitely not a Josiah. Donald J. Trump is currently the national front-runner in the GOP, and is leading the pack in Iowa. But he would be a catastrophe for America should he be elected President.
Mr. Trump is trying to convince the GOP and the country that he is a deeply committed conservative. But all the evidence says he has been a liberal all of his adult life. Even if he has recently changed his views, all we have is his word. There is very little fruit in his life that would indicate that he has had a true change of heart on matters of faith or policy. Indeed, he has said openly that he does not need to repent or ask God for forgiveness.
It would be a mistake to entrust the entire pro-life, pro-marriage movement to a man who has blown up two marriages of his own, boasts of his infidelities, runs gambling an strip clubs, has supported abortion on demand and Planned Parenthood for decades, and talks of appointing his own pro-choice sister to the Supreme Court. It would be a disaster to entrust the economy to a man who has proposed both the biggest tax cut in history (with no plan to pay for it) and the biggest tax increase in history. Further, it would be a catastrophe to entrust the security of our nation and our allies to a man who has no foreign policy and national security experience, who clearly doesn’t understand the threat of Radical and Apocalyptic Islam, and who says he gets his military advice from watching Sunday TV talk show.
In some ways, Mr. Trump reminds me of the Biblical figure, Sampson — blind and ready to bring the house down. But perhaps the analogy to Saul, Israel’s first king, is more apt. Read the account in I Samuel chapter eight through fifteen. The people demanded that the Hebrew prophet Samuel “appoint a king for us to judge us like all the nations.” (I Samuel 8:5) The rebellious people didn’t want God to lead them. They wanted a king of their own choosing, someone that would make Israel seem like all the pagan nations around them, someone to “go out before us and fight our battles.” (I Samuel 8:20). In short order, the people made a man named Saul their king. They didn’t study his character or his track record or his statements or his views on how to lead them. They chose “a choice and handsome man” who was “taller than any of the people” and was the son of a “mighty man of valor.” (I Samuel 9:1-2). Why? Because Saul looked the part.
Samuel, the Hebrew prophet, was horrified. But in the end, the Lord said, “Listen to the voice of the people…for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me from being king over them.” (I Samuel 8:7) The Lord then explained how much this foolish decision would cost His people, but He let them make their choice anyway. And it did not go well.
Is this where America is heading?
I realize some — maybe many — of my readers will be angry at what I’m writing. But I have to be honest with my readers about the enormous threat Mr. Trump poses to all that we hold dear. His arrogance, narcissism, greed and lack of respect for women, minorities, and anyone who disagrees with him disqualifies him to be President of the United States. I do pray for Mr. Trump that he will either truly come to personal relationship with Christ through repentance and faith, or — if he has already made that decision — will humbly seek discipleship and grow in his new faith. But even if he’s a new convert, he is not ready to be president.
Thus, I am deeply concerned that so many professed Evangelical Christians are supporting Mr. Trump. Perhaps they haven’t looked carefully at his life, his statements, his record, his leadership, his allies, and his flip-flops.
Here are 32 reasons a Trump presidency would be a catastrophe for America. Each is a direct headline, based on specific statements by Mr. Trump. (There are many more. God have mercy on each of us, and on this great country of ours. – source
I pray with Joel that God would have mercy on America, but at this point do we really think He should?
Question: “What was the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah?”
Answer: The biblical account of Sodom and Gomorrah is recorded in Genesis chapters 18-19. Genesis chapter 18 records the Lord and two angels coming to speak with Abraham. The Lord informed Abraham that “the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is so great and their sin so grievous.” Verses 22-33 record Abraham pleading with the Lord to have mercy on Sodom and Gomorrah because Abraham’s nephew, Lot, and his family lived in Sodom.
Genesis chapter 19 records the two angels, disguised as human men, visiting Sodom and Gomorrah. Lot met the angels in the city square and urged them to stay at his house. The angels agreed. The Bible then informs us, “Before they had gone to bed, all the men from every part of the city of Sodom — both young and old — surrounded the house. They called to Lot, ‘Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us so that we can have sex with them.'” The angels then proceed to blind all the men of Sodom and Gomorrah and urge Lot and his family to flee from the cities to escape the wrath that God was about to deliver. Lot and his family flee the city, and then “the LORD rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah — from the LORD out of the heavens. Thus he overthrew those cities and the entire plain, including all those living in the cities…”
In light of the passage, the most common response to the question “What was the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah?” is that it was homosexuality. That is how the term “sodomy” came to be used to refer to anal sex between two men, whether consensual or forced. Clearly, homosexuality was part of why God destroyed the two cities. The men of Sodom and Gomorrah wanted to perform homosexual gang rape on the two angels (who were disguised as men). At the same time, it is not biblical to say that homosexuality was the exclusive reason why God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. The cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were definitely not exclusive in terms of the sins in which they indulged.
Ezekiel 16:49-50 declares, “Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy. They were haughty and did detestable things before me…” The Hebrew word translated “detestable” refers to something that is morally disgusting and is the exact same word used in Leviticus 18:22 that refers to homosexuality as an “abomination.” Similarly, Jude 7 declares, “…Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion.” So, again, while homosexuality was not the only sin in which the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah indulged, it does appear to be the primary reason for the destruction of the cities.
Those who attempt to explain away the biblical condemnations of homosexuality claim that the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah was inhospitality. The men of Sodom and Gomorrah were certainly being inhospitable. There is probably nothing more inhospitable than homosexual gang rape. But to say God completely destroyed two cities and all their inhabitants for being inhospitable clearly misses the point. While Sodom and Gomorrah were guilty of many other horrendous sins, homosexuality was the reason God poured fiery sulfur on the cities, completely destroying them and all of their inhabitants. To this day, the area where Sodom and Gomorrah were located remains a desolate wasteland. Sodom and Gomorrah serve as a powerful example of how God feels about sin in general, and homosexuality specifically. – source
Is America not a modern day Sodom and Gomorrah? Did our SCOTUS not proclaim to us that homosexual practice is not just acceptable, but also that marriage should be redefined to include them? Are you still shocked that America will most likely be destroyed – and very soon?
If you are a person who says that you belong to God, yet you have voted for and supported things which are detestable to our Lord, then right now you should get on your knees and REPENT before God.
So many of us are broken right now. We are mourning the death of a brother in Christ, who was also the embodiment of our Conservatism and Constitutionalism in America. Personally, I feel like I’ve lost an uncle or someone so close in our family. Then I realize that he WAS in our family. He is now with our Lord and Savior. He will never suffer pain again. But we who are left are suffering from broken hearts.
Justice Antonin Scalia was iconic in his service on the SCOTUS. He loved the Lord Jesus Christ. He was the most Conservative of all of the justices. He loved our Constitution. He loved the written words of the law – penned by our founders. He was a purest in his decisions on the bench. He never thought of the Constitution as a “living” document; able to be changed along with changing times. He always looked at the words of our founders in every decision as to what the founders “meant.” He saw these words as statutes – his job was to interpret the law as the founders would have done it.
Now he is gone. With his absence comes worry and a feeling of impending doom. The Lord allowed his death. I keep telling myself this. God could have stopped this, but He did not.
Let’s look at what the Word says about our sorrows and grief.
Psalms 34:18 – The LORD [is] nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
2 Corinthians Chapter 1 – Blessed [be] God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
Revelation 21:4 – And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
1 Peter 5:7 – Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
Psalms 73:26 – My flesh and my heart faileth: [but] God [is] the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.
Isaiah 26:3 – Thou wilt keep [him] in perfect peace, [whose] mind [is] stayed [on thee]: because he trusteth in thee.
John 14:27 – Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
John 14:1 – Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
Did you know that God keeps our tears in a bottle?
Psalm 56:8 – “Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?”
Trusting God
Where else can we go? Who else can we trust? Only God.
Proverbs 3:5 – Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
Psalms 46:10 – Be still, and know that I [am] God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
Romans 15:13 – Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
Psalms 28:7 – The LORD [is] my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.
Psalms 112:7 – He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.
Romans 12:19 – Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but [rather] give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance [is] mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
We do not know that which is ahead for our nation. God knows. We do know that America has sinned so greatly against the Lord. God does not wink at sin. No. He must deal with sin. With over 60 million babies slaughtered since Roe V Wade in 1973; and now with the SCOTUS decision to change the definition of marriage between one man and one women – and allow same sex marriage across the land – God’s judgment burns against America.
Brethren, this may be the end of America as we have known her. But that does not change our love and devotion for our God. Nor does that change the need to be on our knees and pray for God’s will.
Take your sorrow to Jesus. He is the only one who can comfort you.
Pray for Justice Scalia’s family at this time.
Pray that God’s will be done in our government at this time. All of this has shown me how futile it really is to place our trust in men during this election process. Our ONLY hope is in the Lord. Let’s always remember that.
I received an email from one of my readers asking me if I would write a piece on Zionism. She said that there is so much confusion over this term. I have been thinking about writing on this for a while. I’m glad that the Lord spoke through this sister in Christ to give me an extra nudge to do this.
Answer: Zionism, simply a political movement at its inception, has today become more of an ideology than anything else. Zionism is an international movement for the return of the Jewish people to Zion, the land of Israel, while exercising the right to retain authority of government over the state of Israel, which was promised to them in the Hebrew Scriptures. The roots for Zionism lie in Genesis chapters 12 and 15, in which God makes a covenant with Abraham promising him that his descendants would inherit the land between Egypt and the Euphrates River.
Due to the fact that Zionism was begun as a politically motivated movement, there exists among secular Gentiles and non-religious Jews a line of thought stating that the religious background of the Jewish people had nothing to do with Zionism. It is argued that Zionism was instead a reaction of the Jewish people to worldwide persecution during World Wars I and II. No nation would take them in, so they were forced to create their own nation, the land of their ancestry being the most opportune place.
Regardless, the Zionist movement, begun in the late 1890s, found fulfillment in 1948 when Israel was officially recognized as a state and granted sovereignty as a nation within Palestine by the United Nations. This is when, technically, the political Zionist movement ended and the ideology of Zionism began, and as such, has become a much-debated topic. Some would say that Zionism has become a motivation for racism, or a reaction against anti-Semitism. Others believe that Zionism as it currently exists is merely Jewish patriotism.
Associated with Jewish Zionism is Christian Zionism. Christian Zionism is simply Gentile support of Jewish Zionism as based on the promises to Israel found in the Bible, passages such as Jeremiah 32 and Ezekiel 34. Christian Zionists are primarily evangelical and give support in any way possible to the Jewish state of Israel. The return of the Jews to the Promised Land is the fulfillment of prophecy and is seen, especially by dispensationalists, as a sign that the world has entered the end times. – source
How the secular world views Zionism
I wrote an article recently on how Jews become self hating. In the piece, I explain that secular Jews with little or no training in Jewish studies and the Torah are more likely to adopt this self hatred of their own people. These same people have a worldly view of Zionism since they have no understanding of the Scriptures which clearly show that God promised Abraham and his descendants the land of Israel as their own.
“In the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates” (Genesis 15:18).
The secular world – both Jew and Gentile – have no frame of reference for the land of Israel being promised by God to the Jewish people. Most of these people do not even believe in God and certainly do not believe that the Word of God is credible and is truth.
Enter Palestinianism
In 1948, Israel was declared the official Jewish State. To Orthodox Jews and Evangelical Christians, this was an incredible fulfillment of prophecy from the Word of God. To the secular world, this event was merely thought of as a pay back to the Jewish people who had just had 6 million of their own slaughtered by Hitler.
But the Arab world had a vastly different view of the Jews coming into what they called “Palestine.” They viewed these Jews as intruders and claimed that the Jews had no right to this land. They said that the so-called Palestinians had been displaced. Since that time, there has been non-stop conflicts and wars in the region. Now, the entire world stands against Israel, and there isn’t a day that this tiny country is not in the news.
8 fascinating trends in how American Jews think about Israel
“On one side are the reform and secular Jews who make up 65 percent of the U.S. Jewish population, sometimes joined by the 17 percent who identify with conservative Judaism. This group is more likely to worry about or criticize Israeli policies toward Palestinians. It’s less likely to claim an emotional attachment to Israel and less likely still to argue that the country was promised to Jews by God.
On the other side are the small minority of Orthodox Jews – about 10 percent of American Jews – joined by America’s much larger community of white Evangelical Christians. This block is more likely to oppose an independent Palestinian state, to support settlements and to argue that Israel was promised to Jews by God. That last point is particularly important for how you view Israel-Palestine, as it could suggest that Israel should control all Palestinian land outright and permanently – and that seeing this through is a divinely mandated mission.” – source
As you can see, the secular camp derives their opinions from exactly that – opinions! These sentiments are driven by emotion alone. They have little or no attachment to Israel, and agree with the narrative they are fed by the liberal media day after day.
The orthodox Jews and Evangelical Christians see the events happening in that region as God’s Word being fulfilled. They know that the land belongs to the Jewish people. They know that the State of Israel being officially established in 1948 was God’s Word being fulfilled. Their support and love for Israel comes from knowing that God loves and supports His Chosen people!
1. Sharp divide on whether Israel was “given to the Jewish people by God”
• 40 percent of American Jews believe the land that is now Israel was given to the Jewish people by God.
• 55 percent of American Christians believe this – far more than even most Jews – including 64 percent of Protestant Christians.
• The groups least likely to believe this are secular Jews (16 percent), reform Jews (35 percent) and Catholics (38 percent).
• This view is overwhelmingly common among Orthodox Jews (84 percent) and white Evangelical Christian (82 percent). If you’ve been to Israel, you have surely seen large tour groups of American Evangelical Christians.
2. Orthodox Jews and Evangelical Christian share skepticism of two-state solution
• 61 percent of American Jews agree that “there a way for Israel and an independent Palestinian state to coexist peacefully. Compare this to 50 percent of the American public.
• The biggest supporters of a two-state solution are secular Jews (72 percent), Conservative Jews (62 percent) and Reform Jews (58 percent).
• The biggest skeptics are Orthodox Jews (30 percent) and white Evangelical Christian (42 percent). Note the similarities between this number and the groups who believe Israel was given to the Jews by God.
3. Few trust Palestinian peace-making; Israel’s efforts also viewed skeptically
• Only 21 percent of secular Jews agree that the “Israel government is making a sincere effort to bring about a peace settlement” with the Palestinians. That’s a staggeringly low number.
• 61 percent of Orthodox Jews believe this, including 73 percent of Modern Orthodox. The only other religious group for which over half believe this is Conservative Jews, at 52 percent. (Data for Christians is not available on this question.)
• Among all Jews, 38 percent say they believe the Israel government is making a sincere effort.
• The Palestinian leadership scored far worse among all group. Among all American Jews, only 12 percent believe it’s making a sincere effort toward peace. That’s highest among Conservative Jews (14 percent) and lowest among Ultra-Orthodox (6 percent).

False belief of meaning of Zionism (Anti-Semitic)
The Jew haters of this world turn Zionism into a political ploy by rich Jewish bankers to manipulate the riches of the world to their advantage. They have taken the word “Zionist” and twisted it from its true Biblical meaning, to disparage Jews and their homeland, Israel. I cringe when I see this in print, and when I realize how many people buy into this lie. I remember what my dad would always tell us that as long as the world existed, the Jews would be their scapegoat. I see now that is so true.
I do hope that this article has brought clarification to some who have been confused as to the real meaning of Zionism. Satan is determined to destroy the Jewish people. He does terrible damage to my people, but he will never triumph over them. God will not allow it.
