Wars and rumors of wars – political upheaval and MAGA…

Recently I have heard some folks barking about the coming nuclear war with Russia. Thankfully, I have been off the media bandwagon since 2020. Could it be that the media is nothing more than pure entertainment? I do keep up on current events and filter all the nonsensical drivel out. I refuse to listen to pundits ranting about how “The Sky is Falling” or a boy crying “WOLF”.

While I certainly can understand lost souls of the world being fixated on such useless things, I cannot, for the life of me, understand why “professed” believers in Jesus let the media harlot suck the life out of them.

If you have faith in almighty God, an understanding of His Word, and trust Him fully, why let such current events rattle you?

“You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end. (Matthew 24:6)

As far as political landscapes, I really have nothing but contempt for it including “Our Side”

There are far too many believers who are so fixated on the current political shift that they literally have lost sight of Jesus. Now that the American Election is over, they all but seem ready to go back to sleep.  Hey, I’m glad it worked out the way it did. Nevertheless, it is just a temporary stay of execution for my nation. After all it is the candidate God chooses 100% of the time.

“It is He who changes the times and the epochs; He removes kings and establishes kings; He gives wisdom to wise men And knowledge to men of understanding. (Daniel 2:21)

While I am thankful the lunatics were ousted (for now) we must be cautious not to place any hope on the incoming regime. We have merely substituted evil debauchery for pride.

Do not trust in princes, In mortal man, in whom there is no salvation. (Psalm 146:3)

The only MAGA I am interested in is:

“MAKE AMERICA GODLY AGAIN”

That means Prayer for our leaders. ALL of them. The evil ones too..

But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, (Matthew 5:44)

Prayer for the Body of Messiah:

praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— (Ephesians 6:18)

Especially now! Judgement always begins with the house of God. The last decade has proven that.

I also caution against this neo–Christianity I see popping up everywhere. It is a far-right form of Godliness that is ever concerned with conspiracy theories, and politics. Oh, and by the way, IT is hugely Anti-Semitic at its core. My heart breaks for them. Many of them once served the Kingdom with me in various ministries.  My heart breaks because they and large segments of the Church will be cut off and rejected.

Well said. Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear. For if God did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either. Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off. (Romans 11:20–22)

I exhort all of you brethren to remain in the faith. Press into the Word of God. Continue to bring the Good News to the lost. The timer is running, and the LORD is coming soon.

DO NOT BURY the talents the Master has given us to invest!

Shalom,

Brian

I couldn’t agree more except that we need to not succumb to being fatalistic. Resting in Christ does not include that as in what will be will be. Prayer does change things & the prayer of the righteous does carry weight with the Lord. God wanted to kill all His chosen people & start over with Moses because of that calf. But Moses prayed fervently for the Lord to relent & our merciful God did just that. My point is we can’t ignore the news, manipulated or not or our un-Godly “leaders” but we must pray that we pray God’s will according to Scripture & our discernment from the Holy Spirit.

I agree!! To Clarify: Being off the media bandwagon I do not imply totally off the grid as it were. I recommend everyone to keep very informed to the topics. But don’t get caught up in the 24 hour cycle. It is a massive clanging gong at that point. In Ministry, I have seen more than a few believers succumb to serious anxiety and depression due to over indulgence in the news cycle. A friend mine runs Worthy Christian News which is a compiler site and totally devoid of punditry. There are many decent Christian News sites out there.

Amen, indeed! Thank you so much for posting this — I have been feeling very low these last few days; but this has really brought me up and dispelled the clouds. It is not only the bad things happening in the world that we must not allow to distract us or get us down; but also personal matters, things to do with family &c. Problems in that regard can be some of satan’s most deadly weapons, and sometimes it is a tremendous fight just to keep one’s head above the water. But Jesus is always there to keep one from sinking, just like He was for Peter when He called Him to come to Him on the water. And this time, for me, His hand used this article to pick me up. Thank you Jesus! 🙂

To HIM be all glory!!! Know this: No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the LORD. (Isaiah 54:17)

Absolutely! That is a tremendous verse (as if the rest of the Bible verses are not!). I try very hard to always remember that, and Psalm 37, too, which I consider a kind of Life Anthem, as it were. Sometimes it is terribly hard not to fret and bother; but it is true that it only causes harm, and God always makes a way to experience His peace if you look to Him for it, and that time it was through your article — which He doubtless inspired you to write. Praise the Lord for His goodness! 🙂

  3. Replacement theology people won’t make the kingdom by and large, not for their totally unscriptural belief but for their doctrines and how they act from them.

I wouldn’t go to the extent of how many make it or not. That is far beyond my purview. I leave that to the one that will Judge us all. BUT YES! you are very correct, it is in how one acts upon the errors they are steeped in.

Well thought out and written… yes MAGA for the believer is just as you say… Make America Godly Again! Praying for our leaders and thank you for rightly dividing our Living Creator God’s Word…
    Blessings. Maranatha.

Amen, brother Brian. The Lord bless and keep you in His wonderful care.
