Wars and rumors of wars – political upheaval and MAGA…

Recently I have heard some folks barking about the coming nuclear war with Russia. Thankfully, I have been off the media bandwagon since 2020. Could it be that the media is nothing more than pure entertainment? I do keep up on current events and filter all the nonsensical drivel out. I refuse to listen to pundits ranting about how “The Sky is Falling” or a boy crying “WOLF”.

While I certainly can understand lost souls of the world being fixated on such useless things, I cannot, for the life of me, understand why “professed” believers in Jesus let the media harlot suck the life out of them.

If you have faith in almighty God, an understanding of His Word, and trust Him fully, why let such current events rattle you?

“You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end. (Matthew 24:6)

As far as political landscapes, I really have nothing but contempt for it including “Our Side”

There are far too many believers who are so fixated on the current political shift that they literally have lost sight of Jesus. Now that the American Election is over, they all but seem ready to go back to sleep.  Hey, I’m glad it worked out the way it did. Nevertheless, it is just a temporary stay of execution for my nation. After all it is the candidate God chooses 100% of the time.

“It is He who changes the times and the epochs; He removes kings and establishes kings; He gives wisdom to wise men And knowledge to men of understanding. (Daniel 2:21)

While I am thankful the lunatics were ousted (for now) we must be cautious not to place any hope on the incoming regime. We have merely substituted evil debauchery for pride.

Do not trust in princes, In mortal man, in whom there is no salvation. (Psalm 146:3)

The only MAGA I am interested in is:

“MAKE AMERICA GODLY AGAIN”

That means Prayer for our leaders. ALL of them. The evil ones too..

But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, (Matthew 5:44)

Prayer for the Body of Messiah:

praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— (Ephesians 6:18)

Especially now! Judgement always begins with the house of God. The last decade has proven that.

I also caution against this neo–Christianity I see popping up everywhere. It is a far-right form of Godliness that is ever concerned with conspiracy theories, and politics. Oh, and by the way, IT is hugely Anti-Semitic at its core. My heart breaks for them. Many of them once served the Kingdom with me in various ministries.  My heart breaks because they and large segments of the Church will be cut off and rejected.

Well said. Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear. For if God did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either. Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off. (Romans 11:20–22)

I exhort all of you brethren to remain in the faith. Press into the Word of God. Continue to bring the Good News to the lost. The timer is running, and the LORD is coming soon.

DO NOT BURY the talents the Master has given us to invest!

Shalom,

Brian

SHAALU SHALOM YERUSHALAYIM

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May they prosper who love you. (Psalm 122:6)

You know… I’m not a republican, nor a democrat, nor a capitalist, nor a socialist. Nope, I’m none of those. I am a Monarchist in wait for my King to return. When we pray for the peace of Jerusalem we are not praying for peace as the world sees it. It’s not a “Kumbaya” let’s all get a long and be “diverse” hippy sense of peace. Nope. You see, that type of peace is a peace that is unobtainable. You know why? Because of us.

“The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it? (Jeremiah 17:9)

But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies. (Matthew 15:18–19)

There is only one way that the world will know peace. It is when the King (Jesus) returns. He is coming back to Jerusalem and in that day will sit on David’s throne in the Millennium Kingdom.

The Lord has sworn in truth to David; He will not turn from it: “I will set upon your throne the fruit of your body. (Psalm 132:11)

Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, He would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne, (Acts 2:30)

Therefore, when we pray for the peace of Jerusalem we are truly praying for the return of Jesus.

HE is coming again not to save the church:

Those of the “church” that are truly born again, are already saved. Though we might face persecution and death at the hands of the wicked ones, we nevertheless are saved. There are far worse things that happen to men than dying.

And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. (Matthew 10:28)

If indeed you are truly HIS, then death and calamities of this world are moot.

As a soldier that served in a combat arms role, there was a saying. Do not consume yourself with fear of being killed, it will cripple you. Accept the fact that you are already dead, and then you will function as a soldier must.

As saved believers, we must understand that we are already born again into new life, eternal life. The sooner you realize you will dwell forever in the presence of Almighty God, then you will realize whatever the world will do to you is meaningless and you will function as a servant of The Messiah should.

Even if a moderate time of peace and stability affords me a death of old age, my body nevertheless is going to die anyways.

All go to one place: all are from the dust, and all return to dust. (Ecclesiastes 3:20)

And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. (Romans 8:10)

Yeah, but what about those raptured? Even then the body is transformed. The old corruptible flesh is no more, in a sense the old body is dead to you.

HE is coming again to save the House of Israel:

In that day The LORD will remember His covenant HE made with Jacob (Israel).  “And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn. (Zechariah 12:10)

Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen. (Revelation 1:7)

And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: “The Deliverer will come out of Zion, And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob; For this is My covenant with them, When I take away their sins.” Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers. For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. (Romans 11:26–29)

This is what we pray for when praying for the peace of Jerusalem.

Does this mean we should not pray for peace now in Israel? Or for that matter peace anywhere else in the world.

By no means, NO! We DO need to intercede and pray concerning this current war in Israel. We need to Pray that the evils of Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran (Yes Iran has fingerprints all over this) are defeated. We need to pray for the lost souls Israeli as well Gazan to come to saving knowledge of Jesus. We need to pray without ceasing as the Word tells us.  pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies. (1 Thessalonians 5:17–20)

My dear friend Avner (an Israeli follower of Yeshua, living 25.5 miles away from Gaza) recently penned:

How should we then pray?

As tanks begin to roll, here are some bullet points to be praying about:

  • Pray for ‘Shock and awe’ to be successfully carried out by the IDF to thwart the years of planning that Hamas has done – tunnels, mines, commando teams whose job is to kidnap IDF soldiers, and to even make off with their dead bodies. Davidic divine strategies as in Psalm 144:1: “Blessed be YHVH my rock, Who trains my hands for war and my fingers for battle!”
  • Pray for clarity of strategy, purpose and resolve for Israel’s leaders to deal a final death-blow to Hamas in Gaza – total and unconditional surrender of Hamas and Islamic Jihad, and total removal from Gaza for them both
  • Pray for revelation to Israel’s leaders that YHVH Himself gave Gaza to the tribe of Judah  (see Joshua 15:20-47) and that this is Israel’s true biblical inheritance. Former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s disengagement under strong American pressure was key to leading us into this horrific situation. Here is a quote from 2005 – during the Israeli disengagement from Gaza – by Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who warned Israel that disengaging from Gaza was not enough; the entire West Bank needed to be handed over to the PLO/Hamas: “Because the real point about Gaza is not to stop with Gaza. The President has been clear, we’ve been clear with the Israelis that it cannot be Gaza only” (U.S. Department of State Office of the Spokesman, Shannon, Ireland; June 17, 2005. Press briefing by Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to the traveling press en route to Shannon, Ireland June 17, 2005)
  • Pray for the leaders of your nation to receive a revelation of God as the Captain of the armies of Israel (see 1 Samuel 17:45): “But David said to the Philistine, ‘You come to me with a sword, a spear, and a saber, but I come to you in the name of YHVH of armies, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.’”
  • Pray for minimal loss of life on all sides except for Hamas and Islamic Jihad.
  • Pray for revelation and clarity to be imparted by the God of Israel to the world intelligence community who have not yet understood what jihad is all about and are fogged as to how to deal with it decisively
  • Pray that God would hold back a regional war involving Hamas, Hezbollah, Syria, Iran, Turkey, the Yemenite Houthis and other superpowers
  • Pray for the physical rescue of the many Israelis (perhaps over 200, including babies) kidnapped by Hamas
  • Pray for the raising up of Ezekiel’s prophetic Jewish army throughout the earth

Avner Boskey Newsletter 10/21/2023

The prophetic clock is ticking. Get up off your backsides and get out in the world and share the Gospel! This after all, is what you are commanded to do. The hour is getting late.

Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” (Matthew 9:37–38)

Get to work!

War & Strife in the Holy Land Just who owns “The Land”?

For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle (Zechariah 14:2a)

The Israeli-Palestinian conflict explained – World Peace Tracts

Does this recent Middle East War surprise anyone? You see, right now there is an appearance of world support for Israel. But as plain is the nose on my face, I see where this is leading. As of now the mass media drumbeat is starting to shine its eyes on Gaza and civilians getting killed. When the IDF does what it must, there will be casualties, and the global media will be all but happy to magnify that reality thusly to turn world opinion against Israel. It is only a matter of time before the media will treat Israel like a pariah despite the IDF going out of their way to mitigate civilian loss of life. As appalling as it is to see innocent civilians killed, it nevertheless is a necessary evil of war, one I do not like to see.

I hear a lot of “This response needs to be proportional…” Well, proportional isn’t how war works. War is not about being fair and equal. It is about destroying what wants to destroy you.

Pearl Harbor attack | Date, History, Map, Casualties, Timeline, & Facts | Britannica

We all agree that World War II was a righteous fight for the allies, yes? Let’s just look at one small part. The struggle against the US and Imperial Japan. The Empire of Japan attacked Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941. The US was totally caught off guard just as Israel was on October 7th, 2023.  When the US was attacked 2,403 Americans were killed, 68 of which were civilians. This pulled America into a global war, and as Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto claimed: “I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve.” By the end of the war the Japanese lost over half a million civilians most killed by the US in bombing raids. Well, that doesn’t seem very “proportional” does it?

“What a murderous America”… WAIT! Indeed, those numbers seem cruel and unfair and disproportional. And if the current media was reporting back then, they would have sold it as how evil of the US to do this, How America committed atrocities, and bla bla bla..  Again, war is NOT fair. And to save lives you must wage war with such overwhelming brutal force  to bring it to a conclusion as FAST as possible.

Air raids on Japan - Wikipedia

Had the US not bombed Japan as overwhelmingly as it did, MOST assuredly the Allies would have had to invade mainland Japan. This would have undoubtedly cost the lives of hundreds of thousands, if not nearing a million allied men killed. Not to mention the Japanese would have nearly ALL fought to the death as well as mass suicides. Like the images of Okinawan  mothers holding their infants and plunging themselves off cliffs to their death.

It was because of those mass casualties inflicted that lives were saved. Not only those of the allies but those of the Japanese. Had the mainland been invaded, one of the world’s greatest cultures, the Japanese people, would have effectively ceased to exist. And that would have been WAY MORE tragic/costly than what the actual casualties were.

Hamas is pure evil and must be destroyed. For Israel not to do so now will result in more Israeli and many more Arab civilians killed.

Now to the issue. The war is a result of Israel being an occupier. Truth be told, just about every culture occupied or has conquered its current homeland.  But, with regards to the Holy Land, GOD Himself has decided who will live there and when they shall live there. There is an actual deed issued by the LORD himself.

Let’s see just who owns that land.

Old City Jerusalem must-see sites - from towers to Kotel tunnels

Jerusalem is one of the most fascinating places I have ever walked. It is a city of gold when the sun rests upon her at its rising or setting. It is Holy to Jewish people, Christians, and Muslims alike. It has an enormous history dating back to Abraham. In fact, it is the epicenter of the earth. Many people of many faiths all lay claim to her (Zion).

“It will come about in that day that I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who lift it will be severely injured. And all the nations of the earth will be gathered against it” (Zechariah 12:3).

There is perhaps no more hotly debated issue than the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, how Israel is an “Apartheid state that stole the land from the rightful owners, the Palestinians.” Well, let us allow for truth to permeate this topic, shall we?

Types of Deeds and Covenants in New Jersey

I got this legal book here called “The Bible.” When I opened it to search for a deed to the Holy Land, guess what? Yes, I found it. Not surprisingly, in multiple places. Can you say, “Replete”? Good! It is today’s word of the day. SO Almighty God, the creator of ALL things, ruler of ALL rulers – He is the One that has the final say in this matter. He has spoken, not in some obscure passage you must cryptically cipher, but He has stated repeatedly and quite clearly. So then let us check off all the boxes and see just who has the deed to the Holy Land.

So, who is the owner?

“The earth is the LORD’S, and all it contains, The world, and those who dwell in it” (Psalm 24:1).

Righto, that scripture tells us that everything there is in existence is rightfully belongs to the LORD. Therefore, if God wished to give something to someone, He jolly well can. He is, after all, sovereign. Interestingly, in the Word of God, He in his infinite wisdom gave a specific place, to a specific man and his family (a specific people group):

“The LORD said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him, ‘Now lift up your eyes and look from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward; for all the land which you see, I will give it to you and to your descendants forever’” (Genesis 13:14-15).

So then, The Owner of everything just gave a land to a man and his descendants, forever! Aha! You object, saying the Palestinians (Arabs) are descendants of Abraham. In fact, Abraham fathered MANY nations, so there! Ok, granted that is true:

“Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying, ‘As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, And you will be the father of a multitude of nations. No longer shall your name be called Abram, But your name shall be Abraham; For I have made you the father of a multitude of nations’” (Genesis 17:3-5).

However, do you recall the word for today? Yes, replete. God has a lot to say concerning this, and unless you are steeped in the erroneous doctrine of replacement theology, whereas you need to twist plain scripture into a pretzel, it will become evidently clear.

Everlasting Covenant

Concisely, a covenant was when two parties would enter an agreement by cutting animals in half, then by walking between the cut parts, vowing “May this happen to us” if they violate their agreement. The Hebrew word for covenant literally means to cut.

“The birds of prey came down upon the carcasses, and Abram drove them away. Now when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and behold, terror and great darkness fell upon him” (Genesis 15:11-12).

God sent birds of prey down upon the carcasses, and thus Abraham likely wore himself out fending them away. We see here that Abraham fell into a deep sleep. Then something interesting happens:

“It came about when the sun had set, that it was very dark, and behold, there appeared a smoking oven and a flaming torch which passed between these pieces. On that day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, ‘To your descendants I have given this land, From the river of Egypt as far as the great river, the river Euphrates: the Kenite and the Kenizzite and the Kadmonite and the Hittite and the Perizzite and the Rephaim and the Amorite and the Canaanite and the Girgashite and the Jebusite” (Genesis 15:17-21).

Notice in those passages, only one party passed between the pieces. God Himself. Therefore, if God cannot lie, cannot fail, and cannot deny Himself, can he violate his agreement with Abraham? Absolutely not! Thus, the LORD gave the Land to Abraham’s descendants. He also laid out the geographic area so there can be NO discrepancy of what area we are talking about.

But which descendants? Right, let us go there!

“But God said, ‘No, but Sarah your wife will bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; and I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him. As for Ishmael, I have heard you; behold, I will bless him, and will make him fruitful and will multiply him exceedingly. He shall become the father of twelve princes, and I will make him a great nation’” (Genesis 17:19-20).

Righto, that crosses Ishmael and his descendants off the list. Ismael is largely believed to be the father of the Arab peoples.

Everlasting Covenant. - ppt download

Thus, God established the Everlasting Covenant with Abraham’s son Isaac and his descendants after him. Indeed, Isaac had two sons, (fraternal twins) Esau born first, and then Jacob second. Therefore, by birthright, Esau is the heir to this promise, right? Well, yes but… “Isaac prayed to the LORD on behalf of his wife, because she was barren; and the LORD answered him and Rebekah his wife conceived. But the children struggled together within her; and she said, ‘If it is so, why then am I this way?’ So she went to inquire of the LORD. The LORD said to her, ‘Two nations are in your womb; And two peoples will be separated from your body; And one people shall be stronger than the other; And the older shall serve the younger’” (Genesis 25:21-23).

The LORD God, in His omniscience, knew that a meddling mother would plot to have her favorite son steal the birthright through deception. “Now Isaac loved Esau, because he had a taste for game, but Rebekah loved Jacob” (Genesis 25:28).

File:Jacob and Rebekah.jpg - Wikipedia

Please read Genesis chapter 27 to learn about this plot and deception. Sadly, for Rebecca, her meddling cost her from seeing her son Jacob ever again.

So then, the blessing of birthright passed to Jacob. Jacob, while fleeing for his life from Esau’s anger, encountered GOD on the way to Haran. God re-affirmed the Everlasting Covenant to Jacob:

“And behold, the LORD stood above it and said, ‘I am the LORD, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie, I will give it to you and to your descendants. Your descendants will also be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west and to the east and to the north and to the south; and in you and in your descendants shall all the families of the earth be blessed’” (Genesis 28:13-14).

It seems quite clear to me that Jacob and His descendants were given this land forever. God must have REALLY wanted us to know this fact. Since the word for the day is replete…

“then I will remember My covenant with Jacob, and I will remember also My covenant with Isaac, and My covenant with Abraham as well, and I will remember the land” (Leviticus 26:42).

“He has remembered His covenant forever, The word which He commanded to a thousand generations, The covenant which He made with Abraham, And His oath to Isaac. Then He confirmed it to Jacob for a statute, To Israel as an everlasting covenant, Saying, ‘To you I will give the land of Canaan As the portion of your inheritance’” (Psalm 105:8-11).

“He is the LORD our God; His judgments are in all the earth. Remember His covenant forever, The word which He commanded to a thousand generations, The covenant which He made with Abraham, And His oath to Isaac. He also confirmed it to Jacob for a statute, To Israel as an everlasting covenant, Saying, ‘To you I will give the land of Canaan, As the portion of your inheritance’” (1 Chronicles 16:14-18).

Everlasting Covenant. When, pray tell, does that end exactly? Everlasting means without end maybe? So then, the Holy Land today still belongs to the Jewish people, the descendants of Jacob. It did not expire, nor was it given to other people. These are literal words commanded from Almighty God, stating QUITE clearly who the land belongs to.

No, the Jewish people were not cast off and the promises given to the church. In fact, God Himself answers the question of the Jewish people being cast out and cast away:

“Thus says the LORD, Who gives the sun for light by day And the fixed order of the moon and the stars for light by night, Who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar; The LORD of hosts is His name: ‘If this fixed order departs From before Me,’ declares the LORD, ‘Then the offspring of Israel also will cease From being a nation before Me forever.’ Thus says the LORD, ‘If the heavens above can be measured And the foundations of the earth searched out below, Then I will also cast off all the offspring of Israel For all that they have done,’ declares the LORD” (Jeremiah 31:35-37).

Well then, that seals that. I am certain all those calamities have not happened. I am no genius, but I think I can tell that the sun and stars are still there. Therefore, God has not forgotten His Covenant, His People, or His land.

File:19480516 PalestinePost Israel is born.jpg - Wikipedia

Long before May 14th, 1948, God said the Jewish people shall return to their own land. The modern State of Israel was born in a single day, before the pains and trials of birth. Most nations are born or after a struggle for independence. Israel was an exception, being born with no pain; then the struggle came afterwards. Just as Isaiah foretold:

“Before she travailed, she brought forth; Before her pain came, she gave birth to a boy, Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Can a land be born in one day? Can a nation be brought forth all at once? As soon as Zion travailed, she also brought forth her sons. Shall I bring to the point of birth and not give delivery?’ says the LORD. ‘Or shall I who gives delivery shut the womb?’ says your God” (Isaiah 66:7-9).

“Then it will happen on that day that the Lord Will again recover the second time with His hand The remnant of His people, who will remain, From Assyria, Egypt, Pathros, Cush, Elam, Shinar, Hamath, And from the islands of the sea. And He will lift up a standard for the nations And assemble the banished ones of Israel, And will gather the dispersed of Judah From the four corners of the earth” (Isaiah 11:11-12).

For a second time. That rules out this prophecy being attributed to Babylonian exile. What other time were the Jewish people uprooted? Indeed so, I believe this refers to the scattering by the Roman empire after The Bar Kokhba revolt. Oh, yes… “Replete”:

“Do not fear, for I am with you; I will bring your offspring from the east, And gather you from the west. I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’ And to the south, ‘Do not hold them back.’ Bring My sons from afar And My daughters from the ends of the earth” (Isaiah 43:5-6).

“Also I will restore the captivity of My people Israel, And they will rebuild the ruined cities and live in them; They will also plant vineyards and drink their wine, And make gardens and eat their fruit. I will also plant them on their land, And they will not again be rooted out from their land Which I have given them,’ Says the LORD your God” (Amos 9:14-15).

These prophecies have been and are currently being fulfilled to this day. The scattered remnant is going home. I also believe it is a matter of time before God even pries His people out of America and back home to the land given them by God.

Brethren, I know this has been a concise treatment on the subject. I hope this sheds some light on just who has the deed to the Holy Land. God’s word is quite clear on the Jewish people being the rightful owners of the land. I earnestly challenge that you examine all the scriptures I quoted in totality. Knowing these scriptures will help arm yourself against those who try to assert the Jewish people have no right to the Land they inhabit. I highly recommend a good reading of Jeremiah chapter 31 as it will summarize this EVERLASTING COVENANT.

Also, I challenge you to think on these questions:

  1. If God changed His mind about His promise to the Jewish people, what is to stop Him from changing His mind about the church and salvation through Jesus Christ?
  2. Where is your eternal security if God can lie, fail, and deny Himself?

Food for thought…

Shalom,

Brian

Have You Tested Yourself????

Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you—unless indeed you fail the test? (2 Corinthians 13:5)

The Biblical fall holidays are here. It’s that time of the year again! ~BUT~ everyday SHOULD be that time of the year again!

As indeed dark days befall upon us, perhaps now is a good time to look inward upon ourselves. It is easy to look at the external world in chaos, a Church in apostasy, and even our own families in disorder. But how often do we examine ourselves?  Let’s face it, we still do miss the mark and fail. There were times in my life that I ran far from God, and was mired in a back-slidden state where I looked no different than the world around me. Praise the Lord that HE is the Good Shepherd and leaves the 99 to go after the one. ALL of us at one time or another were that one lost sheep.

Indeed, God is a God of LOVE. His Mercy and Grace run deep.  Nevertheless, this does not give us license to sin as we please. Run far away from and totally ignore the hyper-grace that promotes licentious living. So called Christians that accept homosexuality (or whatever sinful habit) as if it is OK with God. Just you go on in that condition, because God loves you. ******WARNING DANGER WARNING*********

God tells us differently: “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ (Matthew 7:21–23)

Pin on False Teachers of God's Word.

Well, I’ll be… That seems to be a different tune then what those false teachers are tickling in my ear. “Depart from me” says Jesus, the One who will Judge humanity. I’m not an Einstein, not even an Ein, or even a Stein, but, I think I would rather err on the side of what Almighty God says than foolish man. Perhaps it is wise to heed the words of Jesus rather than discard them.

My wife Marie once asked me. “Do you fear the end times coming?” I sincerely put some thought into that and responded, “I fear God.  As believers, it’ll do us good to fear the LORD. After all it is deemed wise… “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. (Proverbs 9:10)

Knowing this, do we ever take enough time to examine ourselves? I honestly must admit, no. There are things with me that need to change. I am by far not where I need be, but PRAISE THE LORD, I am not where I once was. Nevertheless, we all can use time to examine and correct (repent). The Bible is replete with the theme of repentance and turning back to God.

About — TESHUVA

Starting next week in Judaism, starts the season of the High Holy Days and the Ten Days of Awe. These are the Biblical feast of Rosh Hashanah (feast of Trumpets) and Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) A central theme of the holidays is “Teshuva” (Hebrew: תשובה‎, literally, “return”) It is akin to repentance. Whereas repent is turning away from sin and Teshuva is returning to God. Ps 51 the famous Psalm of repentance known in Judaism as Perak Teshuva, David, a man after God’s heart (as proclaimed by God Himself) fell into sin with Bathsheba, and had her husband murdered to cover it up up. When confronted by the prophet Nathan, David replied “I have sinned”:  Have mercy upon me, O God, According to Your lovingkindness; According to the multitude of Your tender mercies, Blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions, And my sin is always before me. Against You, You only, have I sinned, And done this evil in Your sight— That You may be found just when You speak, And blameless when You judge. (Psalm 51:1–4)

There is no sin too deep that is beyond the forgiveness of God. But you must turn back to Him and repent. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)

Let us look deeply at our own faults and return to Him: Let us search out and examine our ways, And turn back to the Lord; (Lamentations 3:40)

As believers we must always examine ourselves. It is a practice that will do us well. Lord knows it is very easy to see the faults in the wicked world, and the faults of other believers. I do believe that we must examine ourselves firstly then out to the exterior. And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. (Matthew 7:3–5)

If you are not saved and do not know the LORD, I earnestly appeal to you to seek Him now!  Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near. (Isaiah 55:6)

He is, after-all patient: The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9), but sooner or later the door of the ark will close, and the flood will consume you. for He says, “At the acceptable time I listened to you, And on the day of salvation I helped you.” Behold, now is “the acceptable time,” behold, now is “the day of salvation”— (2 Corinthians 6:2)

MY WORD OF HOPE: Is your name written in the Lamb's Book of Life? with Last Harvest-The Outreach

Let us all spend some time in self-examination and teshuva/ repent where needed!

Our Jewish friends this time of year say: L’shanah tovah tikatev v’taihatem. May you and yours be inscribed and sealed in the Book of Life for a good and sweet new year.

To that, I say. May your name be found written in the Lamb’s book of Life! ‘He who overcomes will thus be clothed in white garments; and I will not erase his name from the book of life, and I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. (Revelation 3:5) It is MOST importance to be inscribed into this book! And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:15)

Shalom,

Brian
