On Wednesday’s broadcast of CNBC’s “Squawk Box,” Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-NY) stated that if Columbia University President Minouche Shafik had threatened to expel or revoke the visas of students in the encampment on campus and fire members of the faculty who were in the encampment and followed through on these threats, “this situation could have been resolved decisively. But once there’s a crisis of confidence in the leader of the university, then chaos ensues.”
After Torres stated that students and professors who violate school policy or the law should face consequences, co-host Andrew Ross Sorkin asked, “But does that mean these professors need to be fired, the ones that are engaged in this?”
Torres answered, “I think what we need is decisive leadership. If the President had made it crystal clear that if you fail to vacate the encampment, you’re going to face expulsion or you’re going to face a revocation of your visa or you’re going to face firing, when you have a credible threat of accountability, and follow through on those threats, then this situation could have been resolved decisively. But once there’s a crisis of confidence in the leader of the university, then chaos ensues.”
Somethings doesn’t pass the smell test for me. They bring in the new president of Columbia who goes before Congress to answer questions about anti-Semitism on the campus.
The timing is what bothers me – something is just not right. Yes, she did call in the police to quell the violent behavior, but she could have threatened to revoke the Visas of many ‘students’ and that alone would have stopped mush of the chaos.
PRAY Brethren – pray for the safety of the Jewish students and the safety of the officers.
The lawless Pro-Palestinian protestors, who chant about the end of Israel, continue to whine about the possibility of being expelled from the school ……
Every one of them should be expelled immediately!

For a good while now, most young people have not been trained to think straight, or to be accountable for their actions. They think they can do whatever they like and then face no negative consequences. Noisy twerps springs to mind again… 😀
Obviously, this is mostly the fault of governments, and how degraded they have allowed education systems to become — they are schooling brats, and only children who have been raised better, and WANT to be something more than the system offers to make them, seem to turn out anything like good. It sounds awful, and it is. It is what I see when I look around me, and I wish it were not so. But I can’t pretend it isn’t.
That said, the photograph at the head of your article about the U.S. flag being pulled down and then rescued by those young men illustrates this. They showed great courage and decency, and I was very struck upon looking at the picture how decent each one of them appeared — none of the yobs, scrogs and goons just about all the ‘protesters’ look (when you can see their cowardly faces at all) in the photographs showing them.
So many so obviously belong to satan these days, and I pray that many of those ‘protesters’ might be saved, but also that God will very soon remove us from this hell-hole and let the antichrist have his measly fling so that He can come back and sort everything out for good and all — surely the vileness of these times cries out to Heaven against all the evil going on!

I worked alongside young students for 13 years in a senior living facility. I was an activities director and they were the care givers supposedly providing care for the elderly. Many of these young adults were absolutely empty headed. Their typical response was to laugh at everything, make sure they were caught up on all the gossip and they would forget their instructions and duties. When you spoke with them they seemed to stare off into space, they would say ok and then walk off forgetting what was said. They were in school but it seemed there was no particular goal at the finish line. I started to think of them as zombies. They seemed to act together as a group and at the end of my time working there, they were always on their phones looking at social media. The management put up with them b/c they had their own issues and good work is hard to find especially with the low pay and work demands. Profit for the company was always the bottom line. This was before covid.
Anyway, these students from the higher learning collages seem just as bad and the administrators seem to be in it for their own gain. Same game but higher class.
Of course there are a lot of fine exceptions and i am grateful for the youth that have good sense and integrity (some in spite of great disadvantages).
But i have seen the trend thru the years and it has been quite the decline both for the young and that of the leadership.
Well, you have certainly seen it close at hand then and are much more qualified than I to give an opinion.
It is very sad to see people become such a wreckage of what God intended us to be when He created us, and I really do pray that Jesus will soon call us out of this madhouse up to the clouds to be with Him, so that these evil times can play out to their end and then Jesus return and establish His Kingdom on earth — at last!
There is nothing I wouldn’t lay aside right away, to just go to Him, and if in the meantime any of these poor lost zombie-like people, young or old, can be saved and given entrance to the Kingdom, then I am glad that they had enough time, though the wait is hard to bear sometimes — I would certainly be willing to wait few more minutes if I was given the choice of pushing a button that would bring Jesus back that moment, if I could see someone about to be saved in that time, rather than damn them so I could escape. Sometimes I find thinking that helps me to get by 🙂
Thankfully a person can still call on the name of Jesus after the rapture. It will cost them their life but if they can get past the deep deception and finally understand, they can be saved. There will be the 2 witnesses, the angel and the 144,000 to tell them. I always tell people if it comes to that, give up your life for Jesus and never bow down to the one in power. So much better if they can come to Him now.
