VERSES TO LIVE BY IN THESE DARK TIMES

A wonderful brother in Christ sent God’s Word to me along with the admonishment to read, memorize, meditate upon and TRUST the Word of the Lord. I use the word admonishment because this truly is a warning from the Lord to immerse ourselves in His Holy Word.

VERSES TO LIVE BY

Ephesians 6: 10-17 10  Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in
the power of His might. 11  Put on the whole armor of God, that ye
may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12  For we wrestle
not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against
powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against
spiritual wickedness in high places. 13  Wherefore take unto you the
whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day,
and having done all, to stand. 14  Stand therefore, having your loins
girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of
righteousness; 15  And your feet shod with the preparation of the
gospel of peace;
16  Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to
quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17  And take the helmet of
salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God / the
Word of Truth !:

Yes, it truly is our sharp weapon per Eph 6: 17 “…take(also)…the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of
Truth”!

We should be ADEPT with it, RIGHTLY DIVIDING that word of truth per II Tim 2:15, and be READY TO GIVE
ANSWER to all who inquire of us I Peter 3:15
We should be FAMILIAR WITH IT (READ DAILY) per Acts 17:11, (KNOW IT (MEDITATE) Joshua 1:8 and STORE
IT WITHIN (MEMORIZE IT) Psalm 119:11, TRUST IT – II Tim 3:16, BELIEVE His Word will come to pass – Isaiah
55:11
2 Timothy 2:15 15  Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a
workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the
word of truth.
1 Peter 3:15 15  But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and
be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh
you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and
fear:
Acts 17:11   These were more noble …, in that they received the
word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures
daily, whether those things were so.

Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy
mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou

mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein:
for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou
shalt have good success.
Psalm 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might
not sin against thee.
2 Timothy 3:16   All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and
is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for
instruction in righteousness
Isaiah 55:11   So shall My word be that goeth forth out of my
mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish
that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I
sent it.

KNOW YOUR STAND IN CHRIST

Romans 10:9-10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the
Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath
raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10  For with the
heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth
confession is made unto salvation.

John 1:12   But as many as received Him, to them gave He
power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe
on His name:
1 John 1:9   If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to
forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness.

THE GREAT COMMANDMENTS
Matthew 22: 37-40 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the
Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with
all thy mind.
38  This is the first and great commandment.
39  And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor
as thyself.
40  On these two commandments hang all the law and the
prophets

DON’T BE ANXIOUS,
BUT FAITHFULLY TRUSTING

Phil 4:6 Be careful (anxious or worried) for nothing; but in
every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving
let your requests be made known unto God.

I Thessalonians 5:18 In everything give thanks: for this is
the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

BE IN HIS GOOD WILL – FORGIVEN & FORGIVING

Matthew 6:9-15
After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in
heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10  Thy kingdom come, Thy will
be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 11  Give us this day our daily
bread. 12  And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For
thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.
Amen.
14  For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father
will also forgive you: 15  But if ye forgive not men their
trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

FOCUS ON HIS HOLINESS, RIGHTEOUSNESS, NOT THE WORLDLY

Phil 4:8   Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true,
whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just,
whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely,
whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue,
and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Phil 4:3   Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory
(conceit); but in lowliness of mind let each esteem each
other better than themselves.

BEAR HIS FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT, NOT THE OLD WORKS OF THE FLESH

Gal 5: 22-25 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23  Meekness,
temperance: against such there is no law. 24  And they that are
Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
25  If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
Gal 5: 19-22 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are
these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness
(shameful doings), 20  Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance
(quarrelling), emulations (malicious zeal), wrath, strife,
seditions (divisions), heresies, 21  envyings (jealousies),
murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I
tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they
which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

KNOW HE JUDGES ALL MY THOUGHTS
AS WELL AS WORDS & DEEDS

Matthew 5:28   But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a
woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her
already in his heart.
1 Timothy 5:1-2  Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a
father; and the younger men as brethren; 2  Treat the elder
women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity.

John 14: 15-16,21-23
If ye love me, keep My commandments. 16  And I will pray the Father, and He shall
give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you for ever;
21  He that hath My commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth Me: and he
that loveth Me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest
myself to him…. 23  Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love Me, he will keep
My words: and my Father will love him, and We will come unto him, and make our
abode with Him.

DEAL WITH ADVERSITY & PERSECUTIONS

Luke 6: 28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which
despitefully use you.
Matthew 5:11-12   Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you,
and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you
falsely, for my sake. 12  Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for
great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the
prophets which were before you.
Romans 12:18-19   If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live
peaceably with all men. 19  Dearly beloved, avenge not
yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written,
Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

PRAY FOR THOSE ABUSED FOR THEIR FAITH,

-FOR THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST

Hebrews 13:3
Remember them that are in bonds, as (if you were also) bound
with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being
yourselves also in the body.

PRAY FOR THOSE IN AUTHORITY

I Timothy 2: 1-4 I exhort therefore, that, first of all,
supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be
made for all men;
2  For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a
quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3  For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our
Saviour;
4  Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the
knowledge of the truth.
Romans 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher
powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be
are ordained of God.

CALL EACH ONE TO REPENTANCE, SALVATION & OBEDIENCE

James 5:19-20
Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert
him;
20  Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the
error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a
multitude of sins.
2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men
count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing
that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

PLAN, BUT IN HIS WILL AND GRAND ASSIGNMENT
James 4: 14-15   Whereas ye know not what shall be on the
morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor, that appears
for a little time, and then vanishes away. 15  For that ye ought to
say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that…
Colossians 3:23-24   And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to
the Lord, and not unto men; 24  Knowing that of the Lord ye
shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the
Lord Christ.

Psalm 122:6-9   Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall
prosper that love thee. 7  Peace be within thy walls, and
prosperity within thy palaces. 8  For my brethren and
companions’ sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee.
9  Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek thy
good.

END WELL, STANDING ON HIS PROMISES

Whether He calls you home at final breath, or calls you up together!

Isaiah 46:4 And even to your old age I am he; and even to grey
hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will
carry, and will deliver you.
1 John 2:28-29 And now, little children, abide in him; that,
when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be
ashamed before him at his coming. 29  If ye know that he is
righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is
born of him.
Matthew 25:21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good
and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I
will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy
of thy Lord.

FEEL FREE TO PASS THIS ON, ADD/AMEND – WITHOUT ATTRIBUTION – IT IS HIS WORD !

________________________________________________________________

When I received this in my email, I knew that this wasn’t by chance that this would come to me. I knew that God wanted me to share this with the readership and to pass it on. I also knew the importance of saving this – printing this out – hiding it in our Bibles and in our hearts.

We don’t know just how bad the persecution with become. But we do know this: if we are jailed for our faith, God wants us to share His Word with others who are not saved. We MUST be equipped to do this!! And we MUST hide His Word in our hearts so that we will not sin against him.

I have been feeling so down for the last couple of months. I have also been feeling sorry for myself because my family thinks that I have lost my mind because of my faith and love for Jesus.

The verses of Scripture which were sent by a precious brother helped me to see that this self-pity is used by the devil and is NOT from God! I needed to be reminded to forgive and pray for my family!

HOW CAN I BE SAVED?

The Simple Plan of Salvation

I am asking you the most important question of life. Your joy or your sorrow for all eternity depends upon your answer. The question is: Are you saved? It is not a question of how good you are, nor if you are a church member, but are you saved? Are you sure you will go to Heaven when you die?

God says in order to go to Heaven, you must be born again. In John 3:7, Jesus said to Nicodemus, “Ye must be born again.”

Born again

In the Bible God gives us the plan of how to be born again which means to be saved. His plan is simple! You can be saved today. How?

First, my friend, you must realize you are a sinner. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

For all have sinned

Because you are a sinner, you are condemned to death. “For the wages [payment] of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). This includes eternal separation from God in Hell.

“ . . . it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27).

Judgment

But God loved you so much He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus, to bear your sin and die in your place. “ . . . He hath made Him, Jesus, Who knew no sin to be sin for us . . . that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Corinthians 5:21).

He who had no sin

Jesus had to shed His blood and die. “For the life of the flesh is in the blood” (Lev. 17:11). “ . . . without shedding of blood is no remission [pardon]” (Hebrews 9:22).

Lamb

“ . . . God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).

Christ died for us

Although we cannot understand how, God said my sins and your sins were laid upon Jesus and He died in our place. He became our substitute. It is true. God cannot lie.

My friend, “God commandeth all men everywhere to repent” (Acts 17:30). This repentance is a change of mind that agrees with God that one is a sinner, and also agrees with what Jesus did for us on the Cross.

In Acts 16:30-31, the Philippian jailer asked Paul and Silas: “ . . . ‘Sirs, what must I do to be saved?’ And they said, ‘Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved ’ ”

Believe on the Lord

Simply believe on Him as the one who bore your sin, died in your place, was buried, and whom God resurrected. His resurrection powerfully assures that the believer can claim everlasting life when Jesus is received as Savior.

“But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name” (John 1:12).

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13).

Whosoever

Whosoever includes you. Shall be saved means not maybe, nor can, but shall be saved.

Surely, you realize you are a sinner. Right now, wherever you are, repenting, lift your heart to God in prayer.

In Luke 18:13, the sinner prayed:
“God be merciful to me a sinner.” Just pray: “Oh God, I know I am a sinner. I believe Jesus was my substitute when He died on the Cross. I believe His shed blood, death, burial, and resurrection were for me. I now receive Him as my Savior. I thank You for the forgiveness of my sins, the gift of salvation and everlasting life, because of Your merciful grace. Amen.”

Just take God at His word and claim His salvation by faith. Believe, and you will be saved. No church, no lodge, no good works can save you. Remember, God does the saving. All of it!

God’s simple plan of salvation is: You are a sinner. Therefore, unless you believe on Jesus Who died in your place, you will spend eternity in Hell. If you believe on Him as your crucified, buried, and risen Savior, you receive forgiveness for all of your sins and His gift of eternal salvation by faith.

You say, “Surely, it cannot be that simple.” Yes, that simple! It is scriptural. It is God’s plan. My friend, believe on Jesus and receive Him as Savior today.

If His plan is not perfectly clear, read this tract over and over, without laying it down, until you understand it. Your soul is worth more than all the world.

“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul?” (Mark 8:36).

Be sure you are saved. If you lose your soul, you miss Heaven and lose all. Please! Let God save you this very moment.
God’s power will save you, keep you saved, and enable you to live a victorious Christian life. “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, Who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it” (1 Corinthians 10:13).

Do not trust your feelings. They change. Stand on God’s promises. They never change. After you are saved, there are four things to practice daily for spiritual growth:

Pray — you talk to God.
Read your Bible — God talks to you.Witness — you talk for God.
Join a Bible Study — You will grow in your faith.
Develop relationships with other believers – Fellowship is so important!!

MARANATHA!!
