Spot-On Fox News What Happened In New York Last Night “Needs To Stop”

Message to all purveyors of FAKE & NEGLIGENT News: screaming front page headlines,  such as: ‘This Needs to Stop!’ (Fox News, July 21, 2022)  without even mentioning that the man who allegedly tried to stab Republican New York gubernatorial candidate Rep. Lee Zeldin, only underlines the truth that Fake News is far more the problem than it is any kind of solution.
The story, posted as Fox News’ banner Thursday night, was changed this morning. Above is the Fox News main front page headline as captured by the WayBackMachine:

“Suspect David G. Jakubonis, who jumped on stage and told Zeldin “you’re done” before trying to stab him with a sharp object in the neck, was charged with attempted assault in the second degree. (TownHall, July 22, 2022)

Jakubonis was released on his own recognizance

After this intended deadly deed, Jakubonis was released on his own recognizance within hours of it taking place.

“According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, “Jakubonis was arraigned in Perinton Town Court and released on his own recognizance.”  (TownHall)

“Zeldin said he grabbed the man’s wrist until others at the event jumped in to help. Joe Chenelly, a Marine combat veteran and national executive director of AMVETS, was among those to tackle the suspect.

“His right hand came up, I assume out of his pocket, and he had a blade on his hand,” Chenelly told Fox News Digital about the attack. “His fingers were like two finger holes in the blade and lunged at the congressman. And Congressman Zeldin blocked the first lunge. And then as he tried to lunge again, I grabbed him from behind and tackled him down to the ground and held him on the ground.”

 Zeldin uninjured during the attack

“Zeldin, who was uninjured during the attack, was in the middle of a speech about bail reform. He finished his remarks after the incident.

“Thank you to everyone who reached out following tonight’s attack in Fairport. Someone tried to stab me on stage during this evening’s rally, but fortunately, I was able to grab his wrist and stop him for a few moments until others tackled him,” Zeldin said on Twitter.

“I’m ok, and @EspositoforNY, and all other attendees are safe. The attacker is in custody. Grateful for the attendees who stepped up quickly to assist and the law enforcement officers who quickly responded,” he continued. “I’m as resolute as ever to do my part to make NY safe again.”

“In a follow-up tweet, the Republican lawmaker predicted his attacker would “likely be instantly released under NY’s laws.”

Zeldin Was Right About What Would Happen To Man Who Attacked Him

And time was to prove him right.

While Fox made its report without mentioning that (Jakubonis), was released on his own recognizance, and as of press time had yet to update their story, the news outlet did cite Zeldin’s gubernatorial opponent Democrat Governor Kathy Hochul:

“My team has informed me about the incident at Lee Zeldin’s campaign event tonight. Relieved to hear that Congressman Zeldin was not injured and that the suspect is in custody. I condemn this violent behavior in the strongest terms possible — it has no place in New York,” Hochul said. (Fox News, July 21, 2022)

But the suspect was not in custody, he was out free as a bird, ironically made possible by Hochul’s insane bail policies. SOURCE

I have no words…….. expect

Lawlessness will abound, it will only get worse and worse until we are Raptured. To expect less is a recipe for disappointment, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t continue to pray for righteousness and revival.

    Come Lord Jesus!

  2. “What needs to stop.” This posting covered it all. Murders & attempted ones have been going on since Cain & Abel…that will never stop until we get the new heaven & earth after our sinful nature is purged out of existence. What can stop, that is in man’s power, is doing the right thing by those appointed or elected to do so & keep the public at large safe. Letting dangerous people out on PR is nuts. It’s not complicated. All it requires is common sense.
