When the children were young, I stayed home and was a licensed day care provider. We needed the money and I felt that this would be good for our children and also for the children who would come into our home. I made sure that any prospective parents knew that their children would hear the name of Jesus in our home. I told them that we prayed and I read Bible stories to the children. Most of the parents had no problem with this – some did, so it worked out for everyone.
When our children entered elementary school, I had talks with them about things they might learn in school – things that didn’t match what we read in our Bible. I told them that the Bible was Absolute truth, so if they heard something which contradicted it, then they should always believe the Bible.
I knew that as the children got older, they would learn the lie of EVILution. We would talk about how ridiculous it was to say we come from monkeys. We would read the Creation story in Genesis together.
Witchcraft Books in the Library
One day after I had helped in one of the children’s classes, I went into the school library and began snooping around a bit. Well, it was my children’s school, and we paid our taxes to keep these schools running. I came across a section where there were many books on witchcraft and how to cast spells. I was shocked and angered.
I challenged the school board about keeping these books. Thankfully, they did pull these books out of all schools in our county.
A Christmas Presentation
One late November, the school sent a memo home, asking if there were any parents who would like to share the “spirit” of their holiday. I knew exactly what they were up to. They were expecting people who were not Christians – possibly Muslims, Jewish people, etc.
I filled the paper out and said that I wanted to present Christmas from a “Christian” (not secular) perspective. I used to sing, so I told them that I would be singing sacred carols with the children and that I’d bring my Nativity set with me. I’m certain that I set their teeth on edge, but I didn’t care. Fair was fair. I knew that they would be watching me like a hawk.
The presentation was going so well. The children loved singing along with me. They all were so intrigued by the Nativity set. Then the children were seated on the floor and I was about to read the Christmas story to them from Luke. I began to read and suddenly the Bible was snatched from my hands! The teacher whispered to me “The principal says no reading from the Bible in school.”
I turned back to the kids and said to them “Oh, that’s ok – I know this story by heart!” So I told the children about the coming of our Lord and how the angels alerted shepherds that the Savior of the world was to be born. The children were mesmerized. Afterward, I handed out candy canes. I know that the principal and the teachers were very pleased when I left.
College
If I had known how the enemy of our souls had staged the college experience to belittle and mock Christian students, mostly through the professors; I would have done everything in my power to keep our children from attending. I always wonder if we had insisted that they go to Christian colleges – perhaps they would not have fallen away. Some Christians have told me that some of the Christian schools have liberal professors as well. But it’s hard to believe that it would have been as bad.

The Confession
While I was on Facebook one day, I received a friend request from someone I did not know. I looked at his page and nothing looked familiar. I wrote a message to him and asked how he knew me. He wrote back and told me that he went to college with my son – that they were in the physics program together. He said that he had some things that he had wanted to tell me for a long time, and wanted to ask my forgiveness.
This young man poured out his heart to me. He said that when my son had come to the college, he was a strong Christian. He said that the kids belittled him every chance they could, and that he was among them.
He also told me that the professors on campus were mostly atheists, and that they did everything possible to make Christian students feel small and stupid. He said that he watched my son change – that he became a different person. He told me that he felt responsible because they were good friends.
It seems that this young man had taken Hebrew and Greek – one from a rabbi and the other from a professor. This created a burning in his heart to study the Bible. He said he was not saying that he was looking to be a Christian, it was just that he was brought up in an atheist environment, and he began to wonder about things. He wondered if the things within my son, when he first met him, could be true. He was/is seeking.
I am still Facebook friends with this man. He married an unbeliever, and from what I can see, he is still floundering – but only the Lord knows what is going on in his heart. I continue to pray for him.
Marxism/Socialism on Campuses
Our youngest son was talking to me one day about a book he was reading in college. I don’t remember the name of it, but I know that it had a very strong impact on my son. He told me that patriotism was bad and caused many problems in the world. I told him that was hogwash and that I loved America. I told him that patriotism was a good thing. He would have none of it. The indoctrination had begun.
Satan
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world” (1 Peter 5: 8-9).
If I could give one piece of advice to parents whose children are going away to college, it would be this: Talk to them about what they will be up against. Tell them the importance of praying every day before their classes for the Lord to strengthen them. Stress to them the importance of immersing themselves in the Word and trying to find other believers with whom they can fellowship.
I know that we are all so weary from being in this world. I hope and pray that Jesus comes back soon for us.
The Word of God tells us to comfort one another with these words:
“But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.
“For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God.
And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words” (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).

Yes, the pictures – just the thought of poisoning these people (especially children) is unthinkable. The eyes of the world are on Jerusalem, just as the Bible says. But I do think that the most volatile place on the planet is Syria – specifically Damascus. And the added alliance to Russia and Iran being Turkey – things are really heating up. Saudi Arabia is scared to death of Iran and that is the reason for their change of heart towards Israel.

The same things happened to my son when he went away to college. My Pastor warned me it would probably happen. I remember when he came home from college on weekends he seemed brainwashed with liberalism. It was difficult to talk to him. I never stopped praying for him. It’s been eight years since he’s left college and he is turning back to the Lord. The Lord honors our prayers for our children.

The world is upside down, and truth is being obliterated. Kids today up here more to social media as gospel then the true Gospel. They have swallowed the spiked koolaid, sad to say.
Only through our constant prayers and patience can we calm our nerves. Our hope is in Christ and on His timetable to change things around. Having faith. Knowing this is my strength, for I too, don’t recognize my own child. And I’m “old fashion” in my thinking, so says my kid.
On top of what you’ve discussed today, kids can be whatever gender ‘they feel’ comfortable in, or have no gender association at all. And society is changing the rules to accommodate. Hello! This rebellion is beyond my understanding and I’m ‘old-fashion’. Where is truth, in this thinking? The lies just keep increasing, it’s no wonder why Christ asks ‘will He find truth in the land’ at His appearing..

The Jesuit oath is purely satanic.. It promotes the deconstruction of true Christianity biblical faith and foundations of society based on that, by any means – even masquerading as true Christian believers, not disclosing their Jesuit membership, infiltrating universities, colleges, SEMINARIES,, (especially evangelical), and all levels of authority / administration in society. Did you know universities like Yale, Harvard, Princeton, etc were all founded as Christian institutions of higher learning, but after Jesuit infiltration became infected with modern liberalism, and the theologies of those like Pere Teillhard de Chardin, Bultmann, Barth, etc – but in a very subtil , gradual way over time, (think of the boiling frog analody).
I was wholeheartedly subscribed to the late 60s philosophy (even read Marxist books), until 2 things happened because people prayed. Firstly, I OD’d on speed but didn’t die due to prayers – thus disillusioning me re drugs, then some time later, an encounter with a demon shook my atheist views shattering them, and I decided that if they were real Yeshua was real, YHVH also, and the Ruach ha Qodesh. I didn’t want to be a subject of the kingdom of darkness one minute longer, thus I repented and submitted my life to Messiah as my Lord of Lords, King of KIngs.

Geri, I’ve been reading your heartfelt blog for the past couple of months, and strongly agree with you. This article should be read by all Christian parents. As a person who has taught children for quite a few years, I see the progression in our schools and society toward an anti-Christ perspective. We are living close to Jesus’ return.
It appears that many people are accepting the Lord as Saviour in other parts of the world, while North America and Europe are working against God. The media are truly “Fake News” and those who control it and education are greatly deluding our children.
So sorry to hear that your children are not serving Jesus at this time. Will pray for them to return to faith in the Lord.
I’m part Jewish in my heritage, but love Jesus, and want to be led by His Spirit to make a difference in this world.
