It would probably take at least 4 or 5 articles to speak about the great wave of apostasy which has swept over the church in the past few years.  I will focus on one area of deception which is ever growing; and ever being received as truth. The danger of Ecumenism may be the greatest threat to followers of Christ than any other in the history of the Church.

The Refomation

Martin Luther was by no means a perfect man. But God did use him to expose the false teachings of the Catholic Church, and brought forth the Protestant Reformation.  He brought to light the false “works based” salvation offered by the Roman Catholics. He clearly showed that this belief was errant and in direct conflict with the Word of God.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9).

As tempted as I am to write on the bloody and corrupt history of the Vatican, I will not do so in this piece.  I wish to focus on the false theology of the Catholic Church; and more importantly, the influx of former Protestants to, as they call it, the “Mother Church.”

Pope Francis

I have written in other articles, that I do wonder if this man is the False Prophet spoken of in the Word. He is the first Jesuit pope. Even his brother Jesuits were shocked at his election as the new pope, replacing Benedict XVI when he stepped down. You see, throughout history, the Jesuits have always been the military arm of the Vatican.  They slaughtered millions upon millions of Protestants through the ages. They never dreamed that one of their own would be chosen to be pope. They had always been the protectors of the pope.

Slaughtering so many Protestants through the centuries did not crush the reformation, as I’m sure was the intent of the Vatican.  So now, the plan is not to kill the opposition, but to entice them to come back to Catholicism. Pope Francis has spent much of his time reaching out to the Protestants. His mantra:  “It’s time to come home. Our differences are over.”  ARE THEY?

Christians with discernment from the Lord see right through this. But the Kenneth Copelands and the Rick Warrens, et al, have taken the bait.  They completely lack discernment.  Are they forgetting WHY the Great Reformation happened?  Could it be that the Word of God is not a priority in the lives and ministries of these men?

YES, I do believe that is the cause of their spiritual blindness.  This is what happens when we neglect the Word of God:

 “That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive”  (Ephesians 4:14).   

And indeed, Post Francis is attempting and succeeding in deceiving many in the body of Christ- if these men were ever truly born again. When I look at pictures of Pope Francis, or watch him speak, I see the devil at work.  My heart breaks for the baby Christians and immature Christians, who week after week listen to the sermons of the wolves; and believe their every word.  Many of these leaders of mega churches are part of the Prosperity Gospel movement. It is absolutely devilish.

Getting away from the Word of God

We’ve heard recently about pastors in the church suggesting that we “Get away from the Bible.” The latest church leader who is preaching this heresy is Andy Stanley. But be sure that this is nothing new. The seeker friendly churches, which I believe opened the door to the Emergent church movement, have been getting away from God’s Word for some time. Their rationale is that the church is stale and unappealing to the people of today.

The Word of God is replaced by the words of men.

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables” ( 2 Timothy 4:3-4).

Franklin Graham

Even Franklin Graham, who has been so outspoken on moral issues, has invited Catholic priests to his events to lead the people in prayer. One of these priests wanted to bring a statue of Mary, which Franklin disallowed. I wanted to share a video showing the priests at various Graham events, but the videos I tried to watch have been scrubbed from the internet.   Interesting……..

Read the Word of God and pray for Discernment!

Brethren, in these evil times, which I believe are also the ‘end’ times, we MUST protect ourselves from Apostasy!  Satan is the author of confusion and the father of lies! Do you not understand that we are fighting against the enemy of our souls?

“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints

And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,

 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak”    (Ephesians 6:11-20)

In the coming days and months, this passage of Scripture should be read and followed like never before!  The apostates are telling us to get away from the Bible.
