NEW YORK – The 1 train is experiencing significant delays Tuesday afternoon due to reports of smoke inside a station in Upper Manhattan, according to the FDNY.
The FDNY says the smoke was coming from inside the 191st Street Station.
Service has been suspended in both directions near 145th Street.
Passengers are reportedly being treated at the scene, including 18 people with minor injuries.
The cause of the incident is still under investigation, and 16 people were transported to a nearby hospital.
Service changes include the last stop on northbound 1 trains being 145th Street, where trains will turn back for southbound service. Southbound 1 trains will also turn back at Dyckman Street, their last stop as of 3 p.m.
For travel between 145th Street and Dyckman Street, passengers can use nearby A and C trains or take M4, M100, and M101 buses as alternatives.
