A regional jet carrying 27 people ended up off a runway after landing in St. LouisWednesday morning.

A United Regional Jet went into a section of grass after landing on the airport’s Runway 11-29 at about 10:50 a.m., according to a press release from St. Louis Lambert International Airport. The jet was being operated by GoJet Airlines.

According to the release, there were 27 people on the plane at the time, including the crew. The flight was coming from Washington Dulles International Airport.

The passengers got off the plane and were loaded onto an airport bus and taken to the concourse.

At the time of the incident, snow was falling around the St. Louis area, but the airport’s press release did not say if the incident was weather-related.

Director of Talent Acquisition and Communications for GoJet Liz Dray sent the following statement regarding the incident:

Upon landing at St. Louis Lambert International Airport, GoJet Airlines flight 4427 slid off the taxiway before coming to a stop. There were no reported injuries and emergency crews met the aircraft. All passengers were safely transported to the terminal. There are no official reports at this time, but weather conditions, specifically icy taxiways, were the probable cause. All scheduled flights have been removed from this aircraft and reassigned to another.

While I was growing up, it seemed that airplane mishaps & tragedies happened mostly in groups of three. Now it just continues on & on–or are we simply hearing about more of them?
