Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced Wednesday that the Army had its best recruitment month in 15 years in January 2025 under President Donald Trump.
“BREAKING: In December 2024, the @US Army had its best recruiting number in 12 years. In January 2025, the Army hit its best recruiting number in 15 YEARS,” he said in a post on X, adding:
BOTTOM LINE: America’s youth want to serve under the bold & strong “America First” leadership of @realDonaldTrump.
According to Military.com, the Army hit a major recruiting milestone in January — reaching the halfway mark towards an ambitious goal of bringing in 61,000 active-duty soldiers in fiscal year 2025, which started in October. In fiscal year 2024, the goal was just 55,000.
The outlet reported, “The Army is set to dramatically expand how many new recruits it can send to basic training this spring, riding the momentum of recent gains toward reversing a recruiting slump it has struggled with in recent years.”
The upward trend is a reversal of abysmal recruiting shortfalls for the service in recent years.
The White House official X account posted: “Under President Trump’s America First leadership, Americans are answering the call to serve.”
Army officials have blamed the recruitment crisis on obesity, academic performance, and the COVID pandemic affecting recruiters’ ability to meet with potential recruits.
However, Hegseth has also attributed the crisis to the military losing its warrior ethos.
During his confirmation hearing last month, he listed as his top priority to restore that ethos.
“In doing so, we will reestablish trust in our military — and address the recruiting, retention and readiness crisis in our ranks. The strength of our military is our unity — our shared purpose — not our differences,” he said.
Also, all who were dismissed because of rejecting the “shot herd ’round the world ” were reinstated with back pay. That is justice and well spent taxpayer dollars. God is good. All the time.

My word! I had just said about the size of the army — and I can well imagine that the U.S. Army has suffered at least as badly as ours with all the woke goonery. Real men just don’t want to serve in the kind of environment the leaders of whatever kind were making it — and now they are jolly well showing that! Real men don’t want to be soggy cardboard cut-out jokey-wokey soldiers; but now they can try to be real soldiers again (in the U.S.A., at least — hopefully some sense and reason will break out over here soon too!) they are joining. It speaks volumes — loudly!!! 🙂

Due to the times in prophesy that we are now in, I don’t think it is wise any more to join the u.s. military no matter who is at the helm at the present. I’d leave the country before being in the military even though I served in the past. I’d happily join any state force not the. Guard so as not to be under fed control. That just my take.

My grandson just left for the Marines boot camp. He wasn’t going to join active duty if Kamala won. Elections have many consequences, I thank God for DJT and pray for his protection and salvation

I’m glad now (but not then) I served because the VA disability benefits I get keep me off the street, from being homeless + my wife will get $ from my death as long as she lives. She won’t be on ez street but sustainable as long as the govt keeps printing our fake $. In fact we were talking about this situation today because her mom is in a nur$ing type home. My VA benefits have & will make things easier for Susan in that I am & will be less of a burden whichever way things go & I thank Jesus for that.
He will give us the necessary wisdom to do the best thing according to His will & take me home when He decides the timing is perfect & so we leave earthly future totally at His discretion. That gives me the peace the world cannot give. HE WILL PROVIDE & meet our NEEDS not necessarily our wants. That’s all I ask of our MIGHTY GOD & also kick my keister when & if I stray.
