By William Oldham (Brother Bill)
I have been to the Grand Canyon in Arizona.
I have been to the little Grand Canyon in Yellowstone National Park. Absolutely beautiful and awesome.
I have been to several lesser canyons, around the country, including Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri, Colorado, and Arkansas. I have seen pictures of many others in our country.
I have also watched documentaries and seen canyons in many other countries around the world. They all share one thing in common: if you look at them objectively and from a distance, what you see are large to mammoth washed out gullies that have cut through level ground.
A lot of folks don’t believe the story of Noah and the flood, including a good number of “church folks”, but I do.
The aftermath of Hurricane Helene graphically demonstrates how massive flooding can deeply erode land and everything on it.
Here’s the account of the flood in Noah’s day.
It began to rain and rained for 40 days and 40 nights.
The flood waters covered the whole earth; the waters covered the mountains by over 22 1/2 feet.
It was 5 months before the waters started receding.
The beautiful canyons around the world are simply the effects of erosion from the flood that God caused to cover the earth, and the evidence of it.
“Now the flood was on the earth forty days. The waters increased and lifted up the ark, and it rose high above the earth. The waters prevailed and greatly increased on the earth, and the ark moved about on the surface of the waters. And the waters prevailed exceedingly on the earth, and all the high hills under the whole heaven were covered. The waters prevailed fifteen cubits (22 1/2 feet) upward, and the mountains were covered.”
“…The waters flooded the earth for a hundred and fifty days.”
Genesis 7:17-20, 24
God left the marks of His judgment inscribed over the face of the whole earth for all to see. Man deliberately chooses to ignore those marks and forget God’s judgment on wickedness. They also choose to ignore God’s coming judgment of fire on this earth. But just as sure as the waters came and destroyed this earth, the day of fire is coming.
“Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming…” 2 Peter 3:11-12
Brothers and sisters – most of you know that I am taking a break from posting articles until after the first of 2025.
But I have decided that I will post articles written by two brothers in Christ. They are William Oldham and Daymond Duck.
God bless all of you!

Praying you have a blessed Thanksgiving and Christmas season, Geri. Praying for healing and renewed strength daily. Thanks for your faithful witness.
Thank you for your prayers, sis 🙂
YES! I remember that when I was 8 years old I saw a picture of the strata of the Grand Canyon’s walls and I said, “Oh! That was the drain where all the water went from Noah’s flood.” It was so obvious to me looking at the strata that I’m always amazed when people don’t believe in the flood. Loved this, as usual. Thank you Bill and Geri!
Janine, it’s so much easier for children to believe. I think that is why our Lord spoke of this:
“and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 18:3).
God bless you Geri ❤️ and your family
And God bless you and yours!
What is seen at the Grand Canyon is the sedimentary layers deposited by the flood. The erosion carving the canyons came years later after massive dams broke. Answers in Genesis has scientific data based on God’s word for detailed information. Creation Ministries also has very reliable information. These layers are seen throughout the world which are a testament to what God had done.
Amen, brother Mark 🙂
Well, that will certainly be jolly nice — I certainly really like to read their articles, and I should think just putting those up here oughtn’t be detrimental to your resting. Just be sure you do rest 🙂
I am resting for sure. Thank you for your caring words 🙂
Right, great article, as these arches prove a great amount of water flow from a great flood; https://www.icr.org/article/arches-national-park-sculptures-from-the-flood/
Amen, brother!
