For several years I have daily posted a Bible reading on Facebook which, if followed, would take you through the entire Bible in one year. For many years I have tried to persuade my Christian family to read through the Bible every year. Now, why do that? Do you have to read the Bible to be a Christian? I’m going to try to answer with a Scripture from the Bible itself.

“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip His people to do every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17

The very first need of every Christian is to grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And God has given us the means whereby we may grow and mature in the faith, to know what is true of the God and Father of our salvation. There are no second and third generation Christians; every generation produces new Christians who begin as babies and must feed and be fed God’s word. The apostle Peter says it like this:

“Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment, now that you have had a taste of the Lord’s kindness.” 1 Peter 2:2

There are two evils in the world today regarding this subject, and that is why I am writing another column about this. The first is the willingness of believers to ignore reading the Bible and to settle for the message/messages they hear from a preacher or teacher. The second evil is that many false teachers have not only entered the church, but gained a large following. The folks who don’t read the Bible are content to happily follow the wolves in sheep’s clothing, wherever they may lead them—which is destruction.

The Bible is the inspired, infallible, inerrant word of God. It is the only book God has written, and it has been written for your learning. God intended for it to be written in your language so that you could easily understand it with the mind God has given you. As a Christian, The Father and Jesus have Given you the Holy Spirit so that on your own, you may learn all that God wants you to know about the Triune Godhead: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.

This all comes to the child of God by the faith that God gives us. Absolutely everything about our salvation is a gift from God. During the early years of my life, the Scriptures were read in Latin which had no meaning whatsoever to me. When I was born again, I purchased a Bible and began reading it. I couldn’t believe the treasures of truth that I found. That was almost 57 years ago, and I haven’t stopped reading it since. I read through the Bible every year, and have read it in many different versions.

But I don’t say this as a brag, or look what I have done. I say this because the most important thing in your life, the only thing that matters, is to know the God of your salvation and His purpose for your life, and His word clearly reveals that to you.

We were dead in trespasses and sin—spiritual dead! There was nothing in us that merited God’s favor; but God, in His great mercy and love came to us and raised us up to life while we were sinners, and placed us in His Son, and adopted us as His children. He rescued us from the domain of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of His dear Son, gave us to be heirs with Jesus, and sealed us with His Holy Spirit. Praise God!

My dear brothers and sisters, come away from all that dead stuff you’re being fed on, and come to the table of the living God; it is filled with rich food.

Republican Congressman Mike Collins of Georgia has responded to the attempt on former President Donald Trump’s life with a comment many may be thinking in the stunned aftermath of the horrific act.

Collins blamed President Joe Biden and by way, his total entourage — the Biden administration, the Democrats, the liberal left media, and the rest of the vile conglomerate — for the incident. Well beyond the shooter himself, it is the toxicity they’ve relentlessly perpetuated that, in Collins’ opinion as well as many others, caused Trump to be harmed.

This includes the remarks the president made on July 8. Biden said, “I have one job, and that’s to beat Donald Trump. I’m absolutely certain I’m the best person to be able to do that. So, we are done talking about the debate, it’s time to put Trump in a bullseye.”

Biden could have chosen any other word than “bullseye.” He didn’t. He chose that specific one.

You’d have to be a moron and politically naive to believe that was by accident. Not only was the statement divisive, but the single word gave a green light to any person with a screw loose to latch onto and wreak havoc.

Collins posted Biden’s remark on social media platform X after Saturday’s shooting and commented, “Joe Biden sent the orders.”

Literally, Biden didn’t call for Trump’s assassination, but figuratively? It is hard to argue that Biden and the left didn’t push the shooter 99 percent of the way up the ladder and onto the roof, whether or not the shooter thought up the idea of assassinating Trump alone or was part of a larger plan.

The Washington Post reported that no fewer than eight Republican lawmakers have blamed Biden and at least 21 blamed “Trump critics” for Saturday’s bloody attack.

Republican Congressman J.D. Vance of Ohio, who also happens to be a front-runner for Trump’s vice presidential pick, seconded Collins’ conclusion, posting on social media platform X, “Today is not just some isolated incident. The central premise of the Biden campaign is that President Donald Trump is an authoritarian fascist who must be stopped at all costs. That rhetoric led directly to President Trump’s attempted assassination.”

“Democrats and liberals in the media have called Trump a fascist,” Sen. Rick Scott of Florida chimed in on X.

“They’ve compared him to Hitler. They’ve tried to lock him up. They tried to remove his Secret Service protection. Just this week, @JoeBiden said he wanted to put Trump in the crosshairs.

“This isn’t some unfortunate incident. This was an assassination attempt by a madman inspired by the rhetoric of the radical left.”

 

Much of the political violence that has escalated to the climatic moment that nearly cost Trump his life should be owned by the left — including the legacy media outlets, which have been gleefully one-upping each other to paint an exaggerated portrait of the 45th president as a tyrant who intends to become a dictator and destroy democracy.

It cannot be forgotten, though, that the shooter ultimately made the final decision to act himself.

I think more important than finger-pointing, although quite instinctive, is to refrain from allowing ourselves and our Republican leaders to cast themselves in the same damning light Biden and the left covet.

Politics have now been placed before life. The resulting blame game could very well lead to additional traumatic events, including a civil war.

Leaders on the right should purposely attempt to lower the temperatureof our nation — to bring calm and unify. Otherwise, they will simply be playing into Biden’s and the Democrats’ hands — helping to muddy history in the process.

We don’t need any more poor examples running or ruining this nation. Our government already looks like a joke on the world stage.

The loudest statement and best revenge is to put Trump back into the White House. That is where conservative voice and Republican leadership need to concentrate their efforts now. source

Father I pray that you will show the world everything that happened at the Trump Rally. Please bring everything to light. I pray this in the name of Jesus.

The Secret Service is facing intense backlash following Saturday’s attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump at a Pennsylvania rally.

Videos of the event show several female secret service agents, small in stature compared to their male counterparts, surrounding the president just after the shooting, which resulted in Trump taking a bullet to the ear, two attendees suffering critical injuries and one dying, along with the shooter, per the Associated Press.

One shocking photograph taken at the time of the shooting shows one of the female agents cowering behind Trump as other agents circle around to protect him.

Another video taken just after the shooting shows a female agent — who does not appear to be in peak physical condition — fumbling to holster her weapon as Trump is escorted into a vehicle.

Soon after the shooting occurred, many online began questioning the priorities of Secret Service Director Kimberly A. Cheatle.

Before her appointment to the Secret Service, Cheatle was the Senior Director in Global Security at PepsiCo, and before that, she served in the Office of Protective Operations in the Secret Service.

According to Cheatle’s official profile, her chief achievement as the 27th Director of the U.S. Secret Service has been “executing the agency’s integrated mission of protection and investigations by leading a diverse workforce …”

Another CBS News interview that has since gone viral revealed one of Cheatle’s primary goals as acting director — to have 30 percent female Secret Service recruits by 2030.

Other reports from Friday’s shooting indicate that multiple attendees adamantly warned law enforcement and security officials about the shooter prior to the shooting taking place, to no avail.

“I’m standing there pointing at him for two to three minutes. Secret Service is looking at us,” one witness told a BBC reporter.

“Next thing you know, five shots rang out.”

According to NBC News, Republican House Oversight Chair James Comer asked Cheatle to testify at a July 22 hearing.

Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson is demanding a “full investigation” into possible “lapses in security,” as well. source

Police encountered the man who attempted to assassinate former President Donald Trump face-to-face moments prior to the Saturday shooting, according to a new report.

The shooting, which occurred at a Saturday rally in Pennsylvania, claimed the lives of two people — an attendee of the rally, former fire chief Corey Comperator, and the shooter, identified by the FBI as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks. Trump’s ear was shot, bloodying his face, but he sustained no other injuries.

According to a Sunday report from the Associated Press, a police officer climbed onto the roof of the small metal-sheet building Crooks later shot Trump from.

In multiple first-hand reports from the rally, witnesses claimed they warned authorities and security personnel about the shooter and pointed out his location as he readied to shoot the president.  (emphasis added)

The new report confirmed this was the case, prompting a lone local police officer to climb on top of the roof to confront Crooks.

Crooks then pointed his rifle at the officer, who responded by retreating down the ladder he had climbed up.  

       *****This sounds made up.

Shortly thereafter, Crooks “quickly took a shot toward Trump” before Secret Service snipers returned fire, ending his life.

       *****And this cannot be true! This states that Crooks only took one shot at President Trump, but witnesses clearly heard several shots being fired. 

In addition, sources told the Associated Press that bomb-making materials were also found in Crook’s vehicle.

The FBI claims that the shooting is being investigated as “an attempted assassination and an act of domestic terrorism.”

Since the shooting, former President Trump has put out two official statements via his Truth Social account.

In the first, posted Saturday night, Trump thanked Secret Service officials and offered his condolences to Comperator’s family.

In the second statement published Sunday, Trump again offered condolences and offered his thoughts on the state of the country.

“Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers yesterday, as it was God alone who prevented the unthinkable from happening. We will FEAR NOT, but instead remain resilient in our Faith and Defiant in the face of Wickedness,” Trump wrote.

“Our love goes out to the other victims and their families. We pray for the recovery of those who were wounded, and hold in our hearts the memory of the citizen who was so horribly killed.”

“In this moment, it is more important than ever that we stand United, and show our True Character as Americans, remaining Strong and Determined, and not allowing Evil to Win. I truly love our Country, and love you all, and look forward to speaking to our Great Nation this week from Wisconsin.” source
