Gavin Newsom Accuses Target CEO of ‘Selling Out LGBTQ+ Community’ by Removing Pride Items from Satanist Designer

Far-Left California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) accused the CEO of Target of “selling out the LGBTQ+ community” for removing certain “pride” themed items associated with the satanist designer Abprallen after receiving backlash.

“CEO of Target Brian Cornell selling out the LGBTQ+ community to extremists is a real profile in courage. This isn’t just a couple stores in the South. There is a systematic attack on the gay community happening across the country,” Newsom claimed in a Tuesday social media post. 

“Wake up America. This doesn’t stop here. You’re black? You’re Asian? You’re Jewish? You’re a woman? You’re next,” he added. 

As Breitbart News reported, Target’s pride collection has been the subject of criticism following its rollout, “as it offers an array of items for children and babies as well as transgender swimsuits for adults with “tuck-friendly” and “light-binding” effects.”

But in the midst of the pride-themed onesies, socks, shoes, and swimsuits were at least two items by the U.K.-based designer Abprallen. The individual behind the brand identifies as a transgender gay man — a biological woman attracted to males — and satanist, even paying homage to the satanic figure Baphomet and asserting that “Satan respects pronouns.” While that design was not offered at Target stores, the woke company offered two designs from the designer — a top reading “Cure Transphobia Not Trans People” and a tote bag reading “Too Queer for Here.”

Now, when searching for the brand on the Target website, it states, “We couldn’t find a match for your search.”

“Since introducing this year’s collection, we’ve experienced threats impacting our team members’ sense of safety and wellbeing while at work,” Target said in a statement, according to Reuters.

“Given these volatile circumstances, we are making adjustments to our plans, including removing items that have been at the center of the most significant confrontational behavior,” it continued.
Other items from the retail chain’s pride collection are also under review, including some children’s merchandise, “tuck-friendly” swimsuits marketed to men who identify as women, and “light-binding” tops to women who identify as men.

“This move comes on the heels of an ’emergency’ call taking place, resulting in certain Target stores moving the pride sections — typically displayed prominently at the front of the stores — to smaller sections in the back,” Breitbart News reported. 

Under Newsom’s leadership, California notably became the first “sanctuary state” this year for so-called “transgender children” seeking drugs and surgeries to alter their physical manifestations of secondary sex characteristics, which are restricted in some states.

California’s Department of Education also does not allow teachers to tell parents about a change in a student’s “gender identity” unless the student gives permission. Students who identify as transgender are allowed to participate in school activities, including sports, and use the bathrooms and locker rooms for the sex they believe they are.

Newsom also has a history of targeting churches and houses of worship. Last year, he infamously misused the words of Jesus Christ to justify aborting unborn babies. Source

  • Ron DeSantis is expected to announce his 2024 campaign on Twitter Spaces.
  • It’s the first time a candidate plans to launch a presidential campaign during a live stream on the social media app.
  • But the forum was off to a rough start with crashes, silence, and robot music.

Gov. Ron DeSantis’ planned launch for his 2024 presidential bid on Twitter was delayed by almost 30 minutes on Wednesday after the site crashed.

The Florida governor was expected to officially launch his campaign at 6 p.m. EST during an audio-only live forum known as Twitter Spaces, alongside Twitter CEO Elon Musk and entrepreneur David Sacks. Making that choice was unusual — many candidates do public events or interviews with cable news outlets. 

But the social media app appeared to be having technical difficulties handling nearly 500,000 listeners as the discussion kicked off. 

The forum either crashed or would allow listeners to join in without any audio.

Sacks at one point started speaking into the microphone, calling the event “historic” and “a first in the history of social media” before the sound dropped. 

At one point a voice could be heard saying, “Now it’s quiet.” 

“We’ve got so many people here that I think we are kind of melting the servers,” Sacks said, when more than 100,000 people had joined. Other streaming services, such as Clubhouse, have had more listeners without crashing. 

“Very excited to have Gov. DeSantis,” Musk said before the live feed glitched again and the Spaces ended. 

Around 6:30 p.m., the audio turned back on and DeSantis was able to announce that he was running for president and answer questions on issues from his feud with Walt Disney World to reforms on federal agencies. 

Sacks apologized to DeSantis for the technical difficulties, and asked him why he chose to make the announcement over Twitter instead of on cable television. 

The governor said that he wanted to “cut against the grain” instead of “going with the crowd,” then turned the conversation to how he bucked federal health officials during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The conversation quickly turned to deriding traditional news outlets, with Musk calling journalists an “elite cabal.” 

“Candidates for president can just speak directly to people through Twitter,” Sacks said. 

Some political operators were surprised that DeSantis chose not to hold his first interview with Fox News, who otherwise got numerous other details about the campaign first, including the campaign video launch and the fact that the Twitter Spaces conversation was taking place. 

Ever since his time serving in the US House, starting in 2013, DeSantis has had a collaborative relationship with the network. That continued into his governorship. 

Twitter is set to stream a new show from Tucker Carlson, a political commentator abruptly ousted from Fox News.

“Glitchy. Tech issues. Uncomfortable silences. A complete failure to launch,” a Trump spokesperson told Insider. “And that’s just the candidate!”

Tom Cotton (R-AR) was among those who criticized Target’s decision to push this agenda.

However, after ongoing backlash, it appears Target is no longer selling those items. A quick search for Abprallen on the Target website used to pull up the two items mentioned above. Now it states, “We couldn’t find a match for your search.”

“Since introducing this year’s collection, we’ve experienced threats impacting our team members’ sense of safety and wellbeing while at work,” Target said in a statement, according to Reuters.

Items by the satanic designer are being removed as other items remain under review after continued criticism and threats of boycotts. As Breitbart News previously reported, the designer behind Abprallen identified the Baphomet design as one of her most “favourite and most popular designs, and the one that gave Abprallen its proper footing and direction.”

“Coming up with this phrase really helped make Abprallen what it is today,” the designer’s Instagram post reads, adding, “We’ll hang with Satan instead.”

The designer, who goes by “Erik,” added that satanists “don’t actually believe in Satan, he is merely used as a symbol of passion, pride, and liberty.”

“He means to you what you need him to mean. So for me, Satan is hope, compassion, equality, and love. So, naturally, Satan respects pronouns. He loves all LGBT+ people. I went with a variation of Baphomet for this design, a deity who themself is a mixture of genders, beings, ideas, and existences. They reject binary stereotypes and expectations. Perfect,” the designer added.

Meanwhile, other items that remain under review include swimsuits clearly marketed toward transgender adults, offering “tuck-friendly” bottoms for confused men to “tuck” away their genitals to appear more feminine, as well as tops with a “light-binding” effect to flatten the breasts of gender-confused women.

According to Reuters, “Target is also reviewing certain transgender swimsuits and children’s merchandise, Castaneda said, but no decision on those products has yet been made.”

This move comes on the heels of an “emergency” call taking place, resulting in certain Target stores moving the pride sections — typically displayed prominently at the front of the stores — to smaller sections in the back.

“We were given 36 hours, told to take all of our Pride stuff, the entire section, and move it into a section that’s a third the size,” a Target insider told Fox News. “From the front of the store to the back of the store, you can’t have anything on mannequins and no large signage.” Source
