Op-Ed: One Look at the Record Reveals the True Epicenter of Anti-Semitism

After the tragic killing of 11 elderly Jews at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh in 2018, the American Jewish left, along with allies in the Democratic Party and the media, were unrelenting in their efforts to pin it on President Donald Trump, accusing him of creating an atmosphere of “hatred” that led to violence — and the recent unplanned and unfortunate visit of anti-Semites Kanye West and Nick Fuentes with Trump at Mar-a-Lago threw kindling on the fire.

But even a cursory exam of the record will demonstrate that Trump is the most pro-Israel, pro-Jewish president we have ever had.

Given the rhetoric, however, it would be useful to compare the records of Trump, Presidents Barack Hussein Obama and Joe Biden, the Democratic Party, and the Jewish left regarding their treatment of the Jewish people and the state of Israel and to determine the true epicenter of anti-Semitism in America and around the world today.

To begin, Trump’s daughter Ivanka converted to Orthodox Judaism. His Jewish son-in-law, Jared Kushner, is a trusted envoy and adviser. Trump has Jewish grandchildren whom he adores. Jews have been influential consultants and advisers throughout his long career in business and in his administration. While the broad American Jewish community did not support Trump in 2016, he was very popular among observant Orthodox Jews, and nearly 75 percent of Israelis approve of Trump.

Acting on his promise, Trump moved the U.S. Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, recognizing it as the eternal capital of the Jewish people. Obama refused.

Trump ended the Iran nuclear deal forged by Obama. This deal paved the way for a nuclear-armed Iran within 10 years, a nation pledged to the annihilation of Israel. Iran is the leading state sponsor of terror and funds terrorist proxies Hamas and Hezbollah, which, like their Iranian patrons, espouse genocidal ambitions toward Israel. But the Jewish left, the Democratic Party and the media defended the Iran nuclear deal even as it represented an existential threat to the Jewish state.

The Palestinian Liberation Organization is a terrorist entity stained with Jewish and American blood. It pays stipends to families of terrorists responsible for killing Jews and is the most successful Jew-killing operation since World War II. Trump closed its diplomatic mission in Washington, D.C. Obama upgraded it. Obama also increased U.S. funding to the PLO while Trump cut it. Biden has reinstated it.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency is an anti-Semitic body that supports Hamas and indoctrinates young Palestinians to hate Jews. Trump stopped funding the organization while Obama expanded it. Trump pulled the U.S. out of the anti-Semitic UN Human Rights Council. Obama joined it, as did Biden.

Obama spent 20 years in the Trinity Church of Jeremiah Wright, an anti-Semite and bigot. Wright and Obama were associates of black nationalist, racist and anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan, the leader of the Nation of Islam, who recently referred to Jews as “termites.” Farrakhan has spoken of his admiration of Hitler for killing millions of Jews (as has Hamas).

The first two Muslim women elected to Congress, Ilhan Omar, a Somali from Minnesota, and Rashid Tlaib, a Palestinian from Michigan, are both Democrats and support the anti-Semitic “boycott, divest and sanction” movement, which promotes economic and legal warfare against Israel.

The deputy chairman of the Democratic National Committee, Keith Ellison, former congressman for Minnesota’s 5th District and Minnesota attorney general, was a member of the anti-Semitic Nation of Islam and defender of Farrakhan and has himself attacked Israel and the Jews.

Al Sharpton, a black supremacist and anti-Semite, has referred to Jews as “blood-sucking Jews,” “Jew bastards” and “white interlopers.” His demagoguery incited violence, riots and the murder of a 29-year-old Yeshiva student and two others in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn in 1991, referred to as the “Crown Heights pogrom.” He hosts a news show on MSNBC, spoke at the Democratic National Convention, and was a frequent guest at Obama’s White House.

Franklin Foer, Julia Ioffe, Dana Milbank, Roger Cohen, Peter Beinart and others represent a coterie of powerful left-wing Jewish commentators and columnists who attack Israel routinely and condemn Trump for his defense of Israel. Some support Hamas and the BDS movement.

George Soros is a wealthy Jewish financier originally from Hungary who dedicates himself to undermining Israel by funding anti-Semitic left-wing Jewish groups engaged in anti-Israel projects, including on college campuses. He is the leading contributor to the Democratic Party.

Leftism has infected non-orthodox synagogues. In the last year, the leaders of the reform and conservative movements have delivered their flagship institutions into the hands of Jewish anti-Semites. The reform movement invited novelist Michael Chabon, an outspoken hater of Israel, to be the keynote speaker at the Hebrew Union College annual convention. Conservative movement leadership invited the radical Jewish anti-Zionist group “If Not Now” to train counselors at one of their largest summer camps.

We would be remiss to ignore one of history’s greatest Jewish anti-Semites, cherished by the left even today despite the misery and death his philosophy has spawned. In his anti-Semitic treatise “On the Jewish Question,” Karl Marx wrote in 1844 that “money is the jealous God of Israel” and that “the emancipation of Jews is the emancipation of mankind from Judaism.”

In the wake of the Tree of Life massacre, Trump said, “The scourge of anti-Semitism cannot be ignored, cannot be tolerated and cannot be allowed to continue.” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that no non-Israeli leader has ever made such a strong commitment to combating Jew hatred.

So are leftist Jews, the media, the Democratic Party and other haters of Trump serving American Jews by condemning the most supportive U.S. president the state of Israel and the Jewish people have ever had? Of course not.

Their hateful rhetoric and policies are divisive and expose Jews to increasing levels of anti-Semitism. They reveal themselves as partisans who will stop at nothing to advance their political interests despite the damage they inflict on the nation, American Jews and Israel. Their record demonstrates that the core of anti-Semitism in America and around the world is on the left and in particular among high-profile left-wing Jews in many of our non-orthodox synagogues, college campuses, Hollywood and the Democratic Party.

While anti-Semites exist on the right, Republicans and conservatives reject them unequivocally. That is not the case for the leftist establishment, which embraces its anti-Semites — to its lasting shame. Source

Year after year, as I watched my people vote for the Leftist Dems, I would wonder why they did not come to realize that they were indeed casting votes for their enemies. I know that may sound a bit harsh or even paranoid, but trust me when I tell you that it’s truth.

When one is born into a Jewish family, it is expected that he/she will be a card carrying Democrat and Liberal. After I was born again in 1983, it did not take me long to realize that I could not reconcile the beliefs of the Left with the Word of God.

When I saw how Bibi was mistreated by Obama years ago, it saddened me. But it confirmed to me that these on the Left were certainly NOT our friends.

A massive storm bringing life-threatening floods, power outages, and fierce winds is set to batter California in the coming days.

According to meteorologists with AccuWeather, the storm is set to arrive between Wednesday and Thursday, days after the state witnessed deadly flooding and heavy snowfall.

The storm is expected to intensify quickly and evolve into a bomb cyclone fueled by an atmospheric river originating in the Pacific Ocean, around 2,500 miles away.

The atmospheric river has been called a “Pineapple Express,” since it would ferry large amounts of moisture from Hawaii to California, according to reporting from the New York Post.

The resulting snowfall and rainfall could disrupt travel and cause power outages.

“There is a significant risk for flash flooding, and people should watch for and avoid rapidly rising water which can quickly become life-threatening,” AccuWeather Chief Meteorologist Jon Porter said.

“This will be a dangerous and high-impact storm for California, capable of producing life-threatening conditions and significant disruption which may last several days.”

“Not only will this storm be intense tapping into a substantial atmospheric river, but it is also arriving just days after the previous storm brought heavy rainfall and created significant flooding, increasing the impacts and risks that can occur,” Porter said.

“Widespread flooding and wind impacts expected from Wednesday into Thursday as a strong weather system and atmospheric river moves through the region,” the National Weather Service said in a Tuesday statement.

“Subsequent weather systems will bring additional precipitation and periods of stronger winds this weekend and into at least early next week,” the NWS said.

Tuesday is expected to be a “calm day” before the impending storm and the last day to prepare for “impending impacts,” according to the NWS statement.

“To put it simply, this will likely be one of the most impactful systems on a widespread scale that this meteorologist has seen in a long while,” a warning from the National Weather Service’s Bay Area office said, according to Fortune.

“The impacts will include widespread flooding, roads washing out, hillside collapsing, trees down (potentially full groves), widespread power outages, immediate disruption to commerce, and the worst of all, likely loss of human life. This is truly a brutal system that we are looking at and needs to be taken seriously,” the warning stated.

The NWS advised citizens to sign up for their county emergency alerts and reverse 911 calls, and to pay attention to warnings of flooding and landslides.

Citizens are advised to have a “go bag” ready with essential items in cases where immediate evacuations would be necessary.

The kit should include essentials such as water, food, cell phones with chargers and backup batteries, flashlights, and a first aid kit.

California residents are also advised to keep their insurance policies and key documents with them and to prepare for power outages and road closures that could last for multiple days.

“Impacts can be ongoing even after the heaviest rain is over. Mudslides can sometimes occur several days or even weeks after heavy rain events. Flooded waterways may take days to recede,” the NWS warned. Source

‘Humanity Is Not Sustainable’: 60 Minutes Cites DISCREDITED Population Bomb Author as Environmental Authority

Paul Ehrlich, who predicted that mass starvation would wipe out humanity decades ago, was invited to appear on an episode of 60 Minutes that aired Sunday night to revive his argument that current levels of human consumption will lead to the mass extinction of plants, animals, and mankind itself — echoing the case he first made in his since discredited 1968 book The Population Bomb.

Ehrlich is a Stanford University biology professor best known for predicting that a global famine driven by overpopulation would all but wipe out human civilization in the 1970’s. “The battle to feed all of humanity is over. In the 1970’s the world will undergo famines – hundreds of millions of people are going to starve to death…nothing can prevent a substantial increase in the world death rate,” Ehrlich and his co-author and wife warned readers in the book’s introduction.

Despite the infamous blunder, which resulted from Ehrlich’s failure to account for the revolution in agricultural technology that occurred in the decades after he published his wildly popular book, he maintains that his arguments were broadly correct.

“I do not think my language was too apocalyptic in The Population Bomb.My language would be even more apocalyptic today,” Ehrlich told Retro Report in 2015.

In the segment that aired Sunday night, interviewer Scott Pelley asked Ehrlich to weigh in on the topic of the “Sixth Extinction,” or the prediction made by some scientists that 75 percent of all living species will go extinct in the coming decades for the sixth time in recorded history.
“The alarm Ehrlich sounded in ’68 warned that overpopulation would trigger widespread famine. He was wrong about that. The green revolution fed the world. But he also wrote in ’68 that heat from greenhouse gases would melt polar ice and humanity would overwhelm the wild,” Pelley told viewers Sunday night.

Asked by Pelley whether the current global demands on resources and energy is tolerable, Ehrlich was unequivocal: “Oh, humanity is not sustainable. To maintain our lifestyle (yours and mine, basically) for the entire planet, you’d need five more Earths. Not clear where they’re gonna come from.”

The interview overlooked a famous wager Ehrlich lost to American economist Julian Simon, who predicted the average price of various natural resources would go down with technological advancements, while Ehrlich envisioned skyrocketing prices driven by mass depopulation and scarcity. In 1980, Ehrlich selected five metals that he believed would be considerably more valuable a decade later.

Ehrlich resoundingly lost the bet.

During the decades since The Population Bomb was first released, infant mortality declined, life expectancy increased, and famines dramatically reduced, defying Ehrlich’s grim predictions.

“This is an incredible gain. Human history has never shown any achievement to hold a candle to that. You’d expect lovers of human life to be jumping with joy at this incredible success. Instead, across the street we’ve got them lamenting that there are so many people alive,” Simon said at the time of the bet. SOURCE

 “And the Lord said to me, “The prophets prophesy lies in My name. I have not sent them, commanded them, nor spoken to them; they prophesy to you a false vision, divination, a worthless thing, and the deceit of their heart” (Jeremiah 14:14).

See again what Ehrlich predicted in the 1960’s:

A new Covid strain nicknamed ‘the Kraken’ is sparking concern around the world.

XBB.1.5, a subvariant of Omicron, is already dominant in parts of the US. Now it has started to sweep across the UK.

But where else has the strain been spotted? Do vaccines still work against it? And could it cause more serious disease? 

Here, MailOnline breaks down everything you need to know about the new variant..

What is XBB.1.5?

XBB.1.5 is a mutated version of Omicron XBB, a strain that was first detected in India in August. 

Its parent strain XBB — a merger of BA.2.10.1 and BA.2.75 — caused cases to quadruple in just one month in some nations. 

XBB.1.5 has gained additional mutations, such as F486P, which help it bypass Covid-fighting antibodies generated in response to vaccination or previous infection.

Another change — S486P — is thought to improve its ability to bind to cells.

Where has it been spotted?

Concern about XBB.1.5 is largely based on how it is currently surging in the US.

But it has also already been spotted in Britain and other countries around the globe.

Statistics from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) showed the strain is behind 41 per cent of cases. The figure is up from 22 per cent one week earlier.

Figures from the Sanger Institute, one of the UK’s largest Covid surveillance centres, shows four per cent of cases in the week to December 17 were caused by XBB.1.5.

It is the first time the strain has been listed on the institute’s virus dashboard, which is updated weekly.

XBB.1.5 has also been spotted in countries including France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Ireland, Australia, Singapore and India.

Is the variant concerning?

Experts are concerned XBB.1.5’s rapid rise in the US could be caused by mutations that help it to better infect people and dodge protection from vaccination and prior infections.

Professor Lawrence Young, a virologist at Warwick University, told MailOnline that the emergence of the strain is a ‘wakeup call’ and could exacerbate the NHS crisis in Britain.

He said: ‘The XBB.1.5 variant is highly infectious and is driving increased hospital admissions in New York, particularly among the elderly. 

‘Waning immunity, more indoor mixing because of the cold weather and lack of other mitigations, such as wearing facemasks, are also contributing to this surge of infection in the US.’

Professor Paul Hunter, an epidemiologist based at the University of East Anglia, told MailOnline that the majority of new variants ‘fizzle out in a few weeks’.

However, the sharp increase in XBB.1.5’s prevalence is ‘certainly very worrying’ and suggests ‘a pretty dramatic growth advantage and enough to drive a new wave of infections’, he said.

Does it cause more severe illness?

Virus hospitalisations jumped 40 per cent in the month to December 28 in the US, from 1.2 to 1.7 admissions per 100,000 people.

The rise is even more stark in the over-70s, with 52 per cent more seeking hospital care on that day, compared to one month earlier.

But experts said there is no indication XBB.1.5 is behind the uptick in severe cases.

Dr Barbara Mahon, director of the CDC’s Coronavirus and Other Respiratory Viruses Division, told CBS News: ‘We’re projecting that it’s going to be the dominant variant in the North East region of the country and that it’s going to increase in all regions of the country.

‘There’s no suggestion at this point that XBB.1.5 is more severe.’

She told NBC News: ‘We’re seeing hospitalizations have been notching up overall across the country.

‘They don’t appear to be notching up more in the areas that have more XBB.1.5.’ 

Do the vaccines still work?

The F486P vaccines could make it more resistant to antibodies brought on by the Covid vaccine. 

Some lab tests have indicated it can better evade jab-induced immunity, although the jury is still out in the real world. 

Professor Young said: ‘We don’t know how this variant is going to behave in the UK, in a population that has been previously exposed to other Omicron variants and where many of the over 50s have had booster shots with a bivalent vaccine.  

‘Nevertheless, this is a wakeup call — a sharp reminder that we can’t be complacent about Covid. 

‘The threat of XBB.1.5 and other Covid variants further exacerbating the current NHS crisis stresses the need for us to remain vigilant. 

‘We need to continue to monitor levels of infection with different variants in the UK, encourage those who are eligible to get their boosters shots — why not extend this to the under 50s? — and promote the value of other mitigation measures.’

Even if the vaccines do not work perfectly against the variant, immunity is likely to still hold up, with most Brits also having been exposed to former Omicron variants.

High levels of protection against the virus gave ministers the confidence to ditch all Covid measures last year as the country moved to living with the virus.

Why are some scientists not worried?

Not all experts are so concerned, however. 

Dr Simon Clarke, a microbiologist based at the University of Reading, told MailOnline that XBB.1.5’s ability to evade immunity has only been observed in the lab. 

‘So it’s difficult to know how this will translate into real life,’ he noted.

While hospitalisations in the US are rising in many regions, ‘the presence of this variant doesn’t seem to be responsible for that’, Dr Clarke said.

Also, it doesn’t seem to be causing more serious disease than other circulating variants, which are the most important metrics to watch when tracking Covid, he said.

Dr Clarke added: ‘It will be interesting to see how the situation develops over the coming months as the usual annual wave of flu hospitalisations is usually highest in January and February.’

Professor Francois Balloux, an infectious disease expert based at University College London, told MailOnline that XBB.1.5 cases ‘will likely go up in frequency globally’ in the near future. 

He added: ‘As such, it would contribute to push case numbers higher over the coming weeks. That said, it is far from clear XBB.1.5 will cause a massive wave on its own.’ Source
