JESUS – We Long For Your Appearing!

I am trying so hard to be patient, but each day I weep because another day has passed and our Lord has not come for us.  Some chasten me, and rightly so. They say “Where is your faith?  Our work is not done here.”  Then I go to my Lord and ask His forgiveness for being impatient.

I wonder how many other born again believers in Jesus are feeling this way.  The evil in this world is so thick and increasing at such a rapid pace.  I go to His Word and I see that He told us that this would happen.

He spoke of scoffers:

“Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation” (2 Peter 3:3-4)

He spoke of a great falling away:

“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron” (1 Timothy 4:1-2)

“For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.  And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works” (2 Corinthians 11:13-15)

He spoke of love growing cold

“And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold” (Matthew 24:12).

He spoke of many being blinded by satan:

“In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them” (2 Corinthians 4:4)

He told us about one who will come to deceive the world:

“Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God” (2 Thessalonians 2:4)

He told us that He would come as a thief in the night:

“But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober” ( 1 Thessalonians 5: 1-5)

He said that He will never leave us

“Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee” (Deuteronomy 31:6).

Please help us Lord to trust You

We must trust You completely. We are clay in Your hands; who are we to speak to the Potter about His affairs?  Please Lord, keep us in Your Word. There is safety there, and there is absolute truth in every Word spoken to us in the Bible.

“But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father” (Mark 13:32).

Please help us with the Great Commission

“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost”  (Matthew 28:18-19)

We know that one soul which was lost but has been found causes great singing and rejoicing in heaven. Let us never forget this. Let us share His glorious Gospel with boldness.

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek” (Romans 1:16).

WE ARE BLESSED

For this we must be so thankful to our Lord and Savior. Those who are lost, and may remain in this state until they die, will be lost forever and separated from God in a fiery hell.  Let us warn others about this – even if they scoff at us, who knows if God will bring another one of His children along to share with this same person. And let us not forget Who is the Lord of the Harvest.

No matter how bleak things may appear; no matter how our children have left the fold and rejected Him, we must pray – always.

“See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.  Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.  Quench not the Spirit”  (1 Thessalonians 15-19)

Brethren, let us pray for one another. Each of us have burdens. Think upon the Words that our Father has given to us. Think upon that glorious day when we see our Lord as He sees us.  What a celebration that will be!
