I talked to Dale today. He is getting closer to coming home.
He told me that he had a boil on his arm and was complaining about the pain to the doctors. It took 3 weeks for them to finally do a biopsy – it is cancer.
The doctors operated yesterday and they think that they got all of it.
Please pray that they did get all of the cancer.
Please also pray about the pain.
Our brother has really been through it but he sounds upbeat and of course he is always talking about the goodness of God!
It’s been a while since I posted an update on our brother in Christ, Dale Vernon.
I spoke with him this evening. He was transferred to another VA hospital. He asked me if I would request that we pray that the Lord would make him strong enough to go home and convalesce there.
He will need a new bed – preferably a hospital bed brought into his home. The VA is not being helpful – Dale said that he thinks that they feel that they have paid too much already. He has been in VA hospitals for over 4 months.
He would also need a nurse to come to his home – perhaps a couple of times a day for his vitals, etc.
Dale has not seen his brother for 15 years. Dale’s wife, Susan, got in touch with him and now his brother wants to come and visit Dale. His brother is not a believer, so please pray for this visit to be productive in the Lord.
Pray God’s will be done. That’s how I end all of my prayers!
I spoke with Dale yesterday. He said that he is still losing weight. The doctors are planning to remove his catheter and send him back to the VA hospital for observation.
The infection in his body has still not gone away, despite 3 very strong antibiotics given to him intravenously for months.
Please continue to pray for Dale. Pray that God has His angels around him and that he will begin to improve.
The daughter of Dale’s friend who was hit by a van is still in the hospital with many broken bones and a crushed pelvis. On a bright note, she is talking about the Lord to her father and about the way she has lived her life on the streets for the last 13 years. She has had 3 children and walked away from all three because of her need for street drugs.
Her head is infested with lice and fleas and many other bugs which a person living on the street is prone to get. Pray that the hospital will address this and rid her of these parasites.
MOSTLY PRAY For her Salvation!!

I talked with Dale tonight. His voice was strong and he’s talking about the steak that he will have when he returns home! It made me smile because I really believe that our brother is on the mend.
I want to ask the readers for prayer for the daughter of one of Dale’s friends. His friend is a very strong Christian and one of his daughters has been on the street – using drugs for the past 13 years. She loved Jesus and understood and embraced Salvation as a child, but the drugs took her away from her family and she’s been living on the street.
A couple of weeks ago, she was walking on a crosswalk when a van struck her. It crushed her pelvis, broke both of her legs and many other bones are broken. She is still in the hospital. Dale’s friend says that he believes that the Lord allowed this to happen to finally get her attention.
PLEASE pray for this woman – that she will realize that Jesus has always been with her, and that He wants her to come home to Him.
