Very informative and useful food for thought. The “gradually then suddenly” themes pointed out were complementary to many historical events with prior warnings from God.
I was thinking of Adam & Ev’s expulsion from the Garden which was immediate after being initially warned at the time of their creation. The flood in Noah’s time. God shut the door on the ark after waiting 120 years for man to repent & suddenly every creature & human left outside died.
Another was the sudden destruction of Sodom, Gomorrah & Lot’s wife.
Many others come to mind as well with a merciful & patient God’s many warnings. Most important to us is probably the Rapture timing. Are we as the bride of Christ prepared to meet our Groom in the air when He comes for us suddenly as a “thief in the night” with only a shout the real Bride can recognize?
Everyone will know when the 2nd Coming happens because scripture says every eye will see Him, every knee will bow & acknowledge the now Warrior Jesus as King of Kings & Lord of Lords as He appears in power & glory & wipes out His enemies bent on destroying His people & Himself at the battle of Armageddon.
They are completely different events & fully described in Scripture as such so there is no confusing of the two.
Daniel 9:27 states, “And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.”
The covenant for one week or 7 years will be a false peace treaty. The first part of 1 Thessalonians 5:3 states, “For when they shall say, Peace and safety;..” This refers to Daniel 9:27 false peace treaty. Israel will be a nation of “unwalled villages” as stated in Ezekiel 38:11. Ezekiel 38:11 states “And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,” Israel will believe they are at peace. The anti-christ is called the “man of sin” in the 1st 3.5 years of the tribulation (2 Thessalonians 2).
Then I Thessalonians 5:3 goes on to say “then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.” The second seal or the red horse starts to ride (Revelation 6). Red horse is symbolic of war. This happens when the “son perdition” declares himself to be God in the 3rd temple in Jerusalem (2 Thessalonians 2). This happens in the “midst” or middle of the tribulation. Jesus deals with this in Matthew 24 when he discusses the “abomination of desolation” spoken by Daniel the prophet. The abomination of desolation happens when the anti-christ declares himself to be God. The Jews are commanded by the Lord to flee no matter if it is winter. They will flee to Jordan or Edom to be protected by God (Revelation 12).
Finally, Daniel 9:27 is a confirmation (to make strong, strengthen in Hebrew) of an existing peace treaty. Is this the Abraham Accords? Stay tuned.
Scripture must be fulfilled no matter what. With that said, I’ll say this;
Trump may want a no nuke Iran but trump does not want a free Iran. Trump has worked hard to stop Israel second phase which was to pound The IRGC enough that Iran’s unarmed, already brutalized people have a chance to topple the regime.
To me, it is clear that trump wants no free Iran but why is fascinating.
Best way to understand is recognize that Abraham accords gets some individuals very very rich or richer and quickens the ai beast system on everyone.
If Iran becomes free, what might happen is Iran will return to an alliance with Israel and India. Iran Israel, India together is a powerhouse.
Together they can rapidly become armanents self sufficient no longer needing america for anything in a few years. America would no longer be needed in the region nor be able to push them around anymore. That’s actually good for america but not it’s rulers. An independent Kurdistan in Iraq and east Syria might emerge as a 4th in this new alliance. The Persian gulf states and possibly even the Saudis might join this alliance. This replaces the Abraham accords and no Nobel for trump. No huge profits for trump and his backers.
Trump looks good when what he wants overlaps what many of us want but that’s in the overlap not in a lot of other things.
Trump by his peace ideas will cause horrendous destruction so that aligns with ez 38 war so I guess it must happen but it’s sad as trump is preventing real peace from coming ignited by a free Iran.
