Netanyahu and Macron spar over French demand that Israel reach ceasefire with Hezbollah and Israel’s call for UN peacekeepers to evacuate from southern Lebanon.
Israel’s prime minister and France’s president sparred Tuesday over the ongoing war between Israel and Hezbollah, as well as the United Nation’s role in establishing the Jewish state.
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke by phone with French President Emmanuel Macron, rebuffing the latter’s demand that Israel agree to a unilateral ceasefire in Lebanon.
According to a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office, Netanyahu told Macron that such a move “would not change the security situation in Lebanon and would return the country to its previous state.”
Netanyahu also expressed dismay at Macron’s plans to host a summit in Paris on the war between Israel and Hezbollah, inviting leaders from countries including South Africa and Algeria.
The South African government has accused Israel of genocide in a petition to the International Court of Justice, with Algeria seconding the motion.
Also on Tuesday, Macron chided Netanyahu, telling cabinet ministers the Israeli leader must respect United Nations decisions, and not pressure the United Nations Interim Force In Lebanon (UNIFIL) to evacuate from southern Lebanon.
“Mr. Netanyahu must not forget that his country was created by a decision of the UN,” Macron was quoted as saying by a participant in the meeting who spoke with AFP.
“Therefore this is not the time to disregard the decisions of the UN.”
Israel declared its independence on May 14th, 1948, as the British Mandate for Palestine, established by the League of Nations after World War II, lapsed.
A non-binding resolution passed by the UN General Assembly on November 29th, 1947 – UN Resolution 181 – recommended the partition of the Mandate into a Jewish state, an Arab state, and an international zone under UN custodianship.
While the leadership of the Jewish Agency for Palestine gave qualified support for the plan, it was rejected by the Mandate’s Arab Higher Committee and the Arab League, and was never adopted.
Netanyahu rebutted Macron’s comments in a statement issued Tuesday, noting that Israel was not established by the non-binding UN resolution.
“A reminder to the French President: It was not a UN decision that established the State of Israel but the victory that was achieved in the War of Independence with the blood of our heroic fighters, many of whom were Holocaust survivors, including from the Vichy regime in France.”
“It would also be worthwhile to recall that in recent decades, the UN has approved hundreds of antisemitic decisions against the State of Israel, the purpose of which is to deny the one and only Jewish state’s right to exist and its ability to defend itself.” source
Lebanon’s problem is that they are not treating Hezbollah the same as Israel does, as an enemy! As, sooner they do, the sooner they will have Israel off their backs, and the curse!

Israel did not need a u.n. vote to be reborn. The u.n. vote only made things a little easier. During ww 2, there was a conflict in Israel between the right and left over whether to knock off the British soldiers and declare independence to open Israel to the Jews of Europe to flee into. Because of war in Europe, Britain had reduced it’s troops in Israel to only 5000 soldiers. Very easy to take out such a small number. Some might flee and some would actually switch sides. To do this required both right and left to unify on this. Ben-Gurion said no, that to attack the British would be like allied with Germany. That is foolishness. I wish it had happened but God must have all things in it’s proper time as God knows the big picture we do not see in advance.
God gives us all free will. Many not so good people had power so God uses the not so good to rebirth Israel. God can have a donkey speak if he so desires. The religious Jews would not return to Israel in pre independence times. So God had to use atheist or socialist Jews to return first as they were willing. God just uses what is available based on free will.
God recreated Israel as he promised period. The methods used was God’s choice

Today heard a pastor say something I had never thought of. We know Damascus will be destroyed some night before morning. It’s all, who does it, Israel, america, a nuke work accident there, etc.
The pastor said, what if God destroys Damascus by a huge earthquake giving God and not man the glory ?

There is the Damascus Fault running through their city with only a present predictable quake of a maximum magnitude of 4.2. Not nearly the size capable of the destruction foretold in Is.17:1. Although, God can still produce one greater; we know that no matter how it will come to pass, it will come to pass and that prophecy itself glorifies God. “Remember the former things of old, For I am God, and there is no other; I am God and there is none like me. Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things that are yet not done, Saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, And I will do all My pleasure.'” Is.46:9-10
Instead of being defeated by a conservative party, Macron partnered with and turned his country over to a left wing lunatic group. He has no good advice to offer anyone. God says “..Do not touch My anointed ones…”

It’s probably just a coincidence but the bible mentions the A/C as the Prince who is to come. Every french president is also automatically the Prince of the little kingdom of Andorra by a treaty.

I simply meant that one of these days, hopefully in the not to distant future, it will all be over, and Macron, and everyone else too, will have to give account of themselves before God Almighty. That really cannot happen soon enough for my taste! 😀
