“…It is written, Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have they entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love him.
But God has revealed them unto us by his Spirit…” 1 Cor 2:9-10/Isaiah 64:4
Before creation ever took place God had a purpose and plan for the world that would far exceed anything man could think or imagine; and it would be a gift.
Isaiah foretold of the gift: “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is GIVEN: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6
The angels announced the arrival of the gift: “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:11 The unimaginable, priceless gift from God to man was His own Son, Jesus Christ. The gift is ours when we receive Jesus Christ into our hearts and, as we begin to read God’s word, He unfolds to us the greatness of His gift.
God has declared that we all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, that there is none righteous, no not one; that we all like sheep have gone astray; that all our righteousness is as filthy rags in the sight of God.
Who would have imagined that God would love us so much that He would give His Son to be the sacrifice for our sins and iniquity, and that of death on the cross?
Who would have imagined that the Savior of the world and the King of glory would have taken this path of death and resurrection to reach His throne?
Who could have imagined that there would come a day when mortal, sinful man could have all his sins washed away and possess everlasting life?
Who could have imagined a day when God would enter into man through His Holy Spirit to live in him and seal him unto God forever? That we would be one with Jesus even as He is one with the Father? That the Father would love us even as He loves Jesus?
Who could have imagined that one day these frail bodies of ours will be transformed into the glorious likeness of our Lord when we see Him?
How priceless is the thought that Jesus promised never to leave nor forsake us; that He ever lives to make intercession for us while we are here on earth. That through Christ, I can meet with my Heavenly Father daily and present my needs, my petitions, my requests and know He will hear and answer. To know when I sin I can confess my sins to Him and He will forgive me.
How awesome is the city that God has built for us to live in; New Jerusalem.
Who could have ever imagined the size of this city? 1500 miles square and 1500 miles high. The walls and street of that city are pure, transparent gold. God and Jesus will live there with us and their glory will be the light of that city and the new heaven and the new earth.
Jesus said: “In my Father’s house are many mansions… I go to prepare a place for you…if I go, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” John 14:2-3
Living, loving and serving the Father with Jesus forever: what a Gift! God offers you this gift; He invites you, He calls you to turn to Him and repent of your sins and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved. It is His gift to you. Inside that gift is more love, joy and peace than you could ever imagine.
Merry Christmas from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ!
