 Classmates Welcome Israeli Girl Back to Kindergarten After 7 Weeks in Hamas Captivity

For at least a few moments Monday, the shadow of death that has hovered over Israel for the past two months parted for a ray of unstinted joy.

On Monday, five-year-old Emilia Aloni completed her journey from the arms of evil to the arms of her kindergarten classmates.

Emilia Aloni and her mother were held by Hamas for seven weeks after being taken from the kibbutz of Nir Oz, which is located barely two miles from the border with Gaza, according to the Times of Israel.

A video posted to X of her return is a reminder that security in a nation scarred by the massacre of Oct. 7 is ever-present, as the girl waits for the gate to her school to be unlocked.

When it is, the girl’s teacher said she wanted to start singing in celebration, according to the Times of Israel, which provided a translation of the comments in the video.

IDF CHIEF SUGGESTS ISRAEL MAY FLOOD HAMAS TUNNELS WITH SEAWATER

Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi suggested Tuesday that it might be a “good idea” to flood the Hamas terror tunnels in Gaza with seawater, commenting on a report in the Wall Street Journal that Israel was thinking about it.

The Journal report stated: “Israel has assembled a system of large pumps it could use to flood Hamas’s vast network of tunnels under the Gaza Strip with seawater, a tactic that could destroy the tunnels and drive the fighters from their underground refuge but also threaten Gaza’s water supply, U.S. officials said.”

It was not clear whether the report was credible, given that the Journal had been inaccurate in its report that Israel and Hamas had agreed to pause fighting for an eighth day; Hamas broke the truce shortly thereafter.

But Halevi appeared to give credence to the report, as the Times of Israel noted Tuesday:

Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi appeared to confirm on Tuesday a report that Israel aims to flood Hamas’s tunnel network in the Gaza Strip, calling it “a good idea.”

“We have various ways [to deal with the tunnels], I won’t talk about specifics, but they include explosives to destroy, and other means to prevent Hamas operatives from using the tunnels to harm our soldiers,” he said.

“Therefore, any means which give us an advantage over the enemy that [uses the tunnels], deprives it of this asset, is a means that we are evaluating using. This is a good idea, but I won’t comment on its specifics,” Halevi added.

Flooding the tunnels could create other problems. It could harm some of the Israeli hostages, who may be imprisoned in the tunnels. It could also further undermine the structural integrity of Gaza’s buildings, already damaged by bombing.

Pray that there are no hostages in any of those tunnels. I believe that Israeli intel is back up and running at full speed.

DIED SUDDENLY REPORT: Fan in His 30s Dies at Sacramento Kings Game

A young fan reported to be “in his 30s” died inside the stadium at the Sacramento Kings-New Orleans Pelicans game on Monday night.

The tragedy occurred during the first quarter of the NBA contest at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento. The man received medical attention, but to no avail.

“EMS immediately responded and administered CPR,” the Kings said in a statement. “Tragically, these efforts were unsuccessful, and the guest passed away.

“The organization offers its deepest condolences to the guest’s family and loved ones.”

“As a team, we give our condolences to the passing,” said Kings forward Keegan Murray, who was informed of the incident involving the fan during the game. “Obviously, I want to tell all of our guys that. Hopefully, the family is being taken care of.”
