Why Aren’t We Retaliating Over That Chinese Bio Lab Found in California?

I have been wondering about this for the last few days. Isn’t it amazing (NOT in a good way) that news breaks which shocks us to the core of our being, and then ::::::::::::::crickets::::::::::::::??

WHY is this happening?

A report by the Daily Mail (love them or hate them, they have the most thorough coverage I’ve seen about this) listed the following horrors documented by investigators:

We’ve talked a lot about China’s encroachment on the United States here at The OP. We discussed the vast swaths of land being bought up by Chinese investors, including and airstrip in Texas. We discussed the secret Chinese police stations right here on American soil. There was the Chinese spy balloon that was allowed to fly all across the country, taking photos of our own facilities before finally being shot down over the Atlantic Ocean. And now there is the secret Chinese bio lab in California that is every bit as egregious – and possibly more so.

If you haven’t heard, an unassuming warehouse about an hour outside of Fresno, California, was found to contain evidence of horrific, black-market biological experiments. Reedley City, a fairly small town of fewer than 25,000 people, was the site of a shocking laboratory.

What was in the Chinese bio lab?

This lab was found back in December, and we’re just now hearing about it. Juanita Adame of YourCentralValley.com broke the story and shared the shock of local officials.

“This is an unusual situation. I’ve been in government for 25 years. I’ve never seen anything like this,” said Reedley City Manager Nicole Zieba.

Even county health officials were left in shock.“I’ve never seen this in my 26-year career with the County of Fresno,” said Assistant Director of the Fresno County Department of Public Health Joe Prado.

What was supposed to be an empty building used only for storage was home to a black-market type of lab testing facility.“So there was over 800 different chemicals on site in different bottles of different acids. Unfortunately, a lot of these are being categorized under unknown chemicals,” Prado explained.The discovery was made after a local code enforcement officer noticed this garden hose poking out a back wall of the building.“Frankly, we knew that should not have been there and when she went to investigate, she found that there was activity or operation or something happening within that building,” Zieba said…

“Through their statements that they were doing some testing on laboratory mice that would help them support, developing the COVID test kits that they had on-site,” Prado said.

Health officials discovered nearly 1,000 lab mice, 200 of which were already dead.Also found were thousands of vials, many of which contained biohazardous materials including human blood, and other unknown substances.

“A lot of these labels have been removed from bottles so there was only so much testing. We could do those chemicals,” Prado continued.According to court documents officials with the Centers for Disease Control tested what they could and determined that at least 20 potentially infectious viral, bacterial, and parasitic agents were present including E. Coli, malaria, and even COVID.

But the original story, as scary as it is, is putting it mildly. Here’s some horrifying footage from inside the lab.

Now that everybody knows, the FBI and the CDC have “raided” the lab occupied only by laboratory animals.

Photos obtained by DailyMail.com via court documents show dead mice stuffed in storage bins haphazardly shoved on shelves and freezers filled to the brim with bottles of blood and plasma of origins unknown.The images also show stacks of boxes containing dangerous pathogens, including one labeled ‘malaria’ that had Chinese etched on it. Other infectious agents discovered during the bust include Covid-19, tuberculosis, HIV, herpes, and dengue fever……On March 3, investigators gained entry to the warehouse on I street operated by an organization called Prestige BioTech.They discovered a small room containing nearly 1,000 white mice crowded into storage containers under bright lights 24 hours a day, seven days a week in an airless room on perpetually dirty bedding. When investigators found them, hundreds were already dead.A wide array of vials were also identified containing biomaterials, including blood and tissue, as well as many other unlabeled chemicals.Some were found to contain chlamydia, E. Coli, streptococcus pneumonia, hepatitis B and C, herpes 1 and 5, rubella and malaria. And it appears that the biological waste produced at the site was discarded in such a way that violated the safe remotal protocols required in the state Medical Waste Management Act.To date, city officials have removed than 5,000 gallons of biological waste from the site over three separate trips……Among hundreds of vials of dangerous viruses and bacteria along with shelves of dead and distressed mice lacking food and water, investigators also found over 30 freezers containing biological materials, some of which ‘had either stopped functioning or were failing due to an inadequate power supply……There were also freezers that they did not dare open for fear of exposure to whatever infectious agents were stored inside.

Court documents seem to indicate that officials were aware of this lab before it was abandoned, citing conversations about the welfare of the mice.

Why aren’t we holding anyone accountable for this?

My biggest question, after I reeled myself back from the horror of this lab with no oversight conducting deadly experiments all willy-nilly, is, why aren’t we holding anyone accountable for this?

Is it because we funded the bio lab in China that most likely started the Covid pandemic, as per Congressional testimony? Tit for Tat? Is it because of all the favors allegedly sold to foreign interests by the First Son with the alleged knowledge of the President? Is it that our White House just doesn’t care what China does, and seems, in fact, to be allowing China greater liberties than ever before?

Or is it just because we have notoriously weak leadership?It’s my opinion that such a risky breach on our own soil, in a populated area, without the knowledge or permission of local officials, is egregious enough to be considered an act of war. If not that, it certainly deserves some kind of rebuke or retaliation.

But all we hear from our national leadership is crickets.The next deadly pandemic – one that would’ve put the Covid pandemic to shame – could have so easily started in a dusty town in the middle of the Central Valley and nobody with any power seems to care. That’s where a whole lot of our produce comes from, I might add, which illustrates just how easy it would’ve been to infect the entire country from this location.

I’m disgusted. Not only by this laboratory of horrors but also by our own ineffectual leadership.If you needed more evidence that we are completely on our own, here you have it.

Philippines Crackdown On Missionaries, Churches Accused Of ‘Communism’

Church groups say Philippines President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte are silencing Christian missionaries, priests, and bishops through “red-tagging tactics” for allegedly criticizing the government.

Ted-tagging labels these Christians as “communist sympathizers,” leading to detentions and potentially even killings of the accused, Worthy News established.

Many are charged with supporting or financing the communist rebellion by New People’s Army fighters in the Philippines, according to Christians familiar with the situation.

Reminiscent of the 1940s and 1950s McCarthyism in the United States, “the tactic imperils the lives of the accused,” explained Elizabeth Kendal, a leading international religious liberty analyst and advocate.

Elected in a landslide in May 2022, the administration of President Marcos Jr. and Vice President Duterte “appears poised to continue and even accelerate the brutal and unjust policies employed by their fathers,” she added.

Kendal, who investigated red-tagging, said it impacts “journalists, conservationists, human rights activists, advocates, or Christian missionaries tending to the needs of the vulnerable poor and downtrodden.

”Victims of ‘red-tagging’ “often disappear, imprisoned, tortured or

dead, mostly at the hands of security forces with wide-ranging powers and guaranteed impunity,” she warned in comments to Worthy News.

MISSIONARIES TARGETED

In one of the latest known cases, police in Sultan Kudarat province in southwest Mindanao detained Aileen Manipol Villarosa, 41), a lay missionary with the Catholic Rural Missionaries of the Philippines (RMP). She faces 55 counts of financing terrorism, according to Christian observers of the case.

Among others targeted were workers of the Protestant Iglesia Filipina Independiente denomination (IFI), an independent member of the worldwide Anglican Communion.

Their troubles began on June 3, 2022, when in Ilocos Norte province, in the country’s far north-west, posters and leaflets were found in front of an IFI cathedral in Laoag city and its church in Banna town.

The publications reportedly bore names and faces of IFI church leaders, accusing them of recruiting for the communist New People’s Army (NPA), the armed wing of the Communist Party of the Philippines, Worthy News learned.

Later in August 2022, some 16 missionaries were detained, including five nuns with the RMP, a Catholic mission group working to alleviate hardship in impoverished rural areas. “They were charged with alleged financing of terrorism, specifically, transferring funds to the NPA,” Kendal told Worthy News.

On October 3 last year, the IFI was again targeted by a user of the social media outlet Facebook named ‘NTF-ELCAC Caraga’ in the country’s eastern Mindanao region. The NTF-ELCAC is the government-run National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict.

The force was created by previous hardline President Rodrigo Duterte with billions of pesos at its disposal, making red-tagging his government’s official policy.

NAMES PUBLISHED

It published names and images of IFI church leaders “accused of being NPA recruiters and terrorists,” Worthy News monitored. The IFI said in a reaction that “red-tagging has become now the present fashion and common face of harassment, intimidation, and threats…

”The denomination blamed “people and groups most likely associated with the state security sector and government’s agency NTF-ELCAC…

”The IFI added that fellow believers of the United Church of Christ in the Philippines (UCCP) and “certain quarters in the Roman Catholic Church” have also been singled out by authorities. However, these denominations “only strive to be consistent with their prophetic ministry, social witness and pastoral advocacy,” the IFI stressed.

Yet, “These churches have been named earlier as ‘enemies of the state’ and the military and police have been circulating materials and personnel to proliferate this insinuation to the public.”

The IFI referred to UCCP Reverend Edwin Egarand his wife, Julieta Egar, who, along with 71 others, “were red-tagged; charged with supporting terrorism” in November 2022.Fearing for their lives, the Christian couple and lay leader Ronald Ramos successfully asked the Supreme Court for protection from “red-tagging by members of the Philippine Army’s Infantry Battalion in Batangas,” some 62 miles (100 kilometers) south of the capital Manila.Despite their legal success, the petitioners remain in hiding, “living in fear, wondering whether tomorrow will be their last,” Christians said.

PRAYERS URGED

Kendal asked believers “to pray” for the situation as “the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence ‘red-tagged’ 18 groups.”

They also include aid group Oxfam, the National Council of Churches in the Philippines (NCCP), and a non-denominational fellowship of Protestant churches.Christian leaders have expressed concerns that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will follow the authoritarian style of his late presidential father and the Rodrigo Duterte policies.

Human Rights Watch also condemned the recent red-tagging of Indigenous people, contributing “to making the Philippines one of Asia’s most dangerous countries for environmental activists and land defenders.”

“Activists are also harassed through the justice system, with many facing politically motivated charges for defamation and other fabricated offenses. The administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. should urgently issue a clear directive to all government officials to stop red-tagging and take appropriate action against those responsible”, the advocacy group said. source

59 Missing Children Found Among 200 Sex Trafficking Victims

The Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) have announced that in a nationwide sting operation known as “Operation Cross Country,” authorities have recovered more than 200 victims of human trafficking and missing individuals, 121 of whom were minors.

“Sex traffickers exploit and endanger some of the most vulnerable members of our society and cause their victims unimaginable harm,” Attorney General Merrick B. Garland said in a statement. 

The FBI-led initiative, which was carried out for two weeks in collaboration with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), located 59 victims of child sex trafficking and child sexual exploitation, along with 59 missing children.

In addition, authorities were able to identify or arrest at least 126 suspects facilitating child sexual exploitation, along with 68 suspected human traffickers.The campaign, according to federal officials, “focused on identifying and locating victims of sex trafficking and investigating and arresting individuals and criminal enterprises involved in both child sex and human trafficking.”

“The success of Operation Cross County reinforces what NCMEC sees every day. Children are being bought and sold for sex in communities across the country by traffickers, gangs and even family members,” said Michelle DeLaune, president and CEO of the center. 

According to officials, the youngest victim was 11-years-old and the minors were, on average, around 15-years-old.

“Unfortunately, such crime – against both adults and children – are far more common than most people realize. As we did in this operation, the FBI and our partners will continue to find and arrest traffickers, identify and help victims, and raise awareness of the exploitation our most vulnerable populations,” FBI Director Christopher Wray said.

In 2021, more than half of all trafficking victims in the U.S. were minors, according to the Human Trafficking Institute. source
