Scientists were left baffled after material broke off of the sun’s surface and created a tornado-like swirl around its northern pole.
The remarkable phenomenon was caught by NASA on the James Webb Space Telescope and tweeted by Dr. Tamitha Skov, a space weather forecaster.
“Talk about Polar Vortex!” she wrote last week. “Material from a northern prominence just broke away from the main filament & is now circulating in a massive polar vortex around the north pole of our Star. Implications for understanding the Sun’s atmospheric dynamics above 55° here cannot be overstated!”

Unusual activity typically occurs at the sun’s 55-degree latitudes once every 11-year solar cycle, according to experts, but this incident is stumping researchers.
A prominence is a large, bright feature that extends outward from the sun’s surface. Other filament tear-aways have been observed in the past — not like this, though.
Solar physicist Scott McIntosh, the deputy director at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Colorado, told Space.com that researchers aren’t sure what causes such a unique event.
“Once every solar cycle, it forms at the 55-degree latitude and it starts to march up to the solar poles,” McIntosh said. “It’s very curious. There is a big ‘why’ question around it. Why does it only move toward the pole one time and then disappear and then come back, magically, three or four years later in exactly the same region?”

While experts admit it probably has something to do with the sun’s magnetic field, the rest remains a mystery due to humanity’s limited view of its star. Scientists can only view the sun from the “ecliptic plane,” or the geometric plane that contains the orbit of Earth.
The European Space Agency’s Solar Orbiter mission — which is taking photos of the sun while raising its orbit beyond the ecliptic plane — might provide answers, but until then, researchers are left scratching their heads.
Experts have observed solar projections fairly often, such as last year’s solar flares that threatened to impact Earth. Such projections could disrupt GPS systems, power grids, and even radio signals, researchers warned at the time — although there’s no way to precisely predict how this solar vortex would affect our planet.
Just this month, the sun projected multiple “powerful” flares that disrupted communication on Earth, according to Space.com, although it appeared to be otherwise harmless. The sun is en route to reaching its peak of activity during the current 11-year cycle in 2025. Source
When I first saw this today, my mind went immediately to God’s Word. Stories like this one make me wonder how close we are to the end. I do not have a deep understanding of God’s Word about the end days. I read Mark 13 over and over today to attempt to gain more understanding. Many people write to me asking if I think we are in the beginning of Tribulation. I answer them that I just don’t know.
I do know that we should be reading God’s Word daily and praying to Him daily. We should share the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ with the lost whenever God opens a door.

While we aren’t in the Tribulation yet (that begins with the signing of the 7-year covenant between Israel, many nations and the AC) we are indisputably seeing the stage being set up for it. War, famine, pestilence and death come from the first 4 seals, but first the AC rises.
Jesus told us we would see signs in the heaven, there would be earthquakes in diverse places, wars and rumors of wars, etc…but the end is not yet. All of the seal, trumpet and bowl judgments will occur within the 7 years.
We are near, and according to JD Farag, Tom Hughes and the other credible godly pastors who are watchmen,the next event on the prophetic timeline is the Rapture.

Yes. The tribulation is going to be so much worse. We are going through trials. Satan is working and frantic. The “church” will be raptured before THE Tribulation. Study Revelation, people.
The Great Tribulation is the last 3 1/2 years of the 7 year Tribulation. That is when Antichrist commits the abomination which causes desolation when he sits in the Temple as if he is God. The eyes of the Jewish people are finally opened but he slaughters 2/3 of them. 1/3 run to the hills.
“While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night shall not cease.” Gen.8:22. His word will not fail. The climate alarmists just can’t understand that God is Sovereign and in control.
I think we are in the middle of the Tribulation. I believe it started March of 2020 when covid arrived. That is my personal belief. And especially after reading Mark 13. But I don’t know for sure. No one does. The point is to just be ready to meet Christ at all times. We are living in amazing times.

The birth pangs are intensifying and HE Told us in HIS WORD what they would be like from our perspective. We simply need to keep reminding ourselves and each other what that will look like. We are very close to the beginning of Jacob’s Trouble.
