The Diabolical Soviet Plan to Destroy America Explained by Yuri Bezmenov, An Ex-KGB Operative Who Warned Us in His Book “Love Letter to America”
Here is how we got to where we are today
I will never forget the words our youngest son said to me on the first day of college.
“My professor says that Patriotism and Nationalism are wrong and they cause major problems in the world.”
I had never heard this taught and it troubled me. This same year (2003) was the year our sons began questioning the Bible and even the existence of God.
We were horrified.
Let’s go back to 1984
No – not to the iconic Orwell novel of the same name “1984”- I want to take you to an interview with a most interesting person. His name was Yuri Bezmenov and he had been a KGB Operative who defected to Canada. His work in the KGB specialized in Propaganda, so he knew their tactics well.
He wrote a book “Love Letter To America” and used his pen name Tomas Schuman.
The book was truly a “Love Letter” because in it, Yuri warned the U.S. that the Communists under the USSR had been planning the destruction of our way of life for many years. I call this “diabolical” in the title because it is pure evil and Satanic.
You see, the Communists would not have to use weapons – nuclear or otherwise. They would use “Cultural Subversion.” The reader will understand more about this later in this article.
Here is the interview Yuri did in 1984. It is only a little over 13 minutes long and I urge the reader to watch:
After I watched Yuri Bezmenov explain how the KGB were systematically dismantling the beliefs of Americans using Marxist educators; and how they had calculated how long each phase of the “Cultural Subversion” would take – it nearly took my breath away.
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand” (Ephesians 6:10-13).
Brethren, during these unprecedented times in which we live, let us never forget that we are wrestling with the enemy of our souls – Satan and his legions of demons.

It’s time to rediscover KGB defector Yuri Bezmenov
His book “Love Letter to America” explained in great detail how the USSR was working to destroy America.

In 1970, Yuri Bezmenov, a 31-year-old KGB officer specializing in propaganda, defected to Canada. Bezmenov (also known as Tomas Schuman) was sickened by the oppressive nature and toll of communist totalitarianism, and wanted to devote his life to educating Western nations, America in particular, on what he and the KGB had been doing to us, to undermine and ultimately destroy our societies.
In 1984, Bezmenov published a small book, Love Letter to America, in which he explained, in great detail, how the Communists running the USSR were working to destroy America—not using physical weapons, but through what he described as “cultural subversion.”
That same year, he delivered a one-hour video presentation that summarizes his book. (See a four-hour compilation of his video interviews and lectures here.)
After publishing his book and delivering this presentation, in 1984, Bezmenov began teaching international relations at Windsor College (Canada). He died in early 1993.
In his book and his interview, Bezmenov provided at least 10 major insights that are just as applicable today as they were then:
1) The KGB, the former Soviet Union’s secret police, used only 15 percent of its resources for traditional espionage (or “James Bond stuff,” as Bezmenov put it)—and 85 percent for ideological and psychological warfare (cultural subversion), through the use of “active measures” to interfere in, and degrade, the affairs of enemy states.
2) These “active measures” were designed to corrupt a targeted free, self-governing country (and its elections) to the point where the people acted in the interests of the USSR, though not aware that they were doing so. Those affected people were referred to by the Soviet dictators as “useful idiots” and included prominent figures from Hollywood, authors and others.
In summary, they advocated nice-sounding goals like “equality” (group poverty, as in the USSR) and “social justice” (which is never quite defined, but is always against capitalism, America and Western civilization, in general), while accepting, or not realizing, that they were being used to advance murderous communist propaganda.
3) Around 1965, the KGB sought to undermine America’s elementary schools. By now, three generations of teachers and students have been indoctrinated with subversive Socialist ideologies. This subversion went unchallenged by an increasing number of schools and teachers, which steadily sabotaged (and now vilifies) traditional American values.
4) As these students progressed to universities, they were not only unaware of the lies they’d been told, they were primed and receptive to higher-level indoctrination of hatred for freedom, democracy, individual rights, limited constitutional government, free enterprise, etc. And once they graduated, they became the next generation of leaders, in all segments of society. This ongoing process destabilized our society, as these Communist values clashed with those who still believed in the constitution and its principles.
5) The “destabilization” process was accelerated by also attacking religion, primarily Judaism and Christianity, and turning peoples’ attention to personal, short-term gratification and human degradation of innumerable forms, largely through destroying the family, while the virtues of thrift, goal-setting, diligence, savings and sobriety were gradually forgotten.
6) Further destabilization came by replacing the teaching of important core science, with an overarching emphasis on humanities. America, which once was the undisputed world leader in science and technology, now is witness to the fact that a majority of students in our universities that focus on these disciplines are foreign, primarily from China, who then take what they’ve learned back to their home nations.
And in the case of China, ruled by a Communist dictatorship, we are literally training (if not subsidizing) the rise of our most lethal adversary, which is now approaching the technical sophistication of all of America’s weapons systems.
7) Another key facet of KGB’s subversion efforts was creating a permanent “crisis” mode, with a full-scale attack on free markets and legitimate historical and constitutional organizations. Big-government promises of free goods would be used to encourage voters (who’d been primed for such offers, via our schools) to seek a strong leader or even “benevolent” national ruler to fulfill these unfulfillable promises.
If Bezmenov were still alive, he would undoubtedly say that the United States has now entered into this “civil war” stage, as violent anarchists, Communists, “cancel” militants and other opportunists (including Islamists) use force to provoke attacks against statues (history) and the police in nearly 20 American cities, most of which have been “governed” at all levels by far-left “useful idiots” for decades.
8) After the resulting “civil war,” if the conservative forces who advocate for constitutional rule of law were to lose, a new “normalization” process would take over, as people get used to far fewer rights, but the illusion of less economic dislocation, under the rule of a “benevolent“ (Communist/Socialist) dictator—who, judging from history, will not remain benevolent for very long.
9) To save freedom, Bezmenov suggested very harsh responses to those who seek to violently overthrow our constitution, even if some liberties had to be temporarily suspended. The alternative is a full Communist takeover or an even worse invasion by a foreign enemy.
10) Bezmenov also suggested a mass public movement to remind and reeducate the population as to the virtue of traditional American values, in order to help the citizens regain their confidence in their base values.
In 1984, Yuri Bezmenov bravely warned us of Communist subversion, as we were (and still are) in a state of war with this failed ideology that has killed more than 100 millionpeople in the 20th century alone.
While many of us are at work, America’s children and young adults are being targeted by the new wave of anti-American Communist propaganda, funded by:

Here is just one example of the Russian government-funded “SoapBox” (part of “InTheNow”)—in which the host, Rania Khalek whitewashes the violent domestic anarchists and communists who are tearing apart U.S. cities and attacking federal facilities—while vilifying and justifying the violent attacks on the federal law enforcement officers who have been risking their lives to protect those facilities (and themselves).
How successful have the communists been at subverting American freedom—thanks to the “useful idiots” at all levels of our government, “educational” institutions, “news” industry and arts? Consider, as documented in “Save the West” editor Jon Sutz’s independent report, “America at the Precipice”:
• “The Communist Manifesto” is the most-assignedeconomics textbook in U.S. colleges, assigned more than twice as frequently as any other economics book.
• Seventy percent of U.S. millennials say that they would vote for a Socialist for elective office.
• Thirty-six percent of U.S. millennials “approve of communism” (up from 28 percent in 2018).
• Eighty-three percent of U.S. college graduates and 68 percent of elected officials cannot identify the functional differences between the free market and a command (totalitarian) economy
• Sixty-four percent of Americans overall (across political parties) now agree with Marx’s core doctrine, “From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.”
We didn’t listen to Yuri Bezmenov in 1984.

Brethren, it may very well be too late for America, but only God knows. Deep State, the Leftist media, ANTIFA, BLM and the likes of George Soros are salivating at the thought that Marxism will replace our Republic.
If you watched the interview with Yuri, you will remember that he said that people who are brainwashed (Hollywood, news media, Academia, millenials, etc etc) will NOT be able to discern truth – even if they were given many indisputible FACTS, their minds cannot accept anything that contradicts the narrative which is ingrained in their brains. You see, this is truly brainwashing in its purest form.
Are things beginning to come into focus? They are for me. This does not take away that sadness, but it does help to understand that Satan orchestrated this and has had his people carry all of it out to the letter.
I think that it was such a brave and noble thing that Yuri Bezmenov did. I do pray that many people will watch the interview and read the article; and then share this with those who would be called “Useful Idiots.”

There are times when I don’t know what to tell people about something in the news.
No born-again Christian wants to be a false teacher, but lies, fake news, censorship, war, and unexpected events make it difficult to know what to believe.
More than 30 years ago, I was teaching that the rider on the black horse in Rev. 6:5-6 represents food shortages, famine, and economic disaster.
It wasn’t long until I decided that it was accurate to say that the rider on the black horse represents hyperinflation and a global economic collapse after the Rapture.
I added “after the Rapture” because people were asking me when I thought the global economy would collapse. (Not all agree, but I believe the first six seal judgments take place after the Rapture and early in the Tribulation Period.)
To be clear, I emphasized that I was talking about a “global” economic collapse, not the collapse of one or two individual nations.
I am not qualified to give financial advice or to say much about global financial matters,
It would be easy for me to misunderstand something.
Anyway, I believe the economy of individual nations that don’t have a strong economy (Sri Lanka, Venezuela, Afghanistan, for example) could collapse without triggering a global economic collapse.
But the U.S. economy is so big, if it collapsed, it could cause a global economic collapse.
I am sharing this with you because some so-called experts are saying the U.S. and the world are on the brink of a global economic disaster, and I am wondering if I should ignore what they are saying or pass it on.
With the World Economic Forum saying we will own nothing, and some leaders seemingly trying to deliberately cause an economic collapse, I decided to say something.
So, here are two opinions that I have about what I think is happening:
- First, every economy on earth must change to bring in a system that can track all buying and selling. The U.S. economy is changing, and it is a known fact that the U.S. is looking at a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) right now. So, America’s economic problems could be setting the stage for a new currency.
- Second, Ten Kings (leaders over regions) must rise to power before the Antichrist rises. This requires a weakening of the U.S. and a shift in power toward other groups of nations. It looks like power is shifting away from the U.S. and toward China, Russia, the Middle East, etc., right now.
Here are some recent reports that seem to relate to this and other Bible prophecies.
One, concerning hyperinflation and a global economic collapse: on Nov. 3, 2022, Market Watch reported that Hedge Fund giant Elliott Management notified investors that:
- The world is headed toward the worst financial crisis since World War II.
- The world is on the path to hyperinflation.
- Central Bank policymakers have been dishonest about the cause of high inflation.
- Markets are going to decline, but they can’t predict when.
- Politicians blame the economic problems on supply chain issues and Covid instead of their spending programs.
This financial crisis could be setting the stage for a new currency (CBDC).

Two, concerning inflation and an economic collapse of the U.S.: on Nov. 3, 2022, Mike Adams (Natural News) expressed his opinion:
- That Pres. Biden snubbed Mohammed bin Salman and so alienated Saudi Arabia that the Saudis have now declared that China (not the U.S.) is its reliable partner for energy and trade. (Put another way, the Saudis don’t trust the U.S. anymore, and they plan to stop using the petrodollar.)
- That the petrodollar (the 1971 agreement for the U.S. to provide military protection to Saudi Arabia in exchange for the Saudis trading their oil for U.S. dollars) will soon end, and that will lead to the collapse of the U.S. dollar.
- That petrodollars are why the U.S. dominates the global economy, and the end of petrodollars by Saudi Arabia and other nations will end U.S. global economic dominance.
- That the end of U.S. global economic dominance will lead to a decline in the dollar’s value, hyperinflation in the U.S., and ultimately the collapse of the dollar.

(My opinion: Saudi Arabia’s shift away from the U.S. and toward China may ultimately lead to a weakening of the U.S. and the strengthening of other groups of nations (Russia, China, Middle East, etc.)
Three, concerning energy shortages: on Oct. 28, 2022, it was reported that companies in New York and New England have started rationing home heating oil.
Four, concerning the deliberate destruction of America’s energy independence and the effort to weaken America: in early Nov. 2022, Pres. Biden said, “We’re going to be shutting these (coal) plants down all across America and having wind and solar power” (Note: Biden said this but without explanation. Biden’s Press Sec. said his words were being “twisted” by the media.)
On Nov. 6, 2022, Biden went to New York to campaign for Kathy Hochul, and he said, “No more drilling. There is no more drilling. I haven’t formed any new drilling.”
These are Biden’s own words, and it is a major reason why the dollar is dying (and the price of gasoline, diesel fuel, utilities, and food will keep going up).
Five, concerning the decline of America: on Nov. 7, 2022, the U.S. Navy raised the enlistment age from 39 to 41 because they can’t attract enough recruits to serve.
Six, concerning persecution: on Nov. 2, 2022, Gary Bauer wrote this in his Campaign for Working Families: End of Day Report:
- “A transgender epidemic is sweeping America’s youth.”
- “The Biden Administration and congressional Democrats are pushing legislation and regulationthat gives trans ideology supremacy over everything, including religious liberty.”
- “If you have a religious objection to the bizarre idea that your biology can be ‘changed’ or ‘fixed,’ the left is going to smash you using the full power of government and social media censorship.”
In my words, Bauer said if you believe there are only two genders for religious reasons, you should know that Democrats believe trans ideology is more important than religious freedom, and they will not hesitate to use the power of the government against you.
Seven, concerning the significance of the Israeli election: as of Nov. 2, 2022, former Israeli Prime Min. Benjamin Netanyahu appears to have the support of 62 or more seats (enough to give him a majority in the 120-seat Knesset).
On Nov. 8, 2022, Pres. Herzog will probably designate him to form a government.
Netanyahu will have 4 weeks to do that, and he can request 2 more weeks that Herzog might grant if Netanyahu needs them.
Some estimates indicate that Netanyahu may have won enough support to form a strong, conservative government.
He is more religious and less secular than his predecessors.
With a stronger, more conservative government than he has had in the past (and more religious Jews in his new government), some commentators believe he is likely to expand Jewish freedoms (allow an altar, more prayer, etc.) on the Temple Mount.
Eight, concerning a one-world religion (or global ethic): two weeks ago, I mentioned that representatives from almost 200 nations, the World Economic Forum (WEF), big business, and others were planning to attend the 27th Conference of the Parties (COP27) in Egypt.
COP27 is scheduled to run from Nov. 6-18, 2022, at Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, which is about 130 miles from Mt. Sinai where God gave the Ten Commandments.
This week, a reader sent me a link to an incredible message by Pastor Brandon Holthaus (Rock Harbor Church; Nov. 4, 2022). “The Whore of Babylon Visits Mt. Sinai” link is https://youtu.be/Nb6MgYEqnqUthat I highly recommend to anyone who has the time (almost 60 min. long).
The message is too long for me to share here, but here are a few points from the message as I understood it.
- A group called the Interfaith Center for Sustainable Development that is attending COP 27 is planning to go to Mt. Sinai to release a set of ten commandments on climate change (on Nov. 14, 2022).
- The group has chosen Mt. Sinai because that is where God gave the Ten Commandments in the Bible to Moses.
- The stated goal of their climate change commandments is to add religious guidance (merge religion and politics) to U.N. public policy discussions.
- This appears to be an effort to replace the Ten Commandments in the Bible with ten commandments on climate change and to make their commandments global policy or global law.
- If this group succeeds in making their ten commandments on climate change global policy, they will use them against people that don’t agree with them. (The Bible teaches that those that don’t comply with global policy during the Tribulation Period will be killed.)
- The Ten Commandments that God gave to Moses at Mt. Sinai are God’s eternal law on how a society should be structured, and breaking them is a sin.
- These globalists intend for society to be structured their way, not God’s way.
- This is the Whore of Babylon (the merger of religion and government) taking shape under the guise of saving the planet or Mother Earth (Rev. 17-18).
(My opinion: It is obvious that the globalist plan to Build Back Better is a plan to use Covid, climate change, or whatever to tear down all the societies on earth and replace them with an anti-Jehovah, anti-Christ, anti-Bible government run by atheists and gays. These “reprobate minds” are “without natural affection,” trying to create a god and people in their image. They are “casting truth to the ground,” trying to kill multitudes to reduce the population of the earth, trying to reset the economy to gain control of everyone, etc. God will remove the “Restrainer,” give them 7 years to accomplish their goals, and it will be the worst failure in history.)
(More: I am not a prophet, but since these globalists are going to Mt. Sinai to replace the Ten Commandments, it wouldn’t surprise me if they decided to build a headquarters for their global religion and global economic system at Babylon. They don’t need a lot of time to do it, and it might not happen before the Rapture, but time will tell.)
Nine, concerning world government and religion: the move to get rid of the Ten Commandments is also a move to get rid of the entire Bible, Jehovah, and Jesus.
On Nov. 4, 2022, it was reported that a cross depicting the crucifixion of Jesus in a room in Germany where Foreign Ministers of the G7 nations (Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the U.K., and the U. S.) holds regular meetings has been removed for all of their meetings.
According to the article, the Foreign Minister of Germany removed the cross “because Western elites no longer want to be reminded of their Christian faith or history.”
Finally, are you Rapture Ready?
If you want to be rapture ready and go to heaven, you must be born again (John 3:3). God loves you, and if you have not done so, sincerely admit that you are a sinner; believe that Jesus is the virgin-born, sinless Son of God who died for the sins of the world, was buried, and raised from the dead; ask Him to forgive your sins, cleanse you, come into your heart and be your Saviour; then tell someone that you have done this.
