A Pennsylvania school board voted Tuesday against establishing an “After School Satan Club” at an elementary school in its district.
The Northern York County School Board in Pennsylvania shot down the idea of implementing the club at Northern Elementary School by a vote of eight to one after a parent in the district named Samantha Groome proposed the club to the board, WPMT reported. The school’s principal had already rejected the program, but “the club was tabled for a probationary vote” at Tuesday’s meeting, Fox News noted.
“There is a lot of evil already in this world, so to allow it to come into our school and our community is not OK,” said parent, Laura Vangeli, according to WHP.
“I never thought anything like this would come to the district … I don’t want my son to be exposed to anything of the sort,” mother Amy Wintermyer told WPMT.
The Satanic Temple (TST) operates the “After School Satan Club” and four such programs are already up and running at schools across the nation, according to WPMT. On its website page with the sub-heading “Educatin’ with Satan,” TST states the club “is an after school program that promotes self-directed education by supporting the intellectual and creative interests of students.”
TST notes that it seeks to enter schools where Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) Good News Clubs are present:
The After School Satan Clubs meet at select public schools where Good News Clubs also operate. Trained educators provide activities and learning opportunities, which students are free to engage in, or they may opt to explore other interests that may be aided by available resources. The environment is open and parents are welcome to participate. While the classes are designed to promote intellectual and emotional development in accordance with TST’s tenets, no proselytization or religious instruction takes place.
“I’m hoping that with our presence, people can see that good people can have different perspectives, sometimes on the same mythology, but not mean any harm,” TST spokesman Lucien Greaves told Fox News.
Greaves asserted that the Northern York County School Board “does not have the authority to decide which religious organizations they prefer holding after-school clubs and which one[s] they don’t,” according to WHP.
“If they deny us the use of a public facility, which they have no right to do it’ll have to move into litigation, costly litigation that the community is going to have to pay for,” he told WPMT.
In 2019, TST announced it had been recognized as a tax-exempt “church” by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), as Breitbart News noted.
In January, the Moline-Coal Valley School District in Illinois released a statement regarding a flyer advertising the “After School Satan Club” to students at Jane Addams elementary school, as Breitbart News reported. In its statement, the district said the decision to establish the program at the school stemmed from “equal access” and noted TST is a “religious-affiliated” group.
Superintendent Rachel Savage also released a statement that suggested a potential lawsuit loomed if the program was “illegally” denied. Source
Former President Barack Obama will deliver a speech at Stanford University on Thursday that embraces his “new role” of policing the national debate over whether social media companies should censor political opponents.
Obama “is expected to add his voice to demands for rules to rein in the flood of lies polluting public discourse,” the New York Timesreported. “In private meetings and public appearances over the last year, the former president has waded deeply into the public fray over misinformation and disinformation, warning that the scourge of falsehoods online has eroded the foundations of democracy at home and abroad.”
The Times noted it is not the first time Obama has delivered a speech on the topic. Last month, Obama spoke at an event organized by the University of Chicago and the Atlantic. Obama said during the speech that social media companies should censor what “we don’t think are good for society.”
“I think it is reasonable for us as a society to have a debate and then put in place a combination of regulatory measures and industry norms that leave intact the opportunity for these platforms to make money,” Obama continued. “But say to them that there’s certain practices you engage in that we don’t think are good for society.”
On Tuesday, Obama took to Twitter to suggest that censorship is needed to prevent “real challenges” to the Washington, DC, establishment. “In recent years, we’ve seen how quickly disinformation spreads, especially on social media,” he said. “This has created real challenges for our democracy.”

As Elon Musk is attempting a hostile takeover of the social media network, polling suggests a plurality of Americans would support Musk restoring Donald Trump on the platform. According to Rasmussen Reports, 46 percent would approve of Trump being restored, while 43 percent opposed. When independents were asked, 47 percent approved and 36 percent opposed, an 11-point spread.
When the polling agency asked if Musk’s potential ownership of Twitter would be “good,” only 24 percent of Democrats said it would be, while 56 percent of Republicans were in favor.

The polling is good news for those who oppose censorship and support the discourse of a variety of ideas. Free speech is a pillar of American society and has historically only been opposed by those who wish to squelch political opponents.
In 1789, John Adams passed the Sedition Act, sanctioning the deportation, fine, or imprisonment of political opponents he deemed a threat of publicizing “false, scandalous, or malicious writing” against the government of the United States. In October 1799, Adams jailed a congressman and publisher, Matthew Lyon, for criticizing the president in print and in speech. The law was revoked under Thomas Jefferson.
Today, social media companies, which are mostly aligned with the Democrat Party, do not have the authority to imprison opponents. Instead, those who violate the terms of service are simply canceled from the public square. Source.

About 12 years ago, I read about a sermon which was given by Martin Luther titled “On the Jews and Their Lies.”
It is difficult to put into words how this impacted me. I was shocked, angry and confused. Wasn’t this man one of the greatest instruments of God to bring about the Great Reformation?
On the Jews and Their Lies (German: Von den Jüden und iren Lügen; in modern spelling Von den Juden und ihren Lügen) is a 65,000-word anti-Judaic and antisemitictreatise written in 1543 by the German Reformation leader Martin Luther (1483–1546).
Luther’s attitude toward Jews took different forms during his lifetime. In his earlier period, until 1537 or not much earlier, he wanted to convert Jews to Lutheranism (Protestant Christianity), but failed. In his later period when he wrote “On the Jews and Their Lies” he denounced them and urged their persecution.[1] (emphasis added)
In the treatise, he argues that Jewish synagogues and schools be set on fire, their prayer books destroyed, rabbis forbidden to preach, homes burned, and property and money confiscated. They should be shown no mercy or kindness,[2] afforded no legal protection,[3] and “these poisonous envenomed worms” should be drafted into forced labor or expelled for all time.[4] He also seems to advocate their murder, writing “[W]e are at fault in not slaying them”.[5] (emphasis added)
The book may have had an impact on creating later antisemitic German thought.[6] With the rise of the Nazi Party in Weimar Germany, the book became widely popular among its supporters. During World War II, copies of the book were commonly seen at Nazi rallies, and according to Marc H. Ellis may have had a significant impact on justifying the Holocaust.[7] Since then, the book has been denounced by many Lutheran churches.[8] (emphasis added)

Luther called this toxic sermon against the Jews “My little book.” This writer believes that Luther’s “Little Book” was instrumental in the intense Jew Hatred which filled Germany during the reign of Adolph Hitler; and led to the Holocaust. Rabid Jew hatred remains in Germany to this very day.

Four hundred years after it was written, the Nazis displayed “On the Jews and Their Lies” during Nuremberg rallies, and the city of Nuremberg presented a first edition to Julius Streicher, editor of the Nazi newspaper Der Stürmer, the newspaper describing it, on Streicher’s first encounter with the treatise in 1937, as the most radically antisemitic tract ever published.[7]
Against this view, theologian Johannes Wallmann writes that the treatise had no continuity of influence in Germany, and was in fact largely ignored during the 18th and 19th centuries.[33]
Hans Hillerbrand argues that to focus on Luther’s role in the development of German antisemitism is to underestimate the “larger peculiarities of German history”.[34]
In May 1948, antisemite Gerald L. K. Smith put out an English translation called “The Jews and Their Lies”, which was published under the name “Christian Nationalist Crusade”.[35]

At the beginning of this piece, I spoke about how conflicted I was when I first heard about the Anti Semitism of Martin Luther. I remember a sister in Christ giving Luther a “pass” by saying “He was only a man” and “perhaps he had dementia??”
