Jordan Summons Israeli Ambassador after al-Aqsa Violence; Abraham Accords Partners Condemn Israel

I was wondering when the so-called partners of the Abraham Accords would turn on Israel and it’s happened. No surprise there

Priestly Blessing draws smaller crowd than usual as police work to maintain a tenuous peace in Jerusalem

The semi-annual Birkat HaKohanimdrew a smaller crowd than usual on Monday with a few thousand Jews attending the Priestly Blessing at the Western Wall as opposed to the usual tens of thousands.

Tensions have been simmering due to violence that has taken place on the Temple Mount during Ramadan, the Muslim fasting month, and Passover, one of the high Jewish holidays. Because of this convergence of holidays, police decided that the Blessing ceremony take place twice – on Monday and Wednesday – in order to facilitate smaller crowds at each one. The Priestly Blessing also is held during the week of the Sukkot holiday.

Jordan summoned Israeli Deputy Ambassador Sami Abu Janeb today over Israel’s “violations” on the Temple Mount. Jordan is the custodian of the al-Aqsa Mosque compound.

Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi said Jordan will host an emergency meeting of Arab League foreign ministers later this week to discuss the “Israeli escalation.”

Clashes occurred at al-Aqsa Mosque on Friday when hundreds of Muslims fought with police at the site. Videos from the scene showed Muslims had stored rocks in the mosque and threw them at Jewish worshippers at the Western Wall on Friday prompting police to raid the compound. Police used tear gas and made several arrests.

Police entered the compound again on Sunday after suspecting Muslims of planning to block non-Muslim visitors to the site. Some threw rocks at Israeli buses outside the Old City, wounding several passengers.

Following these incidents, Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett held an emergency security assessment and said Israeli forces have a “free hand” to maintain calm.

“The main goal is to ensure security for the citizens of Israel throughout the country. The security forces are continuing to receive a free hand from the political echelon for any measure to ensure security for the citizens of Israel,” he said. “We are working to calm things down on the one hand and are taking vigorous action against violent individuals on the other. The security forces are ready for any scenario.”

Israel’s actions drew sharp criticism from several nations including Israel’s Abraham Accords partners, the Palestinian Authority, Jordan and Turkey.

“The UAE strongly condemned today Israeli forces’ storming of al-Aqsa Mosque, which resulted in the injury of a number of civilians,” the United Arab Emirates’ Foreign Ministry said in a statement, stressing that “Israeli authorities should respect the right of Palestinians to practice their religious rites and halt any practices that violate the sanctity of al-Aqsa Mosque.”

“Furthermore, the UAE underscored the need to respect the custodial role of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in accordance with international law and the historical context at hand and not to compromise the authority of the Jerusalem endowment that manages the affairs of al-Aqsa Mosque,” the statement continued.

Morocco used even stronger language calling the incident an “incursion by Israeli occupation forces into the al-Aqsa Mosque, their closure of its gates and their aggression against unarmed worshipers in the mosque compound.”

The statement continued that it “believes that this flagrant aggression and deliberate provocation during the holy month of Ramadan will only inflame hatred and extremism, and reduce to nothing the chances of any relaunch of a peace process in the region.”

The United States also expressed concern. The State Department issued a statement calling on all sides “to exercise restraint, avoid provocative actions and rhetoric, and preserve the historic status quo on the Haram al-Sharif/Temple Mount.”

“We urge Palestinian and Israeli officials to work cooperatively to lower tensions and ensure the safety of everyone,” the statement noted. “The State Department is closely following developments and will continue to be in close contact with senior Israeli and Palestinian officials to seek to deescalate tensions.” Source

My father always told me that we Jews were the world’s scapegoat. I believed it then and I continue to believe as I watch as tensions in the Middle East unfold.

Must control myself and be brief. The dirtbag moshe dayan (whose good deads were done by others in his name only), but his baddest deeds were to tell in 1967 , the hebron arabs on their way to jordan to go back to hebron and his baddest deed was to give the temple mount back to jordan control. The final act of the war should have been to blow up the dome and that would be just old history now. Am aware the dome stays till its destroyed in Jesus’ return to mt. Olives but hey, the seculars should have wackwd it. I still call jordan ( the only arab country with a hebrew name), as arab occupied east bank of israel where 2 citys of refuge are out of the 6. The land of reuben, gad and east manasseh.
The hashemites of mecca britain relocated to the holy land. The hashemites are descended from mohammed. The present king abdulla ii is a wicked satanist. The 8 point star of hashemites has bad meaning. His wife queen rania is close to schwab and evil elites. Enough said as i also blame spineless secular jews in fear of gentiles that messover israel time after time

Not only rocks but fireworks as well. They were armed with dangerous weapons. They store weapons all the time and then cry foul. Their god is Satan and their presence alone defiles the whole land of Israel. Although the eyes of Israel are blinded to Jesus they still don’t follow the law of Moses. “Seventy weeks are determined for your people and for your holy city, to finish the transgression, to make an end of sins, to make reconciliation for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy, and to annoint the Most Holy.” Coming soon!
