An American Airlines plane carrying 178 people caught fire on the tarmac after making an emergency landing at Denver International Airport Thursday evening, forcing many passengers to evacuate by climbing out onto a wing and with emergency slides. Airport officials said 12 passengers were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

The fire started just before 6 p.m. Mountain Time after the plane, a Boeing 737-800, diverted to the airport due to what appeared to be an engine issue.

The Federal Aviation Administration told CBS News in a statement that American Airlines Flight 1006 had departed from Colorado Springs Airport and was bound for Dallas Fort Worth International Airport when the “crew reported engine vibrations.”

“After landing and while taxiing to the gate an engine caught fire and passengers evacuated the aircraft using the slides,” the FAA said.

In a separate statement, American Airlines said the plane experienced an “engine-related issue” after it had landed and taxied to the gate.

The airline said all 172 passengers and six crewmembers got off and were “being relocated to the terminal.”

The plane wound up parking at gate C38 at Concource C.

Multiple videos posted on social media show flames coming from the plane and people evacuating by climbing onto a wing. Heavy smoke was seen coming from the plane during the chaotic scene.

An airport official told CBS News the fire was extinguished soon afterwards.

A family member of one of the passengers told CBS News Colorado that all the luggage was taken off the plane and the passengers were being rebooked for a flight that was scheduled to depart Denver for Dallas at 1 a.m. local time Friday. American Airlines later confirmed that it was sending a replacement aircraft and crew to help customers continue on to DFW.

One passenger, Gabrielle Hibbitts, told CBS News Colorado that, “As soon as the plane landed, we smelled this weird burning plastic smell and then everybody started screaming and saying there was a fire.”

She said once she and her sister were a safe distance away, “We saw the plane … and there was smoke everywhere.”

Their mother, Ingrid Hibbitts, told CBS News Colorado, “It was surreal. I was like, ‘Is this gonna blow up. … What’s happening here? Are they gonna be able to put out the fire?’ I’m really grateful that this happened on the ground because if this happened in the air, I don’t think I’d be standing here telling you the story.”

CBS News transportation safety analyst Robert Sumwalt, a former chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board, said the emergency response on Thursday shows “the importance of having well-trained pilots, well-trained flight attendants, well-trained airport rescue and firefighting personnel and air traffic controllers, all working together to ensure a safe outcome when something like this happens.”

Sumwalt said it’s likely the FAA investigation into the incident will focus on when and where the fire started.

“We’ve got to really understand exactly when this smoke started and … I’m not sure exactly why all of a sudden, when they got to the gate, the smoke started filling the passenger cabin. I think that will be a part of the investigation,” Sumwalt said.

2 Timothy 2:15 KJV – “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

Without due vigilance to obey the command to rightly handle God’s truth, it’s easy to allow our own thinking, our emotions, or the ethos of our cultural moment to shape our interpretation of Scripture. That’s one reason why my father always taught me to start with God’s Word—when we read, study, and apply God’s Word to our lives and recognize that it is our authority, it will keep us from error.

And when you don’t do that—when you allow yourself to be the authority—you can fall into more than accidental error: you can dive into downright heresy! This was highlighted recently in two stories I saw of church leaders who don’t even pretend to care about what the Bible teaches.

Here’s the first example I saw:

A United Church of Christ “minister” in LA (who refers to her sermon as “heretical”, so at least she admits it!) preached:

Well, do I think that [the resurrection] could have happened and did happen? I believe so . . . I feel it probably did.

But if I’m to be scientific or realistic I don’t know. And I say that because there’s no “proof.”

Did it really happen? . . . Did Jesus really raise from the dead? I don’t know.

If Jesus didn’t physically raise from the dead and ascend, it doesn’t change a thing about my love of God and Christ and Christianity . . . because I truly believe in my heart of hearts that my faith . . . is a resurrection faith.

Now, it should be obvious to any Christian why her hesitation to affirm the resurrection of Christ beyond a “I feel it probably did” is a problem—our very salvation depends on us affirming that we believe Jesus Christ rose from the dead!

Romans 10:9 KJV – “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

The resurrection is so central that the Apostle Paul, by inspiration of the Holy Spirit, wrote that, without it, our faith is useless and we have no hope!

1 Corinthians 15:14, 17–19 KJV – “And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain… And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.”

Her message is utter heretical nonsense that offers no hope to anyone for now or for eternity. She is a wolf!

Here’s the second example:

A Canadian reverend of The Metropolitan Community Church in Toronto, Ontario, preached in a sermon that for 40 years he’s wanted his church to remove the “uncomfortable” and “problematic” word Savior from the church website as that can be a “stumbling block” to potential visitors and those seeking membership at his church.

Many, before they come to our church, will check out the website to see what this church is about: so, see what they believe. And many of the folks that did that will tell me, out in the community, “Brent, I looked up your church, and it sounded reasonable, but when I got to that word Savior, it was a problem.”

I would hope that someday, this church would see the possibility of changing that word because it is a stumbling block for so many who want to be here. It is a stumbling block for people who do interfaith work. How do we explain that phrase to Muslims, and to Jews, and to Hindus?

Yikes! Another wolf. For someone to claim to be a pastor and yet fail to understand how to explain the gospel to those of other religions doesn’t make any sense until you understand that he (and you probably guessed this) doesn’t believe Jesus is the Savior in the biblical sense that you or I would mean it.

He doesn’t mean the person of Jesus Christ—the Son of God, the long-promised Messiah, and Lamb of God—who died for the sins of the world as the only hope for sin-cursed humanity. He (and he’s clear this is just his personal definition—everyone can define Savior however they want) defines the “savior” as “the person, persons, or situations that help me to heal my relationship with God.”

Because of this belief, he wants Savior—which comes with certain biblical connotations—replaced with the more meaningless guide.

I think the word guide just as effective explains the meaning, that Jesus is the one who guides us back into a healing relationship with God. It doesn’t say he is the only guide.

Everything he claims so obviously contradicts Scripture it’s hard to know where to start so I’ll just give you two Scripture verses that highlight how Jesus is not a “guide”—he’s the One who alone can save us from our sin—and that, yes, he is a stumbling block! The Bible openly admits that and commands us to teach the full counsel of God and proclaim the gospel message anyway, trusting God to remove hearts of stone and give people hearts of flesh to respond to the gospel.

Acts 4:12 KJV – “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

1 Corinthians 1:23–24 KJV – “But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.”

Now, why do I highlight these two obvious examples of heresy from two very liberal churches? Well, for two reasons. One is as a reminder of how far someone can slide when they reject biblical authority. As soon as we start elevating man’s ideas over God’s Word, we run into error and open a door of compromise that others will kick open even further.

But the second reason I’m highlighting these examples is to encourage you, if you have a faithful pastor, to remember to thank him for what he does. So many pastors compromise God’s Word or are silent on the hot-button issues of our day. If your pastor is faithful to teach God’s Word as the authority, thank him for what he does and let him know you’re praying for him.

I’ll guarantee both the people discussed above do not believe in a literal Genesis 1–11. Rejecting Genesis 1–11 goes hand in hand with liberal theology.

And may all of us take to heart what God, through the Apostle Paul, told the young Timothy:

2 Timothy 3:14-17 KJV – “But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”

“Thus saith the Lord, ‘Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls.’ But they said, ‘We will not walk therein.’” Jeremiah 6:16

At this time of year, my daily Bible reading takes me through the book of Deuteronomy. I have read this book many times over the years. The word “Deuteronomy” literally means “second law” or “repeated law”.

And that’s exactly what the book is: Moses repeats the Law to them as he recounts how God tested them in the wilderness.

He reminds them of their sin and disobedience, their grumbling and complaining, and their unbelief in setting up the golden calf, while travelin’ to the Promised Land. He also points out the Lord’s faithfulness and goodness to them: in protection, in provision, and in discipline, chastisement, and judgment.

Whenever I think of Deuteronomy, I think of the Law of Moses: the conditional law that God laid down to Israel: simply put, if they obeyed God’s laws they would be blessed, and if they disobeyed God’s laws they would be cursed. To me, that was the main theme of this book. But this time my reading has been different; I have seen something else that shines out like a bright light.

I still see the Lord giving the conditional Law of blessing and cursing; and I still see Israel’s repeated failures and the Lord’s continuing faithfulness. But I see something else, something beautiful about our God in the Old Testament. God set up His covenant Law over Israel, not as God Almighty ruling over a nation, but as a Father, in love, instructing His children as to how they are to behave in His house.

The context of Deuteronomy, if you will, is found right here:

“The Lord did not set His love on you or choose you because you were more in number than any of the peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples, but because the Lord loved you and kept the oath which He swore to your forefathers, the Lord brought you out by a mighty hand and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.” Deuteronomy 7:7-8

And so, as you read through the book, you see that it all has to do with a Father’s concern for the best interests of His children. He gives Himself to them as their Protector. They need fear no nation on earth harming them; God Almighty surrounds them, no one can touch them. Consider for a moment how free you would feel, if that were the case in the country you live in. As you go about your daily life, you know no evil can touch you.

Then, the Lord gives Himself to them as their provider: they shall not lack or want anything. Consider the land He is giving them:

“…The Lord your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, flowing forth in valleys and hills; a land of wheat and barley, of vines and fig trees and pomegranates; a land of olive oil and honey; a land where you will eat food without scarcity, in which you will not lack anything…” 8:7-9

And if that’s not enough, here’s more:

“You shall be blessed above all peoples; there will be no male or female barren among you or among your cattle. The Lord will remove from you all sickness; and He will not put on you any of the harmful diseases of Egypt which you have known…” 7:14-15

Given His love, protection and provision, how free would you feel in such a beautiful and bountiful land?

Question: Understanding this blessed freedom of life under the watchful eye of your Maker and Father, how burdensome does the Law now appear?

And now we come to the child of God under grace. The blessings the Lord promised to Israel there were conditional and temporary. But the same God, the same Lord has given Himself to us in a much greater way. He has given Himself to us through His only begotten Son. The Lord Jesus Christ doesn’t just watch over us; He abides in us through His Holy Spirit.

Jesus has washed all our sins away with His precious blood; by His resurrection, He has given us eternal life; God has rescued us from the domain of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son.

We have been delivered from the pathway to destruction, and placed on God’s freeway to a home of everlasting love, peace and joy.

A final thought: the children of Israel had a glorious free way to travel on, had they only trusted and obey God.

The Christian has a glorious free way to travel on if they will only trust and obey God.

Admittedly, the free way has many difficulties and dangers. But Jesus has promised to never leave us nor forsake us, so with that, we may travel the free way, rejoicing all the way to the Promised Land.

“…What great nation is there that has a god so near to it as the Lord our God whenever we call on Him?” Deuteronomy 4:7 Only in the will of God are we truly free.

Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one come to the Father but through Me.” John 14:6

On Feb. 26, 2025, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz addressed the Sovereignty Conference 2025 in Jerusalem.

Cruz said:

• Israel has an absolute right to determine what happens in Judea and Samaria.
• Israel’s right starts in the Bible and extends through modern times.
• As for your enemies, who are also the enemies of America, we know that they seek to weaken you and to weaken us. And then to destroy you. And then to destroy us.

God clearly made an everlasting covenant to give all the land of Canaan to Abraham and his descendants after him in their generation and to be Israel’s God (Gen. 17:7-8).

God clearly said He would bless the descendants of Ishmael, but His everlasting covenant would go through Isaac (Gen. 17:18-21) who had not even been born yet.

Abraham had twin sons (Esau and Jacob). Esau had the birthright as the firstborn, and the covenant should have gone through him, but he sold his birthright to Jacob for a bowl of pottage (Gen. 25:29-34), and God accepted the deal.

Then, the covenant went through Jacob (Gen. 28:13; 35:10-12) whose name was changed to Israel and whose 12 headed up the 12 tribes of Israel.

The Jews wound up as slaves in Egypt; God remembered His covenant (Deut. 7:7-8), sent the Ten Plagues, Pharaoh let them go, and Moses led them to the Promised Land.

The story continues, but Cruz rightly stated that Israel’s right to the land (which includes all of Judea and Samaria and more) begins in the Bible.

It begins with God; it is an everlasting right. God cannot lie, and it will not be fully realized until the Second Coming of Jesus at the end of the Tribulation Period.

The Islamic obsession with destroying Israel and seizing the land is Satanic, and it will not end until Satan is bound and chained (Rev. 20:1).

In the meantime, because the Jews have rejected Jesus as their Messiah, they will not have peace, they will be beset with war, fear, and hardship, many will die, and more, but God cannot lie, God will not forsake Israel (Jer. 31:35-37), and all Israel will eventually be saved.

Here are some related current events.

One, on Feb. 26, 2025, Pres. Trump held the first cabinet meeting of his second term.

18 Cabinet secretaries, White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, National Security Advisor Michael Waltz, DOGE head Elon Musk, and Trump’s nominee for UN ambassador were in the room.

Trump opened the meeting by asking HUD Sec. Scott Turner to pray.

Randy DeSoto reported that Turner prayed:

• Father, we thank you for this awesome privilege, Father, to be in your presence.
• God, thank you that you’ve allowed us to see this day.
• The Bible says that ‘your mercies are new every morning,’ and Father God, we give you the glory and the honor.
• Turner thanked God for allowing them to serve and anointing them to do the job.
• He asked God to give Trump and them the wisdom they will need to lead the country.
• I pray for all of my colleagues that are here around the table and in this room.
• Lord God, we pray that we would lead with a righteous clarity.
• The Bible says, ‘Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD.’
• Thank you for giving us this opportunity to restore faith in this country and be a blessing to the people of America.
• Lord God, today in our meeting, we pray that you would be gloried in our conversation, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Trump congratulated Turner for doing a very good job.

(My opinion: I am not sure how this fits in with Bible prophecy, but praying in Jesus’ name is Biblical. I am delighted to know that the first Cabinet meeting was opened with prayer in Jesus’ name, and I hope all of the Cabinet meetings are opened that way.)

Two, concerning the U.S.: on Feb. 28, 2025, Rev. Franklin Graham said:

• There is one area that no president has control over—that’s the ever-growing moral decadence that seems to have gripped so much of our nation, especially among young people.
• It’s a spiritual degeneracy that can only be cured by repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
• There is no other remedy or hope.
• As Scripture states, “And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold” (Matthew 24:12).

Graham added that the U.S. needs the redeeming grace of God and urged people to pray that it will happen.

(My opinion: Graham is saying Pres. Trump can’t save the U.S., but God can and will if America’s citizens will give up their sins and truly accept the death of Jesus on the cross as a propitiation for their sins. Prayer can change things.)

Three, on Jan. 24, 2025, Pres. Trump pardoned 23 pro-lifers (some were elderly, some were just praying, etc.) who had been sentenced to long terms in prison for peacefully protesting at abortion clinics.

At that time, Trump said they should not have been prosecuted.

On Feb. 25, 2025, a group of pro-life advocates urged the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Oversite to repeal the laws that were used to jail these people.

(My opinion: I believe abortion is wrong, and my belief comes from the Bible.)

Four, concerning Israel having a powerful army at the end of the age: on Feb. 27, 2025, in a special service with prayers and religious blessings and songs, dozens of ultra-Orthodox (religiously observant) Jews were sworn in as the first members of a religious combat unit in the Israeli military.

This unique group of religious soldiers (males and females) will also serve their nation as fighters.

(My opinion: The idea of religious soldiers is in the Bible; Samson, Gideon, etc.)

Five, concerning the Battle of Gog and Magog: following Iran’s third threat in a week to destroy Israel and the U.S., on Feb. 25, 2025,

• Israel’s Defense Min. said, “We are ready.”
• S. Senator Lindsey Graham said, “Don’t get overly attached to your nuclear weapons program.”

At some point, Iran will try to destroy Israel, but God will intervene, and Iran will fail.

(More: On Feb. 26, 2025, the International Atomic Energy Agency warned that Iran has accelerated its production of near-weapons-grade uranium amid mounting tensions between Iran and the U.S.)

(More: On Feb. 25, 2025, Iran rejected talks about stopping its efforts to produce nuclear weapons as long as the U.S. is imposing sanctions on Iran’s oil industry. Iran said we will not negotiate under pressure.)

Six, I am not suggesting that Pres. Trump is the Antichrist, and I don’t think he is, but for years Bible prophecy teachers have said the world will get in a big mess at the end of the age and world leaders will welcome a man with a plan (the Antichrist) to deal with the problems.

On Feb. 27, 2027, it was reported that U.S. Sec. of State Marco Rubio told Breitbart News:

• His conversations with leaders across the Middle East suggest a strong desire in the region to see expansion of the historic Abraham Accords.
• The worldwide planet is thrilled that Pres. Donald Trump is back in the White House.
• The world has been dying for Trump’s kind of leadership again in Washington.

(My opinion: There is no doubt that Trump is a very powerful man with a lot of big plans, but the Bible clearly teaches that the Antichrist cannot be identified while the Church is on earth. Some pundits say the Antichrist will be gay. I don’t know about that, but if it is true, it is more likely to be Obama than Trump. As far as I am concerned, those that are here when the Antichrist appears have been left behind.)

Seven, concerning wars and rumors of wars: on Feb. 28, 2025, it was reported that Israel is planning to resume its war with Hamas within four to six weeks with a significantly changed strategy.

According to the report, Israel is currently working on a plan:

• To deploy a large number of troops,
• To move the Palestinians into humanitarian areas,
• To take control of all aid,
• To provide aid only to those in the humanitarian areas, and
• To defeat Hamas and take over the entire Gaza Strip.

(More: On Mar. 3, 2025, it was reported that Israel will not allow Hamas to continue the ceasefire without releasing hostages. Israel intends to cut off all humanitarian aid, electricity, and water to Gaza – no food, water, or electricity – to encourage people to leave before it unleashes the Gates of Hell with an overwhelming attack on Hamas. Trump has already said if Hamas doesn’t release the hostages, he will support whatever Israel decides to do.)

Eight, concerning Trump’s suggestion that the U.S. take over Gaza: on Feb. 26, 2025, Glen Beck suggested that it is a bad idea Biblically.

Beck said,

• That’s sacred land.
• I think this would be so bad in the spiritual sense for the United States to take that land.
• That belongs to Israel.

(My opinion: Beck is right. The Bible clearly teaches that God gave that land and a lot more to Israel as an everlasting possession. America should not even think about taking one square inch of it.)

(More: On Mar. 2, 2025, it was reported that a recent poll found that only 6% of Gaza’s citizens want Hamas to remain in power in Gaza. Many Palestinians blame Hamas for starting the Oct. 7, 2023 war, preventing them from getting aid, etc.)

(More: On Mar. 4, 2025, the Arab League approved a plan by Egypt to rebuild and govern Gaza. The UN, EU, and PA Chairman Abbas endorsed the plan, but the U.S. and Israel rejected it. A U.S. official said the U.S. is still open to talks, but Hamas cannot have a future role in the government of Gaza. Israel added the plan continues to rely on the PA and UNRWA, and both are corrupt.)

Nine, concerning Israel having a great army at the end of the age:

• On Feb. 28, 2025, the U.S. Defense Dept. authorized a $2.04 billion sale of bombs to Israel starting in 2026 to meet future threats.
• On Mar. 1, 2025, the U.S. Sec. of State Marco Rubio signed a document to expedite $4 billion of military aid to Israel to meet present needs.

The Trump administration has approved nearly $12 billion in military sales to Israel since Trump took office on Jan. 20, 2025.

Ten, concerning Europe having a great army at the end of the age, on Mar. 3, 2025, the Prophecy News Watch (PNW) staff posted an interesting article.

They said, “The abrupt fallout between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has not only shaken diplomatic relations but has also sparked renewed calls for Europe to establish its own army—one independent of the United States.”

They asked:

• Could this be the fulfillment of a prophetic moment leading toward the rise of a European superstate?
• And could this pave the way for the prophesied leader who will unite Europe under a single banner?

They said, “While we cannot predict exact timelines, the convergence of global events suggests that we may be witnessing the early stages of a prophetic fulfillment.”

(My comment: They have been talking about doing this for years, but it has been all talk and no action. In less than two months, Trump has got them scrambling to do it immediately.)

FYI: God does not send anyone to Hell (all of us are born with a sin nature and destined to go to Hell because we sin), but God has provided a way (Jesus) for everyone to go to Heaven (and He is the only way to get there; John 14:6).

Finally, are you Rapture Ready?

If you want to be rapture ready and go to heaven, you must be born again (John 3:3). God loves you, and if you have not done so, sincerely admit that you are a sinner; believe that Jesus is the virgin-born, sinless Son of God who died for the sins of the world, was buried, and raised from the dead; ask Him to forgive your sins, cleanse you, come into your heart and be your Saviour; then tell someone that you have done this.

On Feb. 25, 2025, a group of pro-life advocates urged the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Oversite to repeal the laws that were used to jail these people.

Six, I am not suggesting that Pres. Trump is the Antichrist, and I don’t think he is, but for years Bible prophecy teachers have said the world will get in a big mess at the end of the age and world leaders will welcome a man with a plan (the Antichrist) to deal with the problems.

On Feb. 27, 2027, it was reported that U.S. Sec. of State Marco Rubio told Breitbart News:

• His conversations with leaders across the Middle East suggest a strong desire in the region to see expansion of the historic Abraham Accords.
• The worldwide planet is thrilled that Pres. Donald Trump is back in the White House.
• The world has been dying for Trump’s kind of leadership again in Washington.

(My opinion: There is no doubt that Trump is a very powerful man with a lot of big plans, but the Bible clearly teaches that the Antichrist cannot be identified while the Church is on earth. Some pundits say the Antichrist will be gay. I don’t know about that, but if it is true, it is more likely to be Obama than Trump. As far as I am concerned, those that are here when the Antichrist appears have been left behind.)

Seven, concerning wars and rumors of wars: on Feb. 28, 2025, it was reported that Israel is planning to resume its war with Hamas within four to six weeks with a significantly changed strategy.

According to the report, Israel is currently working on a plan:

• To deploy a large number of troops,
• To move the Palestinians into humanitarian areas,
• To take control of all aid,
• To provide aid only to those in the humanitarian areas, and
• To defeat Hamas and take over the entire Gaza Strip.

(More: On Mar. 3, 2025, it was reported that Israel will not allow Hamas to continue the ceasefire without releasing hostages. Israel intends to cut off all humanitarian aid, electricity, and water to Gaza – no food, water, or electricity – to encourage people to leave before it unleashes the Gates of Hell with an overwhelming attack on Hamas. Trump has already said if Hamas doesn’t release the hostages, he will support whatever Israel decides to do.)

Eight, concerning Trump’s suggestion that the U.S. take over Gaza: on Feb. 26, 2025, Glen Beck suggested that it is a bad idea Biblically.

Beck said,

• That’s sacred land.
• I think this would be so bad in the spiritual sense for the United States to take that land.
• That belongs to Israel.

(My opinion: Beck is right. The Bible clearly teaches that God gave that land and a lot more to Israel as an everlasting possession. America should not even think about taking one square inch of it.)

• On Mar. 1, 2025, the U.S. Sec. of State Marco Rubio signed a document to expedite $4 billion of military aid to Israel to meet present needs.

The Trump administration has approved nearly $12 billion in military sales to Israel since Trump took office on Jan. 20, 2025.

Ten, concerning Europe having a great army at the end of the age, on Mar. 3, 2025, the Prophecy News Watch (PNW) staff posted an interesting article.

They said, “The abrupt fallout between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has not only shaken diplomatic relations but has also sparked renewed calls for Europe to establish its own army—one independent of the United States.”

They asked:

• Could this be the fulfillment of a prophetic moment leading toward the rise of a European superstate?
• And could this pave the way for the prophesied leader who will unite Europe under a single banner?

They said, “While we cannot predict exact timelines, the convergence of global events suggests that we may be witnessing the early stages of a prophetic fulfillment.”

FYI: God does not send anyone to Hell (all of us are born with a sin nature and destined to go to Hell because we sin), but God has provided a way (Jesus) for everyone to go to Heaven (and He is the only way to get there; John 14:6).

Finally, are you Rapture Ready?

If you want to be rapture ready and go to heaven, you must be born again (John 3:3). God loves you, and if you have not done so, sincerely admit that you are a sinner; believe that Jesus is the virgin-born, sinless Son of God who died for the sins of the world, was buried, and raised from the dead; ask Him to forgive your sins, cleanse you, come into your heart and be your Saviour; then tell someone that you have done this.

On Feb. 26, 2025, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz addressed the Sovereignty Conference 2025 in Jerusalem.

Cruz said:

• Israel has an absolute right to determine what happens in Judea and Samaria.
• Israel’s right starts in the Bible and extends through modern times.
• As for your enemies, who are also the enemies of America, we know that they seek to weaken you and to weaken us. And then to destroy you. And then to destroy us.

God clearly made an everlasting covenant to give all the land of Canaan to Abraham and his descendants after him in their generation and to be Israel’s God (Gen. 17:7-8).

God clearly said He would bless the descendants of Ishmael, but His everlasting covenant would go through Isaac (Gen. 17:18-21) who had not even been born yet.

Abraham had twin sons (Esau and Jacob). Esau had the birthright as the firstborn, and the covenant should have gone through him, but he sold his birthright to Jacob for a bowl of pottage (Gen. 25:29-34), and God accepted the deal.

Then, the covenant went through Jacob (Gen. 28:13; 35:10-12) whose name was changed to Israel and whose 12 headed up the 12 tribes of Israel.

The Jews wound up as slaves in Egypt; God remembered His covenant (Deut. 7:7-8), sent the Ten Plagues, Pharaoh let them go, and Moses led them to the Promised Land.

The story continues, but Cruz rightly stated that Israel’s right to the land (which includes all of Judea and Samaria and more) begins in the Bible.

It begins with God; it is an everlasting right. God cannot lie, and it will not be fully realized until the Second Coming of Jesus at the end of the Tribulation Period.

The Islamic obsession with destroying Israel and seizing the land is Satanic, and it will not end until Satan is bound and chained (Rev. 20:1).

In the meantime, because the Jews have rejected Jesus as their Messiah, they will not have peace, they will be beset with war, fear, and hardship, many will die, and more, but God cannot lie, God will not forsake Israel (Jer. 31:35-37), and all Israel will eventually be saved.

Here are some related current events.

One, on Feb. 26, 2025, Pres. Trump held the first cabinet meeting of his second term.

18 Cabinet secretaries, White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, National Security Advisor Michael Waltz, DOGE head Elon Musk, and Trump’s nominee for UN ambassador were in the room.

Trump opened the meeting by asking HUD Sec. Scott Turner to pray.

Randy DeSoto reported that Turner prayed:

• Father, we thank you for this awesome privilege, Father, to be in your presence.
• God, thank you that you’ve allowed us to see this day.
• The Bible says that ‘your mercies are new every morning,’ and Father God, we give you the glory and the honor.
• Turner thanked God for allowing them to serve and anointing them to do the job.
• He asked God to give Trump and them the wisdom they will need to lead the country.
• I pray for all of my colleagues that are here around the table and in this room.
• Lord God, we pray that we would lead with a righteous clarity.
• The Bible says, ‘Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD.’
• Thank you for giving us this opportunity to restore faith in this country and be a blessing to the people of America.
• Lord God, today in our meeting, we pray that you would be gloried in our conversation, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Trump congratulated Turner for doing a very good job.

(My opinion: I am not sure how this fits in with Bible prophecy, but praying in Jesus’ name is Biblical. I am delighted to know that the first Cabinet meeting was opened with prayer in Jesus’ name, and I hope all of the Cabinet meetings are opened that way.)

Two, concerning the U.S.: on Feb. 28, 2025, Rev. Franklin Graham said:

• There is one area that no president has control over—that’s the ever-growing moral decadence that seems to have gripped so much of our nation, especially among young people.
• It’s a spiritual degeneracy that can only be cured by repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
• There is no other remedy or hope.
• As Scripture states, “And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold” (Matthew 24:12).

Graham added that the U.S. needs the redeeming grace of God and urged people to pray that it will happen.

(My opinion: Graham is saying Pres. Trump can’t save the U.S., but God can and will if America’s citizens will give up their sins and truly accept the death of Jesus on the cross as a propitiation for their sins. Prayer can change things.)

Three, on Jan. 24, 2025, Pres. Trump pardoned 23 pro-lifers (some were elderly, some were just praying, etc.) who had been sentenced to long terms in prison for peacefully protesting at abortion clinics.

At that time, Trump said they should not have been prosecuted.

On Feb. 25, 2025, a group of pro-life advocates urged the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Oversite to repeal the laws that were used to jail these people.

(My opinion: I believe abortion is wrong, and my belief comes from the Bible.)

Four, concerning Israel having a powerful army at the end of the age: on Feb. 27, 2025, in a special service with prayers and religious blessings and songs, dozens of ultra-Orthodox (religiously observant) Jews were sworn in as the first members of a religious combat unit in the Israeli military.

This unique group of religious soldiers (males and females) will also serve their nation as fighters.

(My opinion: The idea of religious soldiers is in the Bible; Samson, Gideon, etc.)

Five, concerning the Battle of Gog and Magog: following Iran’s third threat in a week to destroy Israel and the U.S., on Feb. 25, 2025,

• Israel’s Defense Min. said, “We are ready.”
• S. Senator Lindsey Graham said, “Don’t get overly attached to your nuclear weapons program.”

At some point, Iran will try to destroy Israel, but God will intervene, and Iran will fail.
