Brethren: The Attacks on Billy Graham Must Stop! Lay down Your Stones or Cast Them – You Who Have No Sin

I have absolutely had it.

This article is not going to be filled with rebuttals to the vicious attacks on the life of Billy Graham, but instead I want the reader see the lives of other great men of God.  I keep having a picture in my head of Christians holding and throwing stones at the very memory of Billy Graham, who spent his life sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The purpose of this article is to take a look at many other theologians throughout history, and even in the Bible. I hope to show the reader that we (all who belong to the Lord Jesus Christ) are human, with the frailties and faults which come from being in these sinful bodies of flesh.

King David

If there was ever a man who broke every one of God’s Commandments, it certainly was David. And yet God called David “A man after My own heart.”  From his great sin of adultery with Bathsheba, and then arranging for her husband to be murdered on the front lines of battle, David’s great sins were laid bare before him, and also before anyone who reads the Word of God. And yet the life of King David inspires us to love God and His Word.  This may sound hypocritical, but it is truly not so.

From gotquestions.org   (excerpts)

After he sinned, David was truly repentant. David’s sin with Bathsheba is recorded in 2 Samuel 11:2–5. The mighty fall hard, and David’s fall included adultery, lying, and murder. He had sinned against God, and he admits it in 2 Samuel 12:13: “David said to Nathan, ‘I have sinned against the LORD.’ And Nathan said to David, ‘The LORD also has put away your sin; you shall not die.’” But admitting our sin and asking for forgiveness is only half of the equation. The other half is repentance, and David did that as well. Psalm 51 is David’s prayer of repentance to God: “Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin!” (Psalm 51:1–2).

In conclusion, David was a man after God’s own heart because he demonstrated his faith and was committed to following the Lord. Yes, his faith was tested on a grand scale, and he failed at times. But after his sin he sought and received the Lord’s forgiveness. In the final analysis, David loved God’s Law and sought to follow it exactly. As a man after God’s own heart, David is a role model for all of us. – source

The Apostle Paul

I believe that the Lord allowed the struggles and sins of His anointed to help us in our walk with God.  As we read about the Apostle Paul, we know that he struggled with what he called “The thorn in his flesh.”  Do we know exactly what this thorn was in the flesh of God’s servant, Paul?  We can only speculate about this.

Read what Paul said about his struggles:

“Has then what is good become death to me? Certainly not! But sin, that it might appear sin, was producing death in me through what is good, so that sin through the commandment might become exceedingly sinful. For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold under sin.  For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do.  If, then, I do what I will not to do, I agree with the law that it is good.

But now, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me.  For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find.  For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice.  Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me”  (Romans 7:13-20).  (emphasis added)

The Apostle Peter

How we love Peter as we get to know him through reading the Gospels! How plain it is before us that this man who adored our Lord Jesus, was prone to saying the most outrageous things.  Yes, they are all recorded in the Word of God for us to see.

And after proclaiming to his Lord that he would never abandon him, Jesus tells Peter that before the cock crows thrice, he will deny Him three times. I cannot imagine the pain in Peter’s heart when he realized that he had done just as the Lord had said:

“And Simon Peter followed Jesus, and so did another disciple. Now that disciple was known to the high priest, and went with Jesus into the courtyard of the high priest. But Peter stood at the door outside. Then the other disciple, who was known to the high priest, went out and spoke to her who kept the door, and brought Peter in.  Then the servant girl who kept the door said to Peter, “You are not also one of this Man’s disciples, are you?”

He said, “I am not.”  (John 18:15-17).

“Now Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. Therefore they said to him, “You are not also one of His disciples, are you?”

He denied it and said, “I am not!”

One of the servants of the high priest, a relative of him whose ear Peter cut off, said, “Did I not see you in the garden with Him?”  Peter then denied again; and immediately a rooster crowed”  (John 18: 25-27).

There are so many more examples in the Word of God which show clearly the frailty of men and women – and how, despite their sin, God used them in such mighty ways for His glory.

Let us look at servants of our Lord in more recent times:

Martin Luther

Well known as one of the fathers of the Great Reformation, there are certainly very dark periods of this man’s life.  Many believers know about the great sins of Luther – many don’t.  I wrote an article expanding on Luther’s anti-Semitism.  You may read it here:

Can you Love the Lord Jesus Christ, Yet Despise His People?

In his latter years, Luther wrote a sermon entitled “On the Jews and Their Lies.”  This disparaging and outright evil sermon caused the burning down of countless synagogues, and the murder of over 2000 Jews in one night.

Hitler loved Martin Luther, and carried this sermon with him to all SS meetings.

I’m sorry if I have shocked those who did not know about this side of Luther.  I admit to you as a Jew that when I read about this sermon, I was appalled and for a time did not even want to see a quote by Luther.

One day a sister in Christ spoke words to me which changed my heart. She told me that Luther was but a “man” and therefore not perfect.  She reminded me of the boldness of Luther’s writing the 95 theses and nailing them to the door of the Catholic church.  He was striving to show the leadership of Catholicism that the Word clearly spoke of being saved by Grace through Faith, and NOT by works. I am so thankful that the Lord sent this sister to me to help me see Luther as a “man” and not beyond the ability to sin greatly.

John Calvin

Another father of the Great Reformation, John Calvin was quoted as saying this:

“Their [the Jews] rotten and unbending stiffneckedness deserves that they be oppressed unendingly and without measure or end and that they die in their misery without the pity of anyone.” ~John Calvin.

I could write on so many “great” man of the faith and shock you with quotes and actions towards my people, but I think that the ones presented in this article suffice to drive home my point.

Billy Graham

My father was brought up in an Orthodox Jewish family in Boston.  Somewhere along the path of his life, someone shared the Greatest story ever told with my dad. I don’t know this for a fact, but there is no other explanation for the words which my father spoke to us as we were growing up – words about Yeshua.  In retrospect, my dad had been searching for the truth about Jesus for many years.

As my father got older, he began to watch Billy Graham Crusades, much to the chagrin of my “Secular Jewish” mother.  She would say that my dad must be losing his mind!   My father would never miss seeing Reverend Graham when he was on television.

I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that Billy Graham sowed so many seeds into my father’s heart through the years.  The Lord allowed me the blissful privilege of leading my father in prayer to our Savior on the night of his death.

I will see him in heaven – Hallelujah!

Brothers and Sisters in Christ – there is one ONE perfect one and that is our Redeemer – our Savior – the Lord Jesus Christ.  Tempted in every way which we are, He had no sin.   He is God.

PLEASE lay down your stones. Please see Reverend Graham’s life as any other servant of our God.  Please understand that when you disparage the life of Billy Graham – you are hurting the body of Christ and even the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

You are taking the eyes of the world off of the Lord and even more, you are dragging the Lord Himself through the mud.

I pray that this article has opened at least some eyes of those who are bound and determined to disgrace the name of a great servant – an anointed man of God, whose life’s work was to bring people to the Cross and have them lay down their lives and accept the finished work of Christ so as to be saved.

Shalom b’Yeshua

  2. I agree that no one of us is without sin, and that Messiah died for the sins of everyone / the whole world / for all time. I would point out tho’, that lately the Ruach Ha Qodesh, has been carrying out the mission that YHWH thru believers has been speaking (not necessarily re Billy), in that, He’s going to “clean house” because of the combination of “cheap grace message” and “Laodicean lukewarmness along with a lax attitude to sin in the lives of believers”, there’s a lack of impact on the world re being the salt and light believers are called to be. Matthew 7 is often quoted (I’ll cite KJV tho it’s not my preferred) “judge not lest ye be judged, for with the same measure you judge you shall be judged”. During Shabbat service today when all were reading Matt.5-7, I had my bible which was translated direct from Hebrew or Aramaic and noticed that it read, “do not condemn that you may not be condemned..” in chapter 7. I say this to point out, that we are required to make judgments every day and the bible teaches that we’re to be fruit inspectors which is linked to judgment calls, BUT we’re not to condemn. If we see a believer doing wrong, or think we have an issue, we’re to if possible go to that one, and in a spirit of love seek resolution and restoration. I was thinking of this because in 3 or 4 different “mouths” He has been speaking to me on these matter,s and He is grieved that there are as He put it, “wolves in sheep’s clothing” who are not preaching the necessity of repentance, and though people may experience miracles, be healed, etc, they will still be eternally damned if they don’t repent. Thus one thing needing to be judged is the messages being preached. I will say that Billy Graham always spoke of the need to repent, and to be cleansed of all unrighteousness. Yes he was a man, and yes like all of us, he made mistakes likely, but he made no mistake in the message.

  3. My dearest Geri, I’ve read both your first and second article about our beloved Pastor Billy Graham. I was deeply touched by your first article about your Jewish father accepting Jesus, I rejoiced with you as I also grieve with you at how so many in the secular media are tearing down this man of God. Yes he was human and like all of us who have ever lived(save One), he was not without fault, but he did his best to live God and put Him first, to live a humble life and to lead as many as he could to our Lord Jesus Christ. I can only hope those who speak I’ll of him and of the Lord Himself will later repent, for my pray is that these modern day Sauls of Tarsus will soon come to know and love Jesus as the apostle Paul did, that their voices will carry throughout the Earth, the Gospel of our Lord Jesus and will greatly praise our Abba Father. Meine Mutti ist Deutch, ihre name ist Hannelore. With good reason I believe my mother’s family was Jewish, and only by the grace of God did their identity remain hidden as my grandfather was raised in an orphanage and there was a fire before WWI that destroyed almost all the paperwork. It is truly an act of God that my little family survived Hitler’s reign of terror. It was through Corrie Ten Boom, that I became connected to Billy Graham and his children’s different ministries and it was by listening to the”Dare to be a Daniel CD” ministry my children chose to ask Jesus into their hearts. Our Lord Jesus could have used any one to come along side us to lead us to Himself, He chose the Billy Graham, and I for one am so grateful for all those who accept the high calling of being a “Fisher of Men”, we must pray that many more in this present time will be willing and worthy to take up the net or mantle. Blessings my beautiful Sister-in-Christ, take heart since the World hated Him/Jesus, they will surely hate us who belong to Him. Pat Ann….side note, does the Graham ministry know about your father’s testimony, I know it would bless them greatly.

  4. Just thought of this but how many times have we as Born Again Believers in Christ have had stones thrown at us by people who like call us names say things that aren’t true I was called a Pharisee once which isn’t true so we shouldn’t throw stones at our Brother in Christ Billy Graham.

    1. Brother I got called “Pharisee” so often I changed my avatar on my Facebook page to a pharisee, out of humor. The one thing I have found in trying to share the gospel, is that it seems like every one has a different opinion about everything.

      1. The reason I was called a Pharisee once was because I agreed with the Rapture websites who say the Rapture can happen at any time the Rapture websites and articles have Bible Verses in the articles. I was even told I know more than God when I don’t. Weren’t Pharisees the ones in the Bible who kept or taught the law just wondering.

      2. Pharisees did administer the Law, yet they kept adding more to it to keep people under their authority.
That is why Jesus warned people to beware of the “leaven of the pharisees” their leaven was adding to God’s word. Yet they did not know it well enough to understand that the Messiah was in their midst, doing the miracles that only The Messiah would be able to perform.
As to the Rapture debate, it will continue until it actually happens.
Matthew 16:12 KJV – “Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.”

  5. Oh my God. Wrong! Billy Graham is a 33rd degree freemason pedophile who preached false Grace and molested little boys. His many millionaire foundations have silently paid off the victims over the decades. Bible says to abhor what is evil and have nothing to do with the deeds of the wicked but rather reprove them. Nobody needs to throw a stone at Billy Graham. He is in the bottomless pit already. Billy Graham toured the world like a rock star put up in the finest hotels and castles. He catered to the Vatican and Jehovah Witness pedophile cult labeled by the FBI.

It is this care bear safety net don’t criticize anybody attitude that has enabled the satanic illuminati to conquer the world and all the sheeple therein. Professed Christians are shaking hands with satan instead of resisting him. Anybody praising Billy Graham will gladly revere the man of sin.

Jesus was once called good by a rich merchant. Jesus rebuked the man for calling him good because only God alone is good. Yet you and the masses of Xtian sheep promote the false graven image of man over the sovereignty of Almighty Jehovah God. So they praised the false prophets before them.

      1. God is not a name first off. Neither is Lord. Both are titles and I did not say this in vanity. Yet another religious Xtian throws a stone at me. I’m used to it. Hell enlarges herself daily. You defend a pedo and falsely rebuke a true disciple of Yeshua care bear style. /done

    1. “Billy Graham is a 33rd degree freemason pedophile who preached false Grace and molested little boys. His many millionaire foundations have silently paid off the victims over the decades.”

Wow man, that’s some list of allegations you slapped down there. Can you cite multiple sources, witnesses, and or public testimony of such allegations?

I’ll give you this Donald. Billy Graham was indeed a sinner as are we ALL.
      Romans 3:23 (NASB)
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
      Isaiah 53:6a (NASB)
6 All of us like sheep have gone astray, Each of us has turned to his own way;.

I know Billy Graham had his anti-semitic moment with Nixon. This is public record. I also know he repented of this.

I can’t say who is in heaven and who is not. I’m not the Judge. But that same Judge did tell us this.

      Matthew 7:15-20 (NASB)
15 “Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
16 “You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they?
17 “So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit.
18 “A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit.
19 “Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
20 “So then, you will know them by their fruits.

As far as Graham is concerned, I have seen nothing but good fruit. So I have to say he was one of the Lords sheep.

      1. You protect a blood drinking pedophile and attack me falsely with banana boat NASB scriptures. Of course all you saw was good fruit. Lucifer means bearer of light. We live by faith not by sight. God is going to burn you coward lukewarm Xtians in the eternal lake of fire.

      2. “You protect a blood drinking pedophile and attack me falsely with banana boat NASB scriptures. Of course all you saw was good fruit. Lucifer means bearer of light. We live by faith not by sight. God is going to burn you coward lukewarm Xtians in the eternal lake of fire. ”

I was attacking you? I just simply asked you to expand on the allegations. I mean, if what you stated proven true, then that might be a reason to change my view.

Which scriptures/translations are acceptable to you?

      3. Brian these false allegations that are being made remind me of this Bible Verse. James 1:8 New King James Version (NKJV)

8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

I read the NKJV Bible and the Holy Spirit helps me understand it.

      4. Apologies Brian. I’m under constant attack on all social media from the Christian Sanhedrin. There is huge reason Billy Graham was flown & welcomed all over the world. Like Jimmy Swaggart, Billy preached the Gospel however with false Grace. Example. “When Jesus rose from the dead all your sin is forgiven past present future and your eternity is guaranteed. Once saved always saved. Jesus Christ said not everybody who cries Lord Lord on that day would be saved. Billy Graham is closely linked with the Vatican aka Illuminati headquarters and also the Jehovah Witnesses which are not only falsies but an organized pedophile ring profiled by the FBI. He has standing applauses and fills colloseums to the max. So does Joel Osteen. By their fruit you recognize them. Billy Graham paved the way for Copeland Osteen Jakes etc. Bible says in the last days perilous times will come men will become lovers of fame pleasure & money. Jesus said it is easier for a camel to pass through the needles eye than a rich man to enter heaven. Ultimately God is the judge but Jesus said to judge righteously for ourselves not judging by sight. Billy was a millionaire celebrity welcomed worldwide. It seems the world loves him as Christian radio still won’t stop praising Graham. And yes both Christian radio and the church have fallen into darkness. The prince of the power of the air deceiveth the whole world.

The 1611 KJ Scriptures are inspired by the HolyGhost. King James evaded many assassinations had to have food testers etc. Both the creators of the copyrighted NKJV & NASB are welcomed and praised worldwide just like Graham.

  6. Ephesians 4:29 New King James Version (NKJV)

29 Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.

  7. You are wrong check out what gotquestions says.Question: “Is saying ‘OMG’ or words like geez still taking the Lord’s name in vain?”

Answer: The idea of “taking the Lord’s name in vain” is first found in Exodus 20 when Moses receives the Ten Commandments. The third commandment states, “You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain” (Exodus 20:7). What does this mean? How does it apply to terms like OMG and geez?

Taking the Lord’s name in vain is to speak of God with irreverence or disrespect. Many have traditionally understood the exclamation “Oh my God!” to be sinful, because it has nothing to do with a proper, reverent use of God’s name.

The same principle is true when a person uses an acronym such as OMG or a word like geez (the first syllable of Jesus’ name) or gosh (a modified form of God). If the intended meaning is to be disrespectful toward God and His name, the word should not be used. However, some people use OMG without any thought of its connection to God’s name, and that’s what makes this question difficult.

We could all use the reminder that our words carry meaning. As people who follow Christ, we care deeply about helping others and honoring God. We must ask ourselves, “Do these words help others and honor God?” If we are honest, we will probably admit that words such as gosh do not. It may not be easy to change a long-standing habit, but we must seek to speak words that build up one another (1 Thessalonians 5:11) and honor the Lord.

James 3:9-10 speaks of the tongue as a powerful part of the body: “With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in the likeness of God. From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so.” Our goal is to be consistent in our use of words, so they would serve as a blessing to God and to others.

Paul wrote, “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him” (Colossians 3:17). This stands as our basis for evaluating terms such as OMG and geez. Does using these words give “thanks to God the Father”? If not, begin working to remove these words from your conversations and texts in order to honor God “in word and deed.”

    1. Yeshua called the religious right of the day a den of vipers, whitewashed tombs, snakes etc. He also told them the prostitutes and hustlers would enter heaven before them. Your doctrine would have you saying this isn’t very Christ-like. GEEZ!

  8. First of all the NKJV is not satanic how dare are you say that second what I say to Geri my sister in Christ is none of your business third I am not religious and fourth you are spiritually blind.

    1. …those sound like stones to me, Mr. Flanders. You posted on a public internet forum therefore making it everybody’s business. Now you have yourself a blessed day. I am not into vain babbling or perverse disputings.

  9. Bibleguy you sound like a woman. If you’d research you’d find out the NKJV has over 100,000 translation changes including the removal of blood, hell, reprobate, damnation etc. It also changes Son of God to Servant of God for Christ many times. Now stop slinging stones with your candy cane scriptures.

    1. I’m not a woman I’m a guy second of all where’s your proof about the NKJV Bible which translation are correct?! You are spiritually blind. STOP throwing stones at me!!

      1. So let’s see you have called me double-minded and spiritually blind twice now and you whine effeminately now about me throwing stones. Im done talking to you.

  10. Timothy 3:16 New King James Version (NKJV)

16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,

  11. Deuteronomy 5:20 New King James Version (NKJV)

20 ‘You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

The Lord God will defend me against these false comments He is my help. And these false comments will not affect me I know who I am in Jesus Christ!!

1 Timothy 1:6 New King James Version (NKJV)

6 from which some, having strayed, have turned aside to idle talk,

2 Timothy 2:16 New King James Version (NKJV)

16 But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness.

Matthew 12:36 New King James Version (NKJV)

36 But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.

  12. And one last Bible Verse. Matthew 5:11-12 New King James Version (NKJV)

11 “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. 12 Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

  13. This is a good example of narcissism when someone uses the scriptures to promise revenge by God unto the person who disagrees with them. This is an internet board for open exchange and I’ve been following Geri for some time. She is a good writer. I have not blasphemed Christ nor his Holy Spirit. And yes if you would actually research the incredible iniquity found among the authors of the NKJV you would go to the 1611 KJ. Now you have no accusation is me good sir “Bibleguy” and I wish no ill will upon you nor will I attack you with scripture.

    1. DJ = not to pour water on your words, but the 1611 KJV was authorised by whom? Answer King James a Roman Catholic. Still it’s not bad. I prefer the 2 bibles I have translated from Hebrew / Aramaic to English, : a) the Hebraic Roots Bible A Literal Translation from congregation of YHWH but b) i mostly use my eth cepher. Eth is the pronunciation for Aleph Tav juxtaposed. In the Hebrew scriptures they are juxtaposed throughout. so in my cepher they are as well tho just as the Hebrew letters exactly like in the original. It also contains 87 books not 66 (another arbitrary RC decision), as 75 or so were in canon at one time or another. I myself have studied a number of those other cephers (books) including Jasher, Jubilees, 1 Enoch, 3 and 4 Ezra, 1 and 2 Baruch, etc. Oh and by the way the newest Eth Cepher includes Psalms 151-155 and Acts 29.

      1. I’m with it brotha. Keep in mind this is a gentile blog. I also have Hebrew texts. King James actually pushed the project but he had scribes translate the ancient texts. Several of his translators were martyred. The KJV is largely based from William Tyndale’s work who was his predecessor burned at the stake. KJV not perfect but the Word of God preserved. The NKJV, NASB & NIV are complete satanic garbage.

I worship Yahuah Eloya Adonai Most High through Messias Yeshua Alpha Omega. Peace.
