Recently I wrote about visiting my sister, and how my ears and mind were continuously assaulted by CNN on her TV. That station was on from sunrise to sunset. I could feel the anger rising up in me, but I love my sister and did not want to hurt her feelings. At the same time, I felt that it was necessary to tell her the truth about the “Fake News” coming out of stations like CNN.

I began by asking her if she had seen the news on various events (I knew that CNN would not cover these happenings) and of course my sister said “No” she had never heard of these events.

I explained to her that CNN and other Leftist news organizations did not report on subjects or events which might put liberalism in a bad light. She did not know who George Soros was. She knew very little about Antifa. She knew virtually nothing about Obama’s Marxist/Socialist ideologies. She thought he was cool.

I told my sister that it would be prudent for her to switch stations during the day. I told her that if she could not bear Foxnews, that there were other networks which reported on “all” important events; i.e. One America News Network.

PRAVDA

Do you remember during the Cold War with the USSR (if you are old enough) and how their publication “Pravda” out of Moscow continually pumped out fake news stories – we called it “Propaganda.” The stories ALWAYS put America in a bad light and ALWAYS portrayed the USSR as a wonderful and compassionate Country – or should I say “Dictatorship?”

I think that back then, even the left leaning public and news organizations agreed that the USSR was an evil force to be reckoned with, and even knew that Pravda was nothing but pure propaganda.

Fake News IS Propaganda

When I speak to liberals about news events – they parrot back to me (almost verbatim) the headlines or lead stories from CNN and other Leftist news sources. It is rather creepy when I hear these people repeating what they have read. If I ask if they have vetted these stories, they look at me as if I have two heads. WHY would they need to vet anything which comes out of the liberal press? Certainly CNN and MSNBC and the major networks would never steer them wrong!

So there it is – complete blind faith in the leftist news sources. No need to seek out other sources regarding big stories. These people are brainwashed. They trust in those who are looking for a New World Order. They disparage anyone who disagrees with liberal causes.

As far as the typical liberal is concerned – we are racist, bigoted and out of touch with the real world – which in their minds is the only world for which to fight.

It’s Spiritual

The bible tells us clearly that we are not fighting against flesh and blood:

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand” (Ephesians 6: 10-13). (emphasis added)

So does this mean that we should only pray for these deluded ones? I believe that prayer is vital in this spiritual war, but I also think that we should tell these people the truth, and keep a cool head about us. The Lord will show us when we are to stop, and in many cases, when we are to shake the dust off of our shoes and move on.

Close to Home

I decided to write this piece after something happened when I posted a piece on Facebook. The story was about Denzel Washington and his Christianity and being Conservative. It rather shocked me when this happened.

Ordinarily, my kids do not post on my page. I figured that they just stay away from it. You see, after college, my children decided that Christianity was not real and was more of a crutch. I don’t argue with them any longer – that is futile. I pray for them, but when the opportunity arises, I will speak truth from the Word to them.

When my children were in high school, they each made a decision to repent and trust the Lord Jesus for the forgiveness of their sins. My oldest son would share his faith with others. He studied his Bible and had read it at least 20 times – front to back.

But college and its uber liberal atheist professors proved to be too much for them. They decided to walk away from Christianity and God Himself. Needless to say, this broke my heart. I know that there are so many parents with this same story. But we keep praying – God is able.

Back to the Denzel Washington piece – one of my sons came onto my page and called that story “fake news” and even said that it was a Russian plot. I began a back and forth with him, but then realized that I was only pushing him further away. I deleted the post – reluctantly.

I Hate Satan

It all comes back to him, you know. We can blame CNN or George Soros or a host of other New World Order mouth pieces, but when it comes right down to it, it goes right back to the Garden of Eden.

“Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?” And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’” Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil” (Genesis 3: 1-5). (emphasis added).

Has God said……” YES – God DID say this. He also said this:

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6).

And that is an eternal Truth.

Pray that the brainwashing of our children, our families and our friends will be cleared away by the truth of God’s Word.

We can’t expect these people to change their words or actions, until God changes their hearts of stone into hearts of flesh.
