The hustle and bustle of Christmas.  Presents, decorations – food and family. Don’t forget Christmas carols and all the festivities at your churches!

This Christmas, JESUS is asking you a question:

Will you help one who belongs to Him, who is in dire circumstances?  I am not trying to make anyone feel guilty.  But I am attempting to have the readers go before the Lord and ask Him what they should do.

On November 29th, a brother in Christ, Anthony LeMasters, was doing yard work. He lives with his mother in W. VA. An explosion occurred, ignited by a can of gasoline.  Anthony was on fire – all of him. He ran in a panic. He remembers that a still small voice said to him:  Stop, Drop and Roll.  And he did. But he had already sustained 2nd degree burns over 80% of his body. The doctors said that if he had continued to run, he probably would have sustained 3rd degree burns over his entire body, and most likely he would have died.

He thought that he just needed to get to some water and that would help the burns.  When he got to the source of water and began pouring it on himself, he realized that he had only intensified the pain.

He began to scream “Jesus help me……Jesus help me!”  And then he blacked out. Anthony was airlifted to a local hospital, but then had to be air lifted once again to a burn unit in Huntington, W.Va.

He spent almost two weeks at the burn unit. Anthony was in unspeakable pain. He had surgery at this hospital and netting was placed over his burns to help facilitate healing.  He was then released, and the plan was that he would go for acute and subacute care at another hospital.

But his mom was told that there were no beds available. His mother had no idea what it takes to care for a burn victim. Although Anthony left the burn unit hospital with pain medication, he was almost completely out of it as of yesterday. I suspect that they thought that he would get the medicines he needed from the acute care hospital.

His mother had done as much as she could, but then she realized that infection was setting in – she knew that her son needed to be in the hospital.  Today he was transported to the ER of the nearest hospital.  Because Anthony had not been cared for in a hospital for the last couple of weeks, he is now at risk of becoming crippled.   He needs physical therapy after they get his infection and burns under control.

Anthony’s mother, who is in her eighties, has been traveling around in an attempt to find a doctor who will care for her son, and follow up with his care. She has been repeatedly turned down.

Earlier in 2016, Anthony lost all of his possessions, after the basement apartment of his mother’s home was flooded.  I could not help but think of Job from the Scriptures!

Chaplain Bill Herrmann, who has an online ministry on Facebook, has been alerting other Christians about this fiery trial which has beset our brother Anthony and his mom.  Chaplain Bill is also trying to get medical help – a doctor who will be Anthony’s attending physician.

There are two things which are so needed for our brother right now:

  • Prayer – Will you pray for this brother in Christ at this time?  Will you ask others to pray?
  • Any amount of money that you can afford to send to Anthony’s mother is SO needed right now.

Christians Beware: Just Like “The Message” “The Shack” is New Age Mysticism

I can just hear Satan saying to weak or immature believers:

“Did God say that you must read the Bible? Surely you are wise enough to understand spiritual matters. The Bible is so outdated. Look for new revelations about God from other people. God just doesn’t want you to be as wise as he is.”  <hissss>

Eugene Peterson

This man is the author of the New Age “mess” called “The Message.” Mr. Peterson is one of the biggest fans of “The Shack.”He was the pastor of a Presbyterian Church USA for 29 years. He was Professor of Spiritual Theology at Regent College in Vancouver, British Columbia until he retired in 2006.

What is Spiritual Theology?

The “Beginning of spiritual life to its full perfection” sounds so much like Hinduism to me; reaching different levels of spirituality and “reincarnation” until they reach perfection.  Satanic lies – all of it. We will be perfected when we are in His presence.

I really did not expect to find a book review on “The Shack” on gotquestions.org, but I looked and lo and behold -there it was!

Answer: The Shack has become a publishing phenomenon, a bestseller by a first-time author that has rocketed up the sales charts with rumors of an impending movie—not bad for a book that was self-published by the author, William P. Young, and started out being sold out of a garage.

The glowing reviews for The Shack hail it as everything from the new Pilgrim’s Progress (theologian Eugene Peterson, translator of the Bible paraphrase The Message) to “the best novel of 2007” and “one of the rare fiction books that could change your life” (various Amazon.com five-star reviewers). According to the book jacket, Young was raised by missionary parents living among a Stone Age tribe in New Guinea. He wrote the novel for his six children to explain his own journey through pain and misery to “light, love and transformation,” according to a profile in USA Today. The “shack” of the story was the ugly place inside him where everything awful was hidden away, a result of his history as a victim of sexual abuse, his own adultery and the ensuing shame and pain, all stuffed deep in his psyche, as Young explained.

This background is important because Young’s past appears to greatly color his view of both God and Christianity, resulting in a severely flawed view of both. The story begins with Mackenzie “Mack” Phillips, a father suffering great pain—a “Great Sadness,” according to the story—because of the death of his young daughter at the hands of a serial killer. Mack receives a note from “Papa” to meet him at the rundown shack in the woods where police had found evidence of his daughter’s murder six years earlier. Mack, who was raised by a hypocritical, vicious and abusive father who was also a pastor, already understands from previous experience that “Papa” is God. Mack approaches The Shack with rising anger, wanting to lash out at God for allowing his young girl to be killed. Instead of the old man with a long white beard, as Mack expects, he’s suddenly embraced by “a large beaming African-American woman” who introduces herself as Papa.

Mack is then introduced to the rest of the Trinity: Jesus, a Middle Eastern man dressed as a laborer, and the Holy Spirit, a woman of “maybe northern Chinese or Nepalese or even Mongolian ethnicity” named Sarayu. The rest of the story is a conversation among the three members of the Trinity and Mack as they work through issues of creation, fall and redemption.

Subtle and not-so-subtle heresies
Young’s intentions are good. He wants to introduce readers to a loving God who was willing to sacrifice his own Son to save us from our sins. But all heresies begin with misconstruing the nature of God. From Jehovah’s Witnesses to Mormonism to even Islam, they all get it wrong when it comes to understanding the God of Scripture. Young joins their company. Part of the problem arises because his story is confused and inconsistent. He doesn’t set out to mislead, but he himself is misled, either by himself or others.

He wants desperately to show us the God of love as found in Scripture (1 John 4:8), but he ignores the other side, the God of utter holiness (Isaiah 6:1-5) and, ultimately, the final Judge (Revelation 20:11-15). Any presentation of God that shows only one side of His nature is wrong. In an effort to counter a false view of God as only the judging avenger of wrath, we must not go the opposite direction and present Him only as a loving, indulgent parent who never judges sin. Both extremes are false in that they present an incomplete picture of God as He shows Himself to us in Scripture.

By emphasizing only one part of God’s nature, The Shack actually leads readers astray with regard to God’s attitude towards sin. Papa tells Mack, “I don’t need to punish people for sin. Sin is its own punishment, devouring from the inside. It’s not my purpose to punish it; it’s my joy to cure it.”

To be sure, sin often carries within itself its own punishment (Romans 1:27). But sometimes the wicked prosper in this life (Jeremiah 12:1). More importantly, Scripture is full of references to God’s impending wrath against sin and unbelief (John 3:36, Romans 1:18, Romans 2:5-8, Colossians 3:6, and many others.) For The Shack to give the impression that it is not God’s purpose to punish sin is the height of bad theology and irresponsibility.

We anthropomorphize (attribute human qualities to) God the Father at our peril. He is spirit (John 4:24), and when He refers to Himself in anthropomorphic terms, it is always as a father. This is important because any attempt to make God a female inevitably leads to goddess religion and God’s becoming some sort of fertility figure, a worship of the creation instead of the Creator (Romans 1:25).

And for some reason Papa changes form later in the book to become a gray-haired, pony-tailed male. No, God does not change Himself to accommodate our flawed understanding of Him. He changes us so we can see Him as He truly is (1 Corinthians 13:12).

Papa acknowledges that Jesus is both fully human and fully God, but she adds,

[H]e has never drawn upon his nature as God to do anything. He has only lived out of his relationship with me, living in the very same manner that I desire to be in relationship with every human being. He is just to do it to the uttermost—the first to absolutely trust my life within him, the first to believe in my love and my appearance without regard for appearance or consequence.

But that’s not what Scripture says. Jesus in fact was before all things and through Him all things were created and hold together (Colossians 1:16-17). The words Papa speaks are a form of the ancient heresy of subordinationism, which puts Jesus in a lower rank within the Trinity. Scripture teaches that all three persons of the Trinity are equal in essence.

Scripture also teaches that there is a hierarchy of authority and submission within the Trinity. Papa tells Mack that authority and submission are a result of sin, and the Trinity is a perfect circle of communion.

Mackenzie, we have no concept of final authority among us, only unity. We are in a circle of relationship, not a chain of command or “great chain of being” as your ancestors termed it. What you’re seeing here is relationship without any overlay of power. We don’t need power over the other because we are always looking out for the best. Hierarchy would make no sense among us.

But Scripture teaches that authority and submission are inherent to the Godhead and have existed from the beginning. Jesus was sent by the Father (John 6:57), and Jesus says it is his intention to obey the Father’s will (Luke 22:42). The Holy Spirit obeys both the Father and the Son (John 14:26, John 15:26). These are not the result of sin; they are the very nature of the Godhead in which all three persons are equal in essence but exist within a hierarchy of authority and submission.

The Shack also teaches a form of patripassionism, another ancient heresy that teaches that God the Father suffered on the cross. At one point, Mack notices “scars in [Papa’s] wrists, like those he now assumed Jesus also had on his,” and later Papa says, “When we three spoke ourself into human existence as the Son of God, we became fully human. We also chose to embrace all the limitations that this entailed. Even though we have always been present in this created universe, we now became flesh and blood.”

God the Father and God the Holy Spirit did not speak themselves into human existence; only the Son became human (John 1:14).

A low view of Scripture
The Shack wants to make God accessible to a hurting world, but its author also has a very low view of Scripture; in fact, he mocks anyone who holds that there is such a thing as correct doctrine.

In seminary [Mack] had been taught that God had completely stopped any overt communication with moderns, preferring to have them only listen to and follow sacred Scripture, properly interpreted, of course. God’s voice had been reduced to paper, and even that paper had to be moderated and deciphered by the proper authorities and intellects. It seemed that direct communication with God was something exclusively for the ancients and uncivilized, while educated Westerners’ access to God was mediated and controlled by the intelligentsia. Nobody wanted God in a box, just in a book. Especially an expensive one bound in leather with gilt edges, or was that guilt edges.

If one is to teach error, it is important to do away with Scripture, either by adding to it (Mormonism), mistranslating it (Jehovah’s Witnesses) or simply mocking it (The Shack and some others in the ”emergent church”). But if you are going to claim to teach about God, you must stick to what He has declared to be His revelation about Himself and His will to us. In other words, correct doctrine, a point stressed numerous times in Scripture (1 Timothy 4:16, 2 Timothy 4:3, Titus 1:9, Titus 2:1). Yes, we are not just to be hearers (and readers) of the Word; we are to live it. But we can’t live it unless we know it, believe it, and trust it. Otherwise, the God you present is merely a creation of your own imagination and not the God that everyone must stand before on that final day, either as friend or condemned sinner.

But it’s only fiction
Some defend The Shack by saying it’s only a work of fiction. But if you’re going to have God as a character in your fiction, then you must deal with God as He has revealed Himself in Scripture. By using the Trinity as characters, The Shack is clearly indicating that it’s talking about the God of Christianity. But God has said certain things about Himself in Scripture, and much of what’s in this novel contradicts that.

More importantly, why does the author feel the need to change the character of God in this story? In a way, he’s saying that the God who reveals Himself to us in the Bible is insufficient. The author needs to “improve” the image to make it more palatable. But God never changes Himself so that we can understand Him better. He changes us so that we can see Him as he truly is. If God changed His nature, He would cease to be God.

If a friend had a cold, abusive father, don’t make the God of your story into a warm, loving female to compensate. Show your friend what a true father is like, using the example from Scripture. If your friend is hurting, don’t comfort him with soothing lies, such as The Shack’s assertion that God does not judge sin. Show him the God of all comfort found in Scripture, the God who was willing to save him from that judgment by sending his Son. – source

I’d like to speak about the “But it’s only fiction” statement.  If it’s truly only fiction, why are so many churches using this book as a resource in their Bible studies?

The lack of discernment, even among pastors, is alarming.  We have the Word of God – His OWN WORDS.

Why would we reach out to a flawed person for truth, when their writings do not align with the Bible?

The hatred of Jewish people is certainly nothing new.  And it seems that the Left believe that this hatred is acceptable  and expected. After all, most of the world hates my people.

As Christians we know that this intense hatred of the Jewish people is placed in the hearts of so many by Satan himself. He knew that the Messiah of the whole world would come through Jewish lineage.  That ‘s why he has tried (in vain) to exterminated every Jew from the face of the earth.

Haman

In the book of Esther, Haman vowed to kill every Jew, but God saved them through Esther’s bravery and love for her people.

Hitler

During WWII it was Hitler who Satan entered for the “Final solution” – the extermination of the Jewish people of Europe.  Out of this atrocity came the Jewish State of Israel – a prophecy fulfilled.

God brought the Jews back to their land

For centuries, the Jewish people have been persecuted and killed. After being dispersed throughout the world by the Lord for their sin, He brought them back to their land of Israel:

“For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land” (Ezekiel 36:24).

The hatred continues

Never before have so many throughout the nations of the world detested Israel. When the Jewish people returned to their land in 1948, Hitler’s “Final solution” was carried on by Israel’s Arab neighbors.  The conflict with the so-called Palestinians has been the source of the fiery hatred for Israel from most nations on the earth. This hatred is so evident at every gathering of the United Nations.

The only true friends to Israel

When I meet people who profess to be Christian, I immediately look for a love for the Jewish people in them.  True born again, Bible believing Christians have a love for the Jewish people, placed in their hearts by the Lord Jesus Christ Himself.

Fashioned after Obama’s “Hope” poster, this despicable poster of Bibi with the word “Rope” is the embodiment of the the world’s hatred for my people. Can you imagine if such a poster had been made for Obama or the leader of any Arabic nation?  There would be such an outcry from the public!  But it is acceptable for Netanyahu and it represents hatred for all Jewish people.

The Great Tribulation:  The time of Jacob’s trouble

My people have always been “stiff-necked.”  We read about it in the Word of God. But the Jewish people are God’s chosen people – not because of any greatness or faithfulness of the Jews; but because they belong to God. They are His people, and it is for His sake that His hand is always on them.

The destruction of my people by Hitler will pale in comparison to the death and destruction which will be brought against my people by Antichrist.  Only after this monster sits in the Temple and declares that he is God, will the eyes of the Jews be opened.  2/3 of them will be slaughtered by Antichrist. The other 1/3 will escape to the mountains.

We are so close to the prophesied War of Ezekiel 38-39

Those who may laugh at the poster of Netanyahu will not be laughing when Israel’s enemies finally attack her. The Glory of the Lord and his protection of His people Israel will shock the world!

“And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord God, that my fury shall come up in my face.
For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel;
So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.
And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord God: every man’s sword shall be against his brother.
And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.
Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the Lord”  (Ezekiel 38:18-23).  (emphasis added)

Indeed, the nations of the world will know that He is the Lord!

Desperate Dems and RussiaGate: Anything to Delegitimize Trump’s Victory

Just when we thought we would not have to endure any more scandals from the Clintons, they fabricate one in an attempt to disrupt the upcoming inauguration of  Donald Trump. Hillary Clinton knows that even if the Russians did hack into the DNC – it’s not going to negate Trump’s win.  She doesn’t care.  She cannot deal with the fact that America rejected her.

‘Total B.S.’: Russian election hack blasted as ‘fake news’

Allegations that Russia somehow hacked the U.S. presidential race are being blasted as “total B.S.” and “fake news” engineered to take away the stunning victory of President-elect Donald Trump.

Trump himself tweeted about the controversy Monday, saying: “Can you imagine if the election results were the opposite and WE tried to play the Russia/CIA card. It would be called conspiracy theory!”

Talk-radio host Rush Limbaugh spent most of his Monday program scorching major media agencies for perpetuating the Russian-hack claim.

“The Washington Post and the New York Times on Russia’s interference in the election is total B.S., and it is the definition of ‘fake news,’” Limbaugh said, labeling both newspapers “the biggest perpetrators of fake news in this country today.”

“They are doing everything they can do to take Trump out,” he explained. “It’s the Democrat Party trying to change the outcome of the election.”

On Friday, Dec. 9, the Washington Post reported: “The CIA has concluded in a secret assessment that Russia intervened in the 2016 election to help Donald Trump win the presidency, rather than just to undermine confidence in the U.S. electoral system, according to officials briefed on the matter.”

But in the same article, it noted: “Intelligence agencies do not have specific intelligence showing officials in the Kremlin ‘directing’ the identified individuals to pass the Democratic emails to WikiLeaks, a second senior U.S. official said. Those actors, according to the official, were ‘one step’ removed from the Russian government, rather than government employees.”

On Sunday, CNN media analyst Brian Stelter wondered concerning Trump’s election: “Is this something of a national emergency? And are journalists afraid to say so because they’re going to sound partisan?”

Reince Priebus, head of the Republican National Committee during the campaign and incoming chief of staff for Donald Trump, told NBC’s Chuck Todd on Sunday there were serious problems with the Post’s claim of Russian hacking. – source

Does anyone remember when Benjamin Netanyahu was up for reelection in Israel, and Obama sent his people over there in an attempt to sway public opinion?  BHO’s minion tried very hard to help Bibi’s opponent.  It backfired on him. Bibi won in a landslide.  I remember it very clearly.  Once again there is a glaring double standard with the left.  They can do anything and the liberal media will cover for them all the way.  But this fabricated story which does not have legs, is going to be the only thing that the left will be talking about for the next month.

BizPacReview reported: “A senior FBI counterintelligence official met with Republican and Democrat members of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence in order to give the bureau’s view of a recent CIA report. The official did not concur with the CIA, frustrating Democrats. … The FBI official was much less convinced of the claims, providing ‘fuzzy’ and ‘ambiguous’ remarks.”

New York Times columnist Paul Krugman said Monday the presidential election was “illegitimate” and “tainted.”

As WND is reporting, 10 members of the Electoral College including Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi’s daughter, Christine, are demanding a briefing from U.S. intelligence officials on any investigations into Trump’s ties to Moscow.

“The Electors require to know from the intelligence community whether there are ongoing investigations into ties between Donald Trump, his campaign or associates, and Russian government interference in the election, the scope of those investigations, how far those investigations may have reached, and who was involved in those investigations,” they wrote in an open letter.

“We further require a briefing on all investigative findings, as these matters directly impact the core factors in our deliberations of whether Mr. Trump is fit to serve as President of the United States.”

The campaign of Democratic Party nominee Hillary Clinton jumped on the bandwagon Monday, as Clinton spokesman John Podesta said: “The bipartisan electors’ letter raises very grave issues involving our national security.”

“Electors have a solemn responsibility under the Constitution and we support their efforts to have their questions addressed.”

“Each day that month, our campaign decried the interference of Russia in our campaign and its evident goal of hurting our campaign to aid Donald Trump,” Podesta said. “Despite our protestations, this matter did not receive the attention it deserved by the media in the campaign. We now know that the CIA has determined Russia’s interference in our elections was for the purpose of electing Donald Trump. This should distress every American.”

Limbaugh claimed the fear among those on political left, including the media, is palpable.

“I think I’m looking at abject panic,” he said. “I know I am at the Democrat Party. Abject panic. Childlike fright. First time in the House of Mirrors at the horror show at the state fair. All they see is themselves, and they’re scared to death. And then there’s Trump looking at ’em everywhere they turn in there.”

“I think that people who live and work in Washington are just numbed. I think they are flabbergasted. I think they are gobsmacked. I don’t think they’ve come to grips with what’s happened here. It is such a big deal that an outsider has come in and is gonna run that show. I cannot emphasize enough what an absolute shock this is to these people. They are terrified … they’re thinking that he’ gonna dismantle everything that defines who they are. He’s gonna dismantle everything that produces their standard of living. They are shell-shocked, they are paranoid and they are scared to death. Members of both parties. This is a closed club, this establishment, this collection of elites.”

Limbaugh tied the media’s claims of Russian interference in the U.S. election with the push for recounts by Green Party candidate Jill Stein and many in the Democratic Party.

“This is not a bunch of extremists who are not really part of the Democrat Party mainstream trying to run this recount and trying to intimidate the electors. This is the Democrat Party. There is no fringe in the Democrat Party. They are all extreme, radical leftists, socialists …

“And what you’re seeing, no matter where you look – if it’s Jill Stein, if it’s some of these wackos they find to carry the water on hassling and harassing the electors – it’s mainstream. It is the mainstream of the left, the Democrat Party. It isn’t their fringe. And they are expressly attempting to change the outcome of this election.” – source

I agree with Rush Limbaugh’s thoughts on this frantic attempt by the left to change the outcome of this election.  The Democrats should understand that if they are successful in this – there will be a nasty war in America.  The people will not allow this without a fight.  And I’m not talking about a fistfight – I mean all out war.

Brethren, we need to pray for America and for Donald Trump.  We need to ask the Lord to quench this attempt by the left to finish their destruction of our country.
