So, you are so overjoyed at the election of Donald Trump. You dusted off your rose colored glasses and are wearing them once again. Do you think because Trump beat Clinton in the election, that America is safe from harm, and we can all go back to lives of complacency?
That is EXACTLY how the enemy of our souls wants us to behave.
We are still under judgment
Do you think that God winks at these?
- Abortion – Every day over 3000 babies are aborted and sold for parts or discarded as trash
- Gay marriage – The definition of marriage was given by God. Our SCOTUS changed that – nationally.
- Hatred of Israel – Just look at our college campuses and at the professors – the hatred is overwhelming
- Public schools run by the government – God, prayer and the Bible banned – Islam embraced
But you say to me “But President Trump will change these things.” I dare say that for Mr. Trump to correct and change these evils in a short period of time is next to impossible. I believe that he will try. But don’t forget, if he attempts to negate Roe Vs Wade, it will probably go back to the States, and very possibly the States will continue abortion on demand.
Donald Trump is a defender of gay marriage
As a Christian, I want that decision to redefine marriage to be overturned! I don’t think that this is on the “to do” list of Donald Trump.
President-Elect Trump has tunnel vision right now. He is determined to make America “Great Again.” What does that entail exactly? Bringing jobs back to America; decreasing the corporate taxes so that will stimulate businesses to hire and to return to America; Jobs jobs and more jobs (which is good – don’t get me wrong). Also, a strong military once again, which is a good thing as well.
God says that America should be “Godly” again
BUT I believe that what God is looking for in America is true repentance and that America would once again be “Godly.” Maybe the world does not see a need for our nation to be godly again. The “Make America Great Again” mantra does resonate with most of America. They do not understand that the Lord’s anger burns against us.
We are still like Sodom and Gomorrah
I agree that if Hillary Clinton would have prevailed in her quest to be president, that would have accelerated the consequences of God’s judgment against us. But are we not still like Sodom and Gomorrah? We have been given a reprieve from persecution. Let us not ignore nor waste this window of opportunity to share the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ!
Why is the church not outside of every abortion mill, protesting the slaughtering of the sacred lives of the babies? Complacency.
Why are Christian parents still allowing their children to attend public schools which are anti-Christian in all ways? Complacency.
A heavy feeling in my spirit
I know that the following verse from Scripture is addressed to the Jews. But I also feel that it is applicable to the United States at this time:
“For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape” (1 Thessalonians 5:3).
Shall we escape?
I believe that we will not escape God’s wrath upon America – UNLESS there is a great awakening to our Lord, and massive number of people are saved. And UNLESS there is a great revival within the church; a turning away from heresy and blasphemous teaching. UNLESS the itching ear crowd stops finding themselves teachers who teach and preach fables to make them “comfortable in their sins.”
UNLESS Christians who have been complacent for many years, are broken before our Holy God.
“The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise” (Psalm 51:17). (emphasis added)
King David – A man after God’s own heart
Anyone who is familiar with the Bible will know that King David broke every one of God’s Commandments. Why then would God call him a man after His own heart?
It is because of David’s broken spirit before God (when he was confronted with his sin by Nathan) and David’s awareness that he had sinned against God. David became a broken man and he repented before God. God accepted his brokenness and his repentant heart. The consequences of David’s sin was the death of his baby. God is waiting for America. Will she repent?
Will the Christians in America repent?
Hopefully, most will. They need to not only repent, but they need to pray for America and for the lost. They (we) need to share the Gospel in new ways. We need to ask the Lord to show us what He would have us do to share Jesus Christ with the lost.
If these things do not happen, then I am sorry to have to bring bad news – but I believe that this country will be destroyed. We have been a beacon of light to so many nations of the world. God wants us to return to this. But perhaps it is too late. Only God knows the answer to this.
PRAY and SHARE – there are people dying every day without the Lord Jesus.
“If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our dead bodies. And if they perish, let them perish with our arms wrapped about their knees, imploring them to stay. If Hell must be filled, let it be filled in the teeth of our exertions, and let not one go unwarned and unprayed for.” ~ Charles H. Spurgeon

Amen. So thankful for your articles speaking truth in a day when truth is hard to be found. I agree with every word you wrote and write. Praying God blesses you richly

Bless you, Lynda 🙂
Amen Geri. What I’ve noticed, now that Trump has won the election, is that some Christians seem to be relaxing. Yes, We all prayed in earnest during the Clinton/Trump campaign. I believe the Lord heard our prayers and answered, but how many will continue to pray with that same earnest fervor now that the election is over? This is the time for a re-awaking in the body of Christ. We need to pray even more so now then prior to the election because our work is not yet done. Perhaps the Lord has granted us this reprieve for a season so that we can use it wisely to restore order to the church and bring revival to the nations before His return. We can’t simply pray to the Lord when times are tough, and then forsake him when things appear to be going our way without some reprisal. Great job Geri! 🙂
Amen, Jenny! AMEN
There were so many things – horrible, evil things – that were exposed during this election cycle that if we relax and “go back to the way things were” there will be no hope for those who desperately need help and for those who are being utterly deceived.
Also, I’ve heard Donald Trump say something a couple of times now that has chilled me to the bone – that brokering a peace deal between Israel and her Arab neighbors would be the epitome of negotiating. I don’t believe that Trump is the anti-christ, but I do believe that God has him in the position he’s in for a reason. I think we are far closer to then end than many think. Now, more than ever, we need to stay in prayer, stay on our toes, and stay close to the Lord.
Some good comments here. We know God placed Trump in his current position like undertheshadowblog mentioned. I agree with her that perhaps Trump winning the presidency will accelerate things–especially if the embassy is moved to Jerusalem. So many things are happening behind the scenes that we aren’t aware of that are coming together. I believe time is much shorter than we think. We need to use that time wisely in service of the Lord….
What’s interesting is the the EU voted to divide Israel and it’s barely even covered by the media. The devil is covering his tracks and people are being deceived about what’s coming.
Not only America, BUT the whole of the world.

Romans 1:18-32 (NASB)
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,
19 because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them.
20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.
21 For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing to be wise, they became fools,
23 and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures.
24 Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them.
25 For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
26 For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural,
27 and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.
28 And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper,
29 being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips,
30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents,
31 without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful;
32 and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.
As a world, as a nation of that world, and an individual of a nation, we really DO need to start singing an Aretha Franklin melody… R. E. P. E. N. T.
As usual, you nailed “it,” again. I dare say that most people are resting on the “laurels” of Trump being elected president elect for 2017×4. This has been where the church has been for ages. Win a little thing, ignore GOD’s Plans, WORDS. Part of the problem is that most Christians totally ignore the Scriptures from Genesis to Malachi, and Hebrews to the end if Revelations. Very convenient. This is why most people that I know say that God is not judging America,…I have stopped saying/warning friends/others. They do not want to hear it. They do not believe America will be judged. They do not believe Christians will be included in any judgment that comes before the tribulation. In other words, they get a “free pass” in whatever comes from GOD’s Mighty Hand! Once, when I told the that JESUS Weeps, in response to their “what are you thinking today,”…they were like “God doesn’t weep, HE laughs. They love the picture of a JESUS laughing with wonderful abandon. So do I. However, GOD IS MUCH MORE than laughter! Love you!
Indeed so here is the scripture.
Psalm 2:1-12 (NASB)
1 Why are the nations in an uproar And the peoples devising a vain thing?
2 The kings of the earth take their stand And the rulers take counsel together Against the LORD and against His Anointed, saying,
3 “Let us tear their fetters apart And cast away their cords from us!”
4 He who sits in the heavens laughs, The Lord scoffs at them.
5 Then He will speak to them in His anger And terrify them in His fury, saying,
6 “But as for Me, I have installed My King Upon Zion, My holy mountain.”
7 “I will surely tell of the decree of the LORD: He said to Me, ‘You are My Son, Today I have begotten You.
8 ‘Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Your inheritance, And the very ends of the earth as Your possession.
9 ‘You shall break them with a rod of iron, You shall shatter them like earthenware.'”
10 Now therefore, O kings, show discernment; Take warning, O judges of the earth.
11 Worship the LORD with reverence And rejoice with trembling.
12 Do homage to the Son, that He not become angry, and you perish in the way, For His wrath may soon be kindled. How blessed are all who take refuge in Him!
When Trump won so many Christians were acting like now this country will be great again like Trump promises. Part of me wonders if God is standing back and just waiting to say “I told you so” when this country does nothing to repent of its sins. Trumps promise is purely financial, nothing to do with this countries sins. Abortion will continue and this country will continue to fund abortions. We will continue to celebrate homosexual marriage and persecute those who stand against it. Nothing will have changed except a few people might find jobs.
I also agree with you this country is going to be destroyed in some fashion. I pray the rapture will happen first but the Lord has given me peace about it.
MARANANTHA!!!-!
