God’s Word Will Sustain Us – Fear Not

comforted

Brethren, the times in which we find ourselves are disconcerting and downright scary. But our Father gave us Himself in the Holy Spirit to indwell us after Jesus ascended into heaven. Just think about that; we have God the Holy Spirit living within us when we are born again! What a glorious God we serve – we are so blessed!

God also gave us Himself in His Holy Word.  The Bible is God’s Word – every Word. These Words are God-breathed.  Yes, the words were penned by men, but these men were under the inspiration of the Holy Spirt as they wrote.

As children of God, we must never neglect His Word. In this piece, I will post some wonderful Scriptures which help me when I am stressed or upset. I know that these passages of Scripture will help you as well.

When We Need Strength From the Lord:

“Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you” (Deuteronomy 31:6).

“Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10).

“The Lord your God in your midst,
The Mighty One, will save;
He will rejoice over you with gladness,
He will quiet you with His love,
He will rejoice over you with singing” (Zephaniah 3:17).

“No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it” (1 Corinthians 10:13).

Scriptures for Comfort from God:

“And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed” (Deuteronomy 31:8).

“The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed,
A refuge in times of trouble”  (Psalm 9:9)

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me” (Psalm 23:4)

“Cast your burden on the Lord,
And He shall sustain you;
He shall never permit the righteous to be moved” (Psalm 55:22)

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls”  (Matthew 11:28-29)

Scriptures of Peace:

“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid”  (John 14:27).

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).

“For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace” (Romans 8:6).

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;  and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7)

“And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful” (Colossians 3:15).

There are so many promises and Words of encouragement in the Bible. Sometimes I put the Bible on so I can hear it. I love when our home is filled with God’s Word!

Hard Times Are Coming

Jesus told us this in His Word. He didn’t want us to be surprised when these things began to happen in the world.  I’ve heard it said recently that things are not falling apart – they are falling into place.

Brethren, we need to cling to His Word. We need to pray always – talk to Him as you go about your day!  And we need fellowship with other Christians.

Jesus is our strength, comfort and our peace.

He is with you now and He will never leave you.

Shalom b’Yeshua

MARANATHA!
