LEGAL IMMIGRATION – It’s How We Do Things in a Nation of Laws

My people came to America from Ukraine around 1903. They came over legally through Ellis Island, NY.  They were fleeing more persecution as Jews. They knew our past, and the signs in Europe clearly showed that the past was soon to be repeated.  If they had been in Ukraine in the 1930’s and 40’s, they most likely would have perished.

They did not know English but they learned it.  They had very little money. My grandparents on both sides had lived in Kiev, Ukraine. I remember them speaking of coming to America. They wanted to be Americans. They spoke of choking up when they saw the Statue of Liberty.  They always made me proud to be an American when I would listen to their stories.

My people understood that it was a blessing to be coming to a country where they would not have to fear being slaughtered. But they also understood that America had borders and laws. They knew that they must obey these laws to come into this country. They also knew that they would be expected to work hard to make a living, and they did.

They wanted to assimilate into the American way of life.  My dad’s father started a milk delivery business in Boston, MA.  My mom’s dad helped to start a grocery business in Washington, D.C. after they had moved from Philadelphia. Our family flourished and grew. I was an American and I was so grateful for that.

Ronald Reagan said “A nation without borders is not a nation.”  Those were very wise words.  It’s like a person who has set no rules about what others can do to them. They could be molested, mistreated and a host of other evil things done to them. But if they do not say Stop, then they become vulnerable to attacks from others.

“For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies” (Matthew 15:19).

Whether we will acknowledge this or not, the truth is that we are sinful beings. Laws are made to keep us safe. Borders are built to keep a country safe.

HARD ECONOMIC TIMES

FROM FREEREPUBLIC.COM

“What did Presidents Hoover , Truman, and Eisenhower have in common?

This is something that should be of great interest for you to pass around. I didn’t know of this until it was pointed out to me.

Back during the great depression, Herbert Hoover ordered the deportation of ALL illegal aliens in order to make jobs available to American citizens that desperately needed work. Harry Truman deported over two million illegal aliens after WWII to create jobs for Returning veterans.

In 1954 Dwight Eisenhower deported 13 million Mexicans. The program was called Operation Wetback. It was done so WWII and Korean War veterans would have a better chance at jobs. It took two years, but they deported them!

Now, if they could deport the illegal aliens back then, they could surely do it today. If you have doubts about the veracity of this information, enter Operation Wetback into your favorite search engine and confirm it for yourself.

Why, you might ask, can’t they do this today? Actually the answer is quite simple. Hoover , Truman, and Eisenhower were men of honor, not untrustworthy politicians looking for votes!” [1] – source

MEXICO

Do you know what Mexico does with illegals?

From Michelle Malkin:

“The Mexican government will bar foreigners if they upset “the equilibrium of the national demographics.” How’s that for racial and ethnic profiling?
If outsiders do not enhance the country’s “economic or national interests” or are “not found to be physically or mentally healthy,” they are not welcome. Neither are those who show “contempt against national sovereignty or security.” They must not be economic burdens on society and must have clean criminal histories. Those seeking to obtain Mexican citizenship must show a birth certificate, provide a bank statement proving economic independence, pass an exam and prove they can provide their own health care.
Illegal entry into the country is equivalent to a felony punishable by two years’ imprisonment. Document fraud is subject to fine and imprisonment; so is alien marriage fraud. Evading deportation is a serious crime; illegal re-entry after deportation is punishable by ten years’ imprisonment. Foreigners may be kicked out of the country without due process and the endless bites at the litigation apple that illegal aliens are afforded in our country (see, for example, President Obama’s illegal alien aunt — a fugitive from deportation for eight years who is awaiting a second decision on her previously rejected asylum claim).

Law enforcement officials at all levels — by national mandate — must cooperate to enforce immigration laws, including illegal alien arrests and deportations. The Mexican military is also required to assist in immigration enforcement operations. Native-born Mexicans are empowered to make citizens’ arrests of illegal aliens and turn them in to authorities.

Ready to show your papers? Mexico’s National Catalog of Foreigners tracks all outside tourists and foreign nationals. A National Population Registry tracks and verifies the identity of every member of the population, who must carry a citizens’ identity card. Visitors who do not possess proper documents and identification are subject to arrest as illegal aliens.” [2] -source

Hypocrisy at it’s finest!

No one has all of the answers, but one thing we as law abiding, Conservative Constitutional loving Americans agree upon –  We have laws and they MUST be obeyed!

If you want to come to America, please get in line behind all of those who respect our laws.

The Democrats tout themselves as the Party of Compassion. That’s a joke. They look at these people as votes pure and simple!

They are the Party of Manipulation!

Come Lord Jesus!
