Well, this definitely lines up with Bible prophecy. NASA will not project when we will see these major earthquakes, but I tend to believe these scientists are correct; and I would not be surprised to see monster quakes hit in the near future.
The part of this story which escapes most of these scientists is that the God of the Universe, who is in complete control, can speak a word which will cause the slowing down of our rotation and and then major earthquakes all over our planet.
He made the heavens and the earth. Certainly He can do as He wishes with His workmanship!

EARTH’S rotation is slowing down as the Moon moves farther away from the planet – and scientists believe it could cause major earthquakes.

Earth’s rotation is slowing as our planet uses energy to keep the tidal bulge ahead of the Moon’s orbit. The Moon’s gravity keeps Earth’s rotation in check, and to do this the lunar satellite’s orbit must be slightly ahead of Earth’s. As the Moon attempts to regulate Earth’s rotation and slow it down, the Moon moves slowly away.
According to Matthew Funke, solar system ambassador for NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, who wrote on Q+A website Quora: “The Moon’s gravity creates a tidal bulge on the Earth. This bulge attempts to rotate at the same speed as the rest of the planet.
“As it moves ‘ahead’ of the Moon, the Moon attempts to pull it back. This slows the Earth’s
“One of the rules of the Universe is that ‘angular momentum’ can’t go anywhere — even if individual pieces speed up, slow down, or change direction, the sum total of angular momentum cannot change.
This could lead to major earthquakes down the line.
A slower rotating globe leads to stronger and more frequent earthquakes – exactly why this is the case is unclear, but experts believe it could be down to changes in the Earth’s core which ultimately has an effect on the surface.
Research from Roger Bilham of the University of Colorado in Boulder and Rebecca Bendick of the University of Montana in Missoula looked at earthquakes with a magnitude higher than seven since 1900
The duo found five years since the turn of the 20th century where there were significantly more magnitude 7.0-plus earthquakes – all of which were years that earth’s rotation speed had slowed down slightly.
Prof Bilham said: “In these periods, there were between 25 to 30 intense earthquakes a year.
“The rest of the time the average figure was around 15 major earthquakes a year.
“The correlation between Earth’s rotation and earthquake activity is strong and suggests there is going to be an increase in numbers of intense earthquakes.”
However, this is not expected to happen for billions of years, according to Physicist Paul Walorski who explained on physics forum PhysLink: “The slowing rotation of the Earth results in a longer day as well as a longer month.
“That’s been projected to happen once the day and month both equal about 47 (current) days, billions of years in the future.” source
We can trust our Father, no matter what happens. Our job while we are still here is to share the Gospel. God wants none to perish. Sadly, many have died while rejected His offer of Salvation.
We can only plant the seeds.

I agree, Tammy!
And we do. Ty Sister in Christ.
Thank you for your time and share. As always, since I was a child, I listened but always reserved belief for understanding. As far as I have researched, 24 hours and 365 days are still the norm. Fractions of seconds? Space is extremely interesting. I’ve always wondered at all the forces at play. The interactions. The balance. It is all very interesting and your share makes me wish to learn more.
Our oldest son is a doctor of astrophysics in CA. He works at JPL (Jet Propulsion Laboratory) He tries to explain things to me about outer space and I nod my head – but I don’t understand what he is telling me! LOL He wrote a program for astronomers to use for measuring the distance between stars.
There are different ways to explain. There are very intelligent people who do great works but have difficulty relating the material to the average guy or gal on the street. Of course, much of that material requires the education, but I had a relative that could relate complex machinery topics. Great he’s doing what he likes. Kudos.
Can you ask him if he has ever heard of Tarek Niazi? I recently heard a talk that he gave in 2011 about the earth slowing and it causing an increase in earthquakes. It was quite enlightening and he also spoke about the effect this had on the climate. You’ll never see it in the MSM as he flatly stated that it had nothing to do with CO2 or anything man made. He also referenced the Bible. Look for it on YouTube. The first 12 minutes are a bit technical but after that, Wow!
My son is part of a consortium and I believe that all of them (from all parts of the world) are on board with man-made climate change. My son fell away during college. We have a loving relationship but he wants no talk about the Lord 🙁
I’m sure that my Dan would love to talk about all things “outer space” with you! 🙂
You can open those doors of understanding and curiosity. Just look at things as if you’re seeing them for the first time.
